Their first season was the year I graduated from High School 1966! I've attended games at both the original stadium and the Hard Rock Stadium. It's hard for me to be a fan of any other Professional Football Team because my Father was a Dolphin's fan and my Uncle is still a huge fan. I might add that my daughter follows in their footsteps. I get a kick out of seeing her in her Dolphins Jersey. She may have a Dolphins Football Jersey but I have my Sterling Silver Ring!!

I've consistently attended camp before they closed off the near parking garage for students; before the practice bubble; before the covered VIP bleachers; waaaay before Stephen Ross; toward the end of the Don Shula era On my most recent visit, I felt inclined to express how different the experience has become. Long gone are the days of a welcoming training camp; when I used to park right next to the practice fields. This event used to be open admission. Granted, we don't have to pay for tickets, but it's more of a hassle now. The practice bubble. Oh God, the practice bubble. A light sun shower started to come down & the team went inside for a "5min cooling break." A cooling break?! Give me a break! I get that the NFLPA is much more active nowadays & may perhaps have something to do with it. But damn. The pansification of football extends to the training camp experience. Two-a-day practices used to be open to the public. The media is now covering from the stands. Blocking spectators from their views. What the hell is that about?! They used to be confined to the one maybe two towers on field. Where are these fools coming from? Ugh. Despite all this, I will still come out & support my team when I can. But damn. I can't really say the changes have been for the better when it comes to the training camp experience.

Hey South Florida, did you know that you can get tickets to a professional sports game in this town…read morethat don't cost an arm and a leg? I know, it's not Heat, Dolphins, Marlins, or even Panthers. It's the Florida Launch, South Florida's own professional lacrosse team. Playing eight home games a season at FAU in Boca, tickets can be well below twenty dollars a piece. Not familiar with lacrosse? In many ways it is the oldest and newest sport around. Lacrosse was played by Native American Iroquois in the Northeastern United States. At the same time it is one of the fastest growing sports in the United States right now, especially in youth athletics. It seems that every new person I meet has their kid in lacrosse! I think you have to actually watch a lacrosse game to appreciate it. The kids love it because they get to pass the ball with big sticks. It has elements of soccer and hockey. It is fast and physical, usually with more scoring than hockey and baseball. The Launch, started by Casey Powell, one of the best lacrosse players ever, had their inaugural season in 2014. The crowds have definitely increased this year, although I can't say they are filling half of lower bowl at the FAU stadium. It is a fun family event for the kids and anyone who lives or is interested in the game. I am always impressed that the the players always take lots of time to sign autographs after the games. Sometimes they can be there for an hour signing the kids' balls, hats, shirts, and even sticks! It certainly makes the kids even more enthusiastic about coming to the games and gives the whole experience a true hometown, warm, "feel good" experience. Perhaps some of our other professional sports teams could learn from that! The Launch has done a better job of marketing this year with ticket packages and youth clinics. Believe it or not you can check out their games and other MLL games on ESPN! If you like what you see, you may want to come and check out a game in person. There are two more games left for the season...and then there is always next year!

My peak Miami HEAT fandom was 2010-2014 during the Big 3 Era that features Miami Legends Dwyane Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh. I used to go to almost all the games and events during that span. It was a fun 4 year stretch as the Miami HEAT was in the NBA Finals for 4 straight years and won 2 Championships. The championship parade at the historic Biscayne Boulevard was awesome, and the championship celebration inside the arena after the parade was great! Miami HEAT players, coaches and personnel were always nice, met most of them and some of the staff were still working there and my friends to this day. Met them again in recent weeks as I went to a couple of HEAT events. The arena is beautiful, nice ocean and city view from the arena and accessible via bus or train, and parking is available inside the arena and plenty of street parking available. A lot of vendors inside the arena selling good food and drinks, and bars too. I always have a great time and have a five star experience and moments whenever I go to a Miami HEAT game or events. During that time, I attended Game 2 of the 2005 Eastern Conference semifinals versus the Washington Wizards; a 108-102 Heat victory led by Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem. I bought a "Wade County" T-shirt and it was one of my favorite T-shirts. The Heat would later go on to win their first NBA championship the following year (2006). At that time, little did I know Miami would deliver the most heartbreaking loss of my NBA fandom seven to eight years later in Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals. That was the Ray Allen three and the Heat surviving, 103-100 in OT, against the San Antonio Spurs. You see, I was a diehard Tim Duncan-era Spurs fan. But, as Tim said himself after the Spurs won the 2014 title, winning in 2014 made 2013 okay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cHiM4WFpV4 Props to D-Wade, Pat Riley, Erik Spoelstra, and the Heat for winning those three titles in 2006, 2012, and 2013. Shout-out to Chris Bosh, out of Georgia Tech (my alma mater), as well. As much as the Heat were the Spurs' nemesis in 2013-2014, I did think it was impressive how they successfully constructed a roster to complement the Big Three and go to the NBA Finals all four years (2011-2014) of that era. Also, shout-out to Bam Adebayo, who scored 83 points earlier this year (2026), breaking Kobe Bryant's 81 for second-most points scored in a game. Bam played high school ball in my hometown: High Point, North Carolina.

This place has a ways to go. First time at the new Nu stadium and it was pretty sucky…read more First things first getting there. What a shit show. Traffic around the stadium is dumb. We took the trolley and it took us forever to get to the drop off. If you are going to promote patrons taking public transportation you should have dedicated lanes for and drop off for said public transport. Once dropped off, even though you are a couple hundred yards away from the stadium, you have to walk all the way around for at least 15 minutes to get in. The stadium itself is new so that's nice but nothing really exciting about it. If anything, it's pretty basic. From the upper level seats, you can't see the big screen and the air flow up there is horrendous. On a hot July evening, it was like a sauna up there. Again, the food is crazy pricey but I guess that's to be expected. Not a fan of almost everything being some sort of self check out. The experience wasn't horrible but it wasn't good so I was hoping to leave early and beat traffic out cause I expected an even worst shyt show leaving But the game itself was close so we stayed And I was right. The concourse gets super packed. The exits send you in the opposite direction of where you want to go. The trek back to the trolley pick up is treacherous. If you don't critical mass across the street, you can get stuck waiting for an endless amount of cars. And then when you finally get to your trolley pick up, there is no way for the trolleys to get there since they have blocked off the route. I saw at least three trolleys approach the stadium and then turn around because I can only assume they had no other choice. My kids are getting tired and hot from all the walking. It's 11pm, an hour past the time the game ended and nothing. We had to get an expensive uber to get home.

I've been to this venue for a concert before and liked it much better for the Miami Marlins game. This venue is pretty big and I don't love parking at the garages. We usually opt for parking at one of the residential areas for a bit cheaper and to beat some of the traffic closer to the arena. The venue itself is beautiful and made baseball one of my favorite sports to watch. We were playing the LA Dodgers and there were so many Dodger fans but Miami showed out! We won the game for the Japanese Heritage night. I loved that they had a ticket package that came with special jerseys to commemorate the evening. I got to visit friends in different sections and each seat gave a pretty fun view of the game. There was a lot of levels, from the promenade that has a lot of food options, to the kids zone.
