We hired Brent Knoll and his company to plan and implement a landscape design for our nearly 1/2 acre lot in Biscayne Park. From the first meeting through the most recent round of installation we have been thoroughly impressed by their services. Brent is communicative, resourceful, reliable, and importantly, very talented. The plant material selected not only blends perfectly with our surroundings but is of high quality (Brent handpicks and sources each plant from local farms) and priced reasonably. Brent brings a ton of enthusiasm and regional expertise to his work and continues to be a resource even after the job was complete (i.e. has helped coordinate irrigation follow ups, advised on plant care and maintenance, etc.) Our family highly recommends Brent and his team! read more

Brent's love of his craft is evident by his thoughtfulness on his projects. It's clearly not just a job to him. Any artist needs some creative freedom, and Brent's approach was to buy for our agreed design, but used his discretion to make small tweaks if he came across cool, low maintenance plants at nurseries. I couldn't be happier with his tweaks! Brent transformed my yard from a barren and boring place to a beautiful blend of tropical with various palms and hibiscus, and a butterfly garden with about 20 varieties of flowering plants. I've been enjoying hummingbirds and butterflies I've never seen in any yard while sitting by the pool. Brent cleans up after himself and works fast. He's always up beat, smiling and energetic, and his team is very professional. I couldn't be happier with my yard! read more

We hired Brent Knoll of Knoll Landscape Design to create our dream garden, and he accomplished this and more. We just moved to Miami from Brooklyn and wanted a lush, beautiful environment filled with tropical plants, flowers, and butterflies. Brent responded immediately, and his love of gardens, plants, and creating a serene atmosphere are some of the many reasons we chose him. He is a true professional - extremely knowledgeable about plants, how to tend the garden, soil, fertilizers, and design. We knew that we could trust him. He has created a beautiful butterfly garden, introduced me to new plants, and educated me on how to care for my new babies. He followed up consistently and took care of issues immediately. He has answered all my questions about monarch caterpillars and built my confidence with care and humor. I would recommend highly for any landscaping project. We hired Brent Knoll of Knoll Landscape Design this past spring to design and install our dream garden. We cannot stress enough what a pleasure it was to work with him. From design concept until completion the process was smooth (and it all occurred during the height of the pandemic). Brent listened to us, made good suggestions and worked hard to get us exactly what we wanted within our budget. He is knowledgeable about plant material, the right plant for the right location and the sizes needed to remain within a client's budget. He was also remarkably adaptable as our plans and ideas regularly changed over time on a near daily basis. We worked together as a team and are all so proud of the result. Our yard was transformed from a barren and entirely devoid of character and animal life to an exotic tropical landscape attracting native butterflies, birds, bees, and ladybugs. We now have a wonderful variety of spectacular flowering plant life including firebush, ruby red pentas, milkweed, corky stem, giant porter weed, Madagascar butterfly bush, necklace pod, heirloom pink pentas and lantana to name but a few. Our relatively small lot has grown in depth, interest and complexity and brings us much joy on a daily basis. It has been only a few months but the garden looks like it has been there forever. Checkout the pictures below!! Last, we couldn't recommend any business more highly than Knoll Landscape Design. The process was explained to us in advance and each step happened on schedule (discussion/photos/exchange of ideas and options/development of plan-drawing of yard with all plants in position); when changes were made at our behest every effort was made to do so without increasing overall costs (where these decreased costs this was reflected in the final invoice!) and Brent showed up on time nearly every time notifying us by text message of any delay Judy O. read more

We were very happy to work with Brent for our driveway project because of his great reviews. His wonderful reviews on this site were absolutely correct. During our initial consultation, he came over and learned about our lifestyle and how our home flows. Then, his talented wife, Sarah created CAD design of what we envisioned of our driveway/landscaping. This was extremely helpful because we actually saw what our home will look alike, and also very useful because we used it to get permits. He also recommended our contractor for driveway installation, who was excellent. Brent is an artist. He sees things that most average Joe doesn't see. In the world of landscapers, he is the Jedi of his field. We love coming home to our new entrance, plus all our neighbors are commenting how great it looks. Good job Brent! Johan S. read more

Seeking a landscaper was daunting especially when I live 3,000 miles across the country. I have a vacation home in the Doral, FL area on the market currently and my real estate agent suggested I add 6 palms trees in the backyard for additional privacy and to damper the traffic noise. I searched on yelp and found 3 landscapers. Brent was most affordable and knowledgeable of the three. He called me back the same day I left him a voicemail and requested I take some pics of the backyard with the area dimensions and email it to him. This saved me $$$ as an on site consultation will cost over $100.00 He provided me an invoice the same day and I submitted the deposit through PayPal. It was just too easy!!! He assured me he will be on site and will send me pics after completion. Happy to report I'm in love with my tropical paradise. If your looking for a professional and honest landscaper I highly recommend Knoll Landscape. Ps. The name of the palm tress are ARECA. They are thick & full approx. 8 Feet. read more

I just moved to Miami from downtown Chicago and was CRAVING a natural, native garden that would attract birds, bees and butterflies. I read some articles that Brent Knoll had written and also read his reviews on various sites. I have to pat myself on the back for picking Brent to give me the garden that I needed in my life. He is so intuitive and fun to work with. His pricing is fair and he does what he says he will do. Brent is fantastic! read more

