Even though this is the place to see the players practice, there is not much more to do... This Saturday, the heat just beat the moment... Watching them practice only to have 5 (at 3:15) minutes of want to get your autograph and have most of the team not come... Well.. For me it is been there doene that! Would not recommend to others. In my opinion, they should have some players walk with the "fans" for a couple of minutes during practice just to make it worth while for us fans... The cheerleader table was quite nice... Summer. Ever since I was in middle school, that word always meant no school & Dolphins Training Camp. I've consistently attended camp before they closed off the near parking garage for students; before the practice bubble; before the covered VIP bleachers; waaaay before Stephen Ross; toward the end of the Don Shula era On my most recent visit, I felt inclined to express how different the experience has become. Long gone are the days of a welcoming training camp; when I used to park right next to the practice fields. This event used to be open admission. Granted, we don't have to pay for tickets, but it's more of a hassle now. The practice bubble. Oh God, the practice bubble. A light sun shower started to come down & the team went inside for a "5min cooling break." A cooling break?! Give me a break! I get that the NFLPA is much more active nowadays & may perhaps have something to do with it. But damn. The pansification of football extends to the training camp experience. Two-a-day practices used to be open to the public. The media is now covering from the stands. Blocking spectators from their views. What the hell is that about?! They used to be confined to the one maybe two towers on field. Where are these fools coming from? Ugh. Despite all this, I will still come out & support my team when I can. But damn. I can't really say the changes have been for the better when it comes to the training camp experience. read more

I actually went up to see the Miami Dolphins practice at their training camp which is located at Nova Southeastern University in Davie. Firstly the big thing about this practice facility is that finally they have covered the bleachers where we have to sit and watch them practice. This was not available last year and it makes watching the practice more comfortable especially in the blazing Florida sun. They also installed fans with mist blowers which cools the heat a little. Bring a season ticket holder I got invited as one of the events to see them practice and it is actually pretty interesting. This place actually had the field which is an actual football size field, which they use as their outdoor facility, there is also a bubble which they use to simulate their away experiences as they could adjust temperatures to get acclimated to other arenas and away temperatures. One thing to note is that if there is bad weather such as thunder and lightening practice is moved indoors to the bubble where the public is not allowed. There is also a souvenir store where you could get all your Miami Dolphins memorabilia or souvenirs as after practice some of the players come to the bottom of the bleachers to sign autographs for the fans. As far as food goes it's like you are at a hot dog stand, there are your normal juices, water and beer for drinks, as far as food there is stuff like chicken tenders, hot dogs or fries, nothing to fancy but if you need something light to eat this would be available. The parking is pretty good as of course there is a free parking garage where there is ample parking. The only fault of this is that traffic comes from different directions when exiting which could mean at least 30 - 45 minutes exiting if everyone decides to leave at the same time. So a piece of advice is to try to leave at least 5 - 10 minutes before practice and autographs are done so you avoid this as it could be frustrating. Would definitely go back again as I feel this is a great place to go see the Miami Dolphins practice and experience something that only members get to. Date/Driving directions: I attended the August 5, 2:00pm training session at the Miami Dolphins training facility in Davie. Driving directions were easy to navigate. As you drive into the facility there are plenty of signs directing you to parking for training camp. Parking: I parked in the parking garage right next to Dolphins training facility. I would recommend arriving somewhat early to find a parking spot. Even though it was a Wednesday afternoon, parking was still full; I ended up parking on the top level. However, parking is FREE. You can opt to take the elevator or staircase down. I opted for the staircase because I was running a little late finding parking. I brought my backpack with a football and my camera. To enter the facility you have to show the content of your bag(s). Inside the facility/what to bring: The bleachers were 60% full. The day I went it was 90+ degrees, the heat index must have been in the 100's. There is limited seating under shade, so bring sun block, wear a hat, whatever is necessary to stay cool. IT WAS HOT!! But once you're there you are immediately distracted with players running drills on the field in front of you. I took some great photos. I saw people with video cameras and SLR's, but no lenses over 7-8". Practice/Food/Drinks: Drills last about 15 minutes each and then a horn blows. There are what looks to be 2 regulation size football fields. Players are grouped into positions on different parts of the field. So you will eventually see your favorite player(s) up close. After about an hour I was thirsty and went to the concession stand underneath the bleachers. Out of luck, the concession is CASH only. Oh well, I resorted to using the ice-cold water fountain. The concession provides drinks and stadium food (hotdogs, fries, chicken tenders,etc.) There are bathroom facilities as well. Will my kids enjoy it? Will my kids have a good time? Depends on their age and their enthusiasm with the team. I noticed younger kids growing frustrated because of the heat. Kids in their teens were fine and were spotting players by number as they looked at their roster sheets. What happens at the end: Right before practice is about to end, fans start to line up at the fence in front of the bleachers. Practice ends after the players complete light stretching and sprints. At the time some players walk over and give autographs and chat with fans. I brought an autograph ball and got plenty of autographs. Every player on the team does not come over and give autographs. I think they schedule it by day. Remember everyone is trying to get autographs so it will get crowded fast, and you may get squashed, momentarily. I got some nice photos and autographs and called it a day. Would I recommend: Yes, it seemed like most people there enjoyed it. How couldn't you, it's totally FREE? Just remember it can get really hot. Oh, and yeah you can't bring umbrellas. GO DOLPHINS!! read more

My son and I made the drive from Palm Beach County twice this preseason to watch the Dolphins train at Nova Southeastern University.Our tickets were free through the Dolphins' Training Camp web site. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in spite of the heat in South Florida in August. We had no problems parking (which is free, in a garage) either during arrival or leaving. The canopy over the seating and misting fans help keep the heat to a tolerable level. It's neat to sit so close to the action on the field. Today a scrimmage was already in progress when we arrived.The first time we watched, we saw players divided into 4 groups running through drills in different sections of the field, followed by a short scrimmage. Players sign autographs for a few minutes at the end of the practices, which surprised me. Didn't buy any food or drinks because who needs cheese fries at 8:30 in the morning? Concessions are cash only.There is a section where children can go to have items autographed and a Dolphins merchandise shop. Will be back next preseason! read more

Can't go wrong with this event. It is free and covered bleachers are an improvement. Also enjoyed the more kid friendly atmosphere w balloon makers, cotton candy, meet the cheerleaders etc. suggestion is to allow more kids to get pass to get autographs - line to get in w bag check was long. We just missed the player signing....good news we did get autographs at end of game. Thanks to the players after a long hot very hot practice. Bring a clear bag as you will head back to your car if u don't have one. read more

My hubby is a Miami Dolphins season ticket holder and as a perk he gets invited to some really awesome, family fun events being a finatic member. We attended a practice which was held at the Dolphins training facility at Nova Southeastern University in Davie. This year the seating is covered which is great because last year it wasn't! The Florida sunshine can be horrific so covered seating is a must. There was also huge fans and most blowers which really helped with the humidity. The seating area can hold a decent number of people but not a very large crowd. The seating area is fenced off from the field so fans are not able to access however after practice the players etc. usually come by and greet and sign autographs for fans. There is a small concession area for food and drink purchase and there's also a fan shop selling various Dolphins merchandise. Unfortunately due to bad weather-thunder, lightning and heavy rainfall the practice was cancelled and moved to the bubble. Oh how I wish we could have seen them practice in the bubble. The bubble is pretty cool last year we got a tour of the bubble. read more
