I recently visited Miami Bonsai Specialists, located at 15380 SW 232nd St, Miami, FL 33170, and it was a fantastic experience. The place is run by Glenn Hilton and Lourdes Arnaez, a husband-and-wife team with over 35 years of experience in bonsai. Glenn, who is also the president of the Bonsai Society of Miami, brings a wealth of knowledge, and it's clear that both he and Lourdes are truly passionate about what they do. First time I visited this place, I appreciated time that Glenn spent with me showing me around and explaining what their specialty along with one of the best things they offer is their Saturday morning bonsai classes. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, these classes give you the chance to work on your own plants or practice on ones they provide. I have five Desert Rose plants that are 3 to 10 years old, and while I've watched countless YouTube videos on how to repot them as bonsai, I didn't want to take any chances and risk losing them. The class was the perfect way to get hands-on experience with expert guidance. If you enjoy gardening, have plants at home, or have ever been interested in bonsai, this is the place to go. So I came here after reading some reviews from friends about this place and how great their bonsai selections are. As soon as you come in you are greater and welcomed to walk around and just browse through the entire place. After a little while the lady which I think is the owner came by to see if I needed any help or wanted more information on the different types of bonsai and how they cut and prepare them. She is super sweet and truly cares about your experience here and to match you with a great bonsai that fits your needs and level of expertise. I ended up taking two that she recommended and they are super nice. I will be coming back here to take some classes that they give in how to care for and cut your Bonsai. Definitely recommend coming here if you are interested in owning and caring for this incredible small trees. read more

It was so worth the drive!!!! A friend from work mentioned that she has done classes here and purchase bonsai trees. So we went down today and it was a beautiful place. Lourdes was so helpful and even gave my mother in law some clippings to take home of her personal plants. I was blown away! Visiting here on my vacation, I was not prepared for how amazing this place is! It feels more like an art museum or an art gallery than a nursery. Maybe I'm biased because I love plants? I swear that some of the bonsai must have been older than me (43 years). I felt truly spoiled by the owner, for walking around the nursery and answering all my questions. You could definitely feel the passion that they have towards their bonsai business. I 100% recommend a visit here if you are at all interested in gardening or bonsai, or just want to do something outside of Miami off the beaten path. I had the pleasure to meet Lourdes and we had some good conversation about trees and some experience we both been through in the Bonsai world. I bought a very nice Fukien Tea Tree and a few old/small used Pots. I was there for about 1hr and I felt like nothing. She was very welcoming and even gave a rooted cutting from one of her Bougainvilleas I will be moving to Florida/Homestead and definitely will definitely be back. They offer various sizes and shapes from non expensive to some spicy ones just like anywhere else. She is also starting to make her own Bonsai Pots and from what I saw, she's got a bright and busy future ahead of her. My boyfriend and I stopped by this past Sunday because we want to start our own personal bonsai collection together. When we got there Lourdes was just opening up shop and encouraged us to look around. It started raining a lot so we hung out under the canopy and talked with Lourdes and Glenn about the different trees they had. Once the rain cleared up some Glenn walked us around and explained to us about his different trees he's been working on since he started bonsai. Both of them were very knowledgeable about bonsais, and are very kind to those just beginning their own bonsai journey.We ended up leaving with our first two trees, a jade and lantana. 11/10 recommend coming here for they're are very hard workers and deserve the appreciation.