My wife was totally excited about using this company. She did a ton of research and Knoll Landscape Design just seemed like the right fit. Brent (the owner) was extremely nice and even got me excited about our garden, which has never happened before. He had some great ideas, was very professional, and he didn't even charge us a consultation fee. So why am I only giving three stars? Actually, I was first going to give two stars but felt bad about it, but truly believe two stars would have been the correct review. The reason for the low rating is because Brent's enthusiasm to help us diminished tremendously when we told him that we were going to start with his minimum of $5,000 and then go in stages and continue spending in the future, rather than the $25,000 at once. It was a Friday and we were supposed to get some ideas by Monday. We didn't get a response at all until the middle of the week after my wife sent him a message. He said he was tied up and would get back to us in a few days. A few days later, one week after we were supposed to get our original message, he told us he was too busy to work with us. I sell luxury real estate for a living and treat people exactly the same whether they are spending $15,000,000 or $150,000. This company doesn't. This is the reason for my rating. ****UPDATE**** I don't appreciate his comments below about me leaving comments that are malicious and untrue. If you read the tone of the review, it is pretty obvious that I'm not being malicious. Also, although, my wife was late, we were still within our time frame for the consultation. He chose to extend and not charge us. We were ok paying for the consultation. I guess in summary, the point I was trying to make was that Brent is a nice guy and seems like he is skilled, BUT if you don't have a BIG job for him, you are perhaps better off going somewhere else. read more

I highly recommend Knoll Landscape Design! I discovered Brent Knoll while researching Miami-based landscape designers to help me with adding my own special signature touch to the front yard of the family home I was renovating. His website was a wealth of information on everything I needed to know--- tropical Florida plants, installing Zen Gardens, Healing Sanctuaries, Butterfly and Edible Gardens--the works! I scheduled a consultation and was quickly impressed not only by Brent's level of experience and vast knowledge about landscaping in South Florida, but his sincere passion and eye for natural beauty. I am so happy that I hired him and his team. They performed the work on schedule and followed up consistently to make sure everything was going well. I appreciated Brent's genuine TLC to make sure he understood my vision, was able to enhance it, and work within my budget. Knoll Landscape Design - original invoice for services not rendered. - Landscaping Near Me

I have been working with Brent for over a year. Gardening seem so easy, just plant some seeds right? It is not. First gardening in zone 11 is crazy and none of the mainstream gardening advice works in FL. Brent knows what grows when. He knows what bugs are eating my plants and how to avoid pests ORGANICALLY. My wife thought I was crazy when I started working with Brent, but after she tasted the first tomato, I was a hero. He was even great with my kids, teaching them how to patiently and delicately report and plant plugs of lettuce and broccoli. They now have an early understand of where REAL food comes from, what it tastes like, and how hard it is to grow and produce it. All winter I was able to trim some lettuce greens, a few herbs, and a pull a few cherry tomatoes to make a fresh, tasty, organic salad twice a week! Brent showed me the true transformation from empty dirt weed farmer to creating a truly "Healing Garden" for my entire family. read more

Brent Knoll loves and knows dirt and plants; I don't know plants and I kill cacti. We built a pool and our entire backyard was a hot mess that needed attention after 6 month of getting beat up by pool construction. at first, we thought we would just lay sod and be done with it, but after you spend 30K on a pool, it kinda blows to enjoy it in an ugly space. We called 3 landscapers after doing our homework on yelp and home advisor. Brent returned our call right away and said could not make it to our house until the week after b/c his mom was in town (1 point for being good to his mom and communicating). Call #2 to another landscaper arrived for a quote before Brent and has great reviews on home advisor but we asked him to send us an email with the quote and details and never heard back. Call #3 to another landscaper went unanswered; like another reviewer said here "guess they didn't want our $." Brent followed up just like he said the week after, reviewed the land, and came up with a 1st draft design sent via email (pdf file) with name of plants and ideas in approx 1 wk. hubby and I reviewed and talked to him about our thoughts. After we talked, he made some changes. The communication was open the entire time during the design and even after the design. He and his crew showed up on schedule and finished just as expected (job started less than 1 wk of design finish). It's ridiculous how happy you get when service is delivered as expected. he fixed our front yard and gave it curb appeal. he fixed our back yard and created a beautiful space for us to enjoy for a long time cuz i'm sure i'll be buried in this money pit of a house. he created a hedge after our fence and gate were finished, which was weeks after he completed the initial job. the hedge was part of the plan and he got paid for it even before it was done b/c plants were delivered but he came back to finish the job. I would work with him again, and high recommend him. we have done everything to this house: kitchen, floors, bathrooms, etc, and most every contract we do is a delay and a headache but he is a pleasure. it has been approximately 3 months since did the job at our house and we still ask him questions about plant care, tree care, etc. he is very responsive. I am surprised that he did not return someone's call that left him a 1 star review but life happens and maybe he was busy working on my house that day. I would try him again. Pricing: he does not do work less than 4K, which at first was shocking to me until I realized how expensive stuff is and now I wish I would have spent 4K. we needed lots of sod and sod is expensive and his quote was comparable to quote #1 received from another landscaper. he's a designer, a delicate genius, so he gets paid like one. Again, I would hire him! he worked with our budget too and changed some plants, and got younger trees to accommodate our pockets. it's not cheap to do landscaping but so glad we did. The consultation is $150 and the design and pdf doc is $500 i think, but he does work with you. He is a master at his craft. read more

