Noticed that in this town of Arkansas there are quite a few small businesses. This place was a hidden gem. You're lucky to get a table in there because it's tiny. They have a variety on their menu! Back in Texas I've always wanted to try Papaya Salad luckily I got to try it here for the first time. My plate consisted of papaya salad, wings, and sticky rice. Wings cooked to perfection, great crunch simple no sauce mixed in. I dipped the wings in a chili not spicy whatsoever. The papaya salad you had the option to choose the Lao or Thai style: I went with the Lao style which had shrimp paste a little more pungent. Loved it, it was refreshing and spicy to my likings. I was able to choose how many peppers to add. Two peppers were enough for me, not crazy spicy just enough for me. Definitely worth for what you pay for because there portions were HUGE. Volcano chicken was great, not too spicy and had a sauce with different chilies. The Pad Kee Mao had so much flavor to it. I ordered a combination which had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. Loved the thick noodles, bunch of veggies to which is a great balance. Topped it off with some sriracha for some extra kick. Overall, I could tell this place made the food with love. Three tables inside and a corresponding number of parking spots outside. Fortunately, most of the business is to go. You can probably snag a table if you are a little early or a little late, missing the 12 o'clock diners. As far as the parking, just try to squeeze in somewhere. You may have to park across the street. Don't be discouraged, you have to eat here. The food is fantastic! Starting with ...... The best egg drop soup I have ever had anywhere! Bright, freshly made, a noticeable egg yok flavor, smooth, filled with strands of egg white. Big crispy wonton strips on the side provide a satisfying crunch. Mouthwatering deliciousness! I got the Orange Chicken lunch special. A plate full of fried chicken breast chunks, bathed in sauce that was orange in color and very orange in flavor. Fried rice and a good egg roll. It was great. My wife got the winning meal; Ultimate Fried Rice. And Ultimate it was. Fried rice with big shrimp, chicken, beef and pork. I tasted of each of the meats. The beef and the pork were my favorites. My wife liked the shrimp. I thought the beef was delicious. Very nice lean cuts of beef, with a flavor like home made pot roast. The pork was of equal quality. The Ultimate Fried Rice is recommended. Ft Smith has many fine Asian restaurants. Asian Kitchen Express was recognized a few years ago as one of the top Asian carry out restaurants. I just happen to have a craving for Chinese food and jumped on Yelp to sort through my options. This place wasn't at the top of the results list but it had some higher ratings and better reviews than most of the others. I snagged a few friends/coworkers and drove the 12 minutes to get there. I have to admit, driving into the neighborhood had me a little worried. Not in a dangerous sense, It was just not where I expected a Chinese restaurant to be. My directions took me through the neighborhood and out onto a commercial/business road that looked more like my vision. The building was much smaller than I expected, and actually fairly easy to miss. Inside has only a few tables, but it looks like most of their business is take-out or online door deliveries anyway. There was a constant flow of people picking up orders. The place is super clean and modestly decorated. Nothing like the typical Chinese restaurant decor I'm used to seeing. Staff was very prompt and extra attentive. Super helpful with the menu because I was looking outside my comfort zone into Thai food. I ended up coming twice before punching out this review. It was simply just that good. Free refills on the drinks! The food took a little longer to prepare, but Holy Shangdi was it worth the wait!! No way is anything I ate frozen. Everything seemed fresh and made to order. The sauces were perfect. I can't think of anything negative about the food. Even the prices were what I expected. My first trip I actually got the Ultimate Fried Rice. The second time I got Pad Ki Mao. Both times I got sweet rice with mango, which is a completely different world. My friends got sweet and sour chicken which I was able to sample. I've never heard of it but I'm definitely getting it from now on. The warm sweet rice is topped perfectly with chilled mango slices! I think both my entrées were around $10 each. An order of sweet rice was a little less than that, and my sweet tea was a couple of bucks. I had dinner with dessert, with leftovers each time for less than $20. This is definitely a hidden jem that is worth stopping by to try. For months now i have been noticing good comments about this tiny asian restaurant , so i thought i would take the wife in for a late lunch. The staff were very friendly and informative. The food was undoubtedly the best asian cusine i have had in fort smith and van buren. This will become my go place when i get the urge. Loved the Pho and egg rolls which were the best. My wife tried the Moo Goo Gai Pan, It was the best entre that she has had, she is sold also on this establishment. My husband and I are visiting from California. I love finding Lao restaurants and tasting how differently people make Lao food around the world. We ordered: - papaya salad (Lao style) - Yum beef salad - salt and pepper shrimp - chicken wings (plain AND Korean style) - and they were kind enough to throw in rangoons Everything tasted great!!!! We ate in the car so didn't get pictures, but believe it was all amazing! And they definitely showed Lao hospitality during our quick visit. Next time I will ask for extra jalepeños in my dish because I wasn't sure how spicy it would be, but if you like spicy, ask for extra peppers. The iced coffee was great as well. My husband is diabetic and white rice is a no go, but they have brown rice and will make any of their rice dishes with it. It tastes just like the white version and was simply amazing! Service was excellent and super friendly! Food was awesome and they didn't dumb it down. Spicy, sour, great fermented fish sauce flavors! Yes!!! We had Laotian green papaya salad, which was served with a few fried chicken wings, and we ordered Thai spicy- perfect! Seafood salad wonderfully sweet and spicy, Red Curry was phenomenal! This place is tiny, like you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. But once you find it, holy moly! The waitress was attentive, and charismatic. Everything tasted super authentic, even the hot tea was amazing! I had the seafood salad which was fragrant and covered in fresh herbs and veggies. My friend had the vegetable yellow curry, and she said that the veggies were cooked perfectly and it was the most well seasoned curry she's had in a long time. WOW was I mad at myself... We drove by this place for two years before we finally stopped in. Family run, Mom does all the cooking and it shows! The food is always good. Not like a lot of places where the same menu item is good one time and not the next. There are not a lot of places to get good asian food in Ft. Smith in fact so far this is the only consistantly good place we've found. The folks are friendly and we try to support them whenever possible. read more

I've only eaten takeout from here once but it was very good. Had order of drunken noodles(Pad kee Mao) with chicken, very tasty and lightly spicy. Fried dumplings, 10 per order were yummy. Spicy pineapple fried rice with chicken was very good. My order was ready when I arrived. I definitely plan on eating there again. read more

Placed an order through Waitr and the delivery driver didn't show up for some reason. When they couldn't reach him they actually drove the food down themselves just so we could try it out.
