(We are immature.) What Pho King lacks in ambiance is made up for in FLAVOR! My chicken vermicelli bowl was the kinda dish I could grub on everyday. The servings are ample, and it's a good thing because I could eat my weight in the seared meat, pickled veggies, and well-dressed rice noodles. While the environment leaves much to be desired, I found myself not caring one bit as I slurped up my noodles and discussed fish sauce with my friends. Give Pho King a try! The drinks are so amazing, I love their in house Thai tea, with boba. Their fruity drinks are really good. They have a wide selection of boba teas and refreshers. I'm not a coffee drinker because I hate the taste of coffee, but tried the Thai frozen coffee and bc I hate the taste of coffee I didn't care for it, but the people there that got the coffees and they got some with boba all seem to really love it. So don't base the coffee drinks off of me, I hate coffee. However love the Thai tea. There are sandwiches and foods here too, I've had a sandwich and crab watons and those were very delicious! The cilantro wasn't soapy, the shrimp and chicken were sliced as thin as the rice wrap and flavorful beyond compare. The rice noodles were a cold and perfectly sticky consistency that added a bit of perfection to the overall consistency. The lettuce crunched, the carrots snapped and the peanut butter sauce absolutely banged. Pro-tip: if the chef suggests you stir in a little of her homemade hot sauce, do it. Three words: Off. The. Chain. The first $5 order of two rolls hit the spot, but didn't satisfy my craving. And when I say "didn't satisfy" I mean I could've ate 20 of the dang things before settling into a food coma. I didn't just want more, I needed more. So, I ordered more assuming I'd have a snack when I got home an hour later. Didn't happen. The rolls didn't make it out of the parking lot. Before I even turned the ignition over I had the second order of Vietnamese heaven demolished and devoured, not even a tuft of cilantro left lingering on the styrofoam serving tray. Overall a great experience. Stopped for a little snack and had my life changed. Despite being in the food court of a mall, it's a dead mall, the mood was chill and relax. It is advisable to visit the restaurant's Facebook page before you go to the restaurant. It will save time and save your neck, from trying to read the menu that is mounted up on the wall. Stewed chicken pieces smothered in a seasoned gravy over a big pile of rice with a little cabbage on the side. The gravy tasted like it may have been seasoned with Chinese Five Spice. The meat was good and it tasted fine, but overall boring and not recommended. I had the Super Bowl. All the meats on this bowl were good. Bright red Char siu style chicken, good tender beef slices, and excellent tempura fried shrimp. All stacked on a big pile of rice noodles with a few slices of cabbage on the side. Diamond Head 2, a version of average Chinese food. Then there are these repurposed flip top Parmesan cheese containers (think Kraft Parmesan cheese bottles.) Roasted chicken, fried shrimp and some braised beef on top of noodles, onions and cabbage. Seems to me like home cooking and it was delicious! I will try to stop in every time I come through town. Fort Smith is super lucky to have this place and I would love to have it in Memphis.