Once we received the estimate and we agreed to the work, he started promptly the next week. The entire front and back yard was completed within 3 days. My friend Matthew has really enjoyed gardening since moving from being just down the street from me in Doral to a bigger house in Kendall. I've watched his facebook posts and seen his photos and also seen what he accomplished when I've visited him and his family. I've been thinking about redoing some of my 17 year old builder installed landscaping and when I met Brent at a get-together at Matt's place, well, it made sense to stop thinking and get him over to help me make a plan. Brent has been very professional all the way through and helped me not only to select something to plant in a shady spot that needed something, but really made a difference in my yard. We collaborated mostly in emails and texts with photos to decide on specific plants, and I beleive we made a nice selection of native plants that will do well in the difficult soil of Doral. His organic "super soil" should help too. He had the hard work of removing a tree and a stump, bushes that were in the ground for 17 years, along with palm roots in the same area. He did the work quickly, came when he said he would, came over to inspect afterward, and is sending care instructions so that I have success in the future. I now have plumbago bushes with small blue flowers all of the time, and a small blue butterfly that likes to flit around them often visible. I have two new trees in front where I had a dead one and a stump from days gone by. I have small jasmine plants that someday will become a fragrant bush (they already are, but after only three weeks, they are small and not as impactful as they will be). I have a banana tree in the back to go along with my 4-5 year old mango. I have more jasmine, and several plants that will attract butterflies and hummingbirds. I've already started to see them in the yard. I also now have a raised bed herb and veggie garden planted with seasonal vegetables. The eggplant is already getting a small fruit forming. My basil is taking off and I think I may need to make some pesto. I'm hoping to plant lettuce and tomatoes when the season is right. I'm having Brent come back to add raspberries on a trellis, grape vines on the same one, and a lemon tree. My yard is not large, but now it is much more than fenced grass with Bougainvilla bushes along the fence, which are nice. It's good to have more, especially with it being an edible garden too. I look forard to working with Brent more, not just because of the intiial install work, but because I know from the way he has worked with Matt, and the discussions we've had, that I'll have his help if I have gardening questions in the future. read more

This included planning, ideation, vision, and execution. We were happy to have our garden ready for our winter visitors and friends. He also worked with our sprinkler guy to ensure the design and irrigation worked smoothly. He has been following up with us to ensure all the plants we got are working as expected. I contacted Knoll Landscape Design via email and received a response the following business day via telephone. Because I did not know what kind of landscaping would be appropriate for the space, Brent made an appointment to come and see me. My time is my most important commodity and I really appreciated the fact that Brent showed up on time as promised and promptly followed up with several options for a landscape design. Brent's recommendations were easy to understand, well thought out and educational. I was also happy to see how approachable Brent was and his enthusiasm for landscaping clearly showed. Based on Brent's thorough approach to establishing a new design, I was not at all surprised at how well the installation went. Brent and his team showed up exactly as promised and delivered a landscaped garden in a timely and organized manner. The installation was clean and precise; yet it doesn't feel fabricated. Brent also came in under budget. In addition to a fantastic landscape design, Brent has created an environment where butterflies flourish. There are species of butterflies that call the garden home now that I have never previously seen. I also had a herb and vegetable garden installed. I have more herbs than I know what to do with and my friends look forward to me bringing them freshly cut herbs of all kinds. I manage to eat from many different varieties of vegetables that grow very happily from Brent's creations. In due time, along with the new plantings also came different types of bugs that flourish on the trees that I want to remain beautiful. Brent also knows how to fix these problems in a responsible and environmentally friendly way. Without using harsh pesticides, Brent knows how to manage whatever problems that may arise. When certain plants don't work out in certain locations, Brent is there to replace and fix whatever the issues are. I am very happy with the design and functionality of the new installation. Brent continues to help me with whatever issues that arise. I am lucky to have found him. read more

His knowledge of what plants work well in direct sun or indirect sun, as well as what kinds of flowers/plants/trees/shrubs would look really great together was outstanding. We hired Brent to help us with our backyard remodel. My Husband is an architect & I'm a designer but we were having trouble agreeing on our visions for our yard. In stepped Brent to the rescue! He was able to successfully find the happy medium between what we both wanted. Coming from a construction background I was expecting a full drawing & presentation. I was a bit hesitant when he explained for a small project that is not necessary but we trusted and he was right. He met us several times before we started to discuss types of plants & placement. He made sure to address our family needs for safe plantings (we have a toddler & a dog). He created a colorful ecosystem that now bring butterflies & birds that our daughter enjoys and all the plants are safe for our curious Mini schnauzer. I believe he has a minimum contract cost but he is budget conscious & works with you on your constraints.
