If you're Asian, better to ask for Asian version; otherwise, too much sugar. I don't what I was thinking. Someone had suggested that I go to Merle's Steakhouse, but it was closed. I decided to try this place. When I was in Ohio, I used to be friends with a family running a Chinese restaurant who probably had the biggest crowd in the Cincinnati area for authentic Chinese food. They made dishes as close to what you'd find in China as you could get almost anywhere. China Fun isn't that place, but there is no competition in Alma. I ordered the Broccoli in Garlic Sauce and a Mountain Dew. It was over $10, which was a bit shocking, considering the food elsewhere in town. I paid it and hoped for something really good. What I got was so sweet that I almost couldn't eat it. After a while, the woman running the place asked me how it was. I apologized and told her that it was so sweet that it was difficult to eat. We talked a little about their typical customers and I understood. They're the only Asians here. She took it back and they re-did the sauce, Asian-style. It tasted more like garlic, less like Aunt Jemima's pancake syrup fell on it. It was good this time. I felt bad about complaining but wow. She was friendly, and I could see that they go tremendously fast because they have a busy business.

My family is from California. There are good Chinese restaurants on every corner. But here in Arkansas it is hard to find a good Chinese restaurant. At China Fun I feel like we struck gold. This place is amazing!!!

Good selection. Modest buffet. Obvious that there were regulars there because they knew names of staff.

They have a variety on their menu! Back in Texas I've always wanted to try Papaya Salad luckily I got to try it here for the first time. My plate consisted of papaya salad, wings, and sticky rice. Wings cooked to perfection, great crunch simple no sauce mixed in. I dipped the wings in a chili not spicy whatsoever. The papaya salad you had the option to choose the Lao or Thai style: I went with the Lao style which had shrimp paste a little more pungent. Loved it, it was refreshing and spicy to my likings. I was able to choose how many peppers to add. Two peppers were enough for me, not crazy spicy just enough for me. Definitely worth for what you pay for because there portions were HUGE. Volcano chicken was great, not too spicy and had a sauce with different chilies. The Pad Kee Mao had so much flavor to it. I ordered a combination which had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. Loved the thick noodles, bunch of veggies to which is a great balance. Topped it off with some sriracha for some extra kick. Overall, I could tell this place made the food with love. Our waitress was super nice and helpful! In the future once I'm back in this area I'd love to try more off their menu.

You can probably snag a table if you are a little early or a little late, missing the 12 o'clock diners. As far as the parking, just try to squeeze in somewhere. You may have to park across the street. Don't be discouraged, you have to eat here. The food is fantastic! Starting with ...... The best egg drop soup I have ever had anywhere! Bright, freshly made, a noticeable egg yok flavor, smooth, filled with strands of egg white. Big crispy wonton strips on the side provide a satisfying crunch. Mouthwatering deliciousness! I got the Orange Chicken lunch special. A plate full of fried chicken breast chunks, bathed in sauce that was orange in color and very orange in flavor. Fried rice and a good egg roll. It was great. My wife got the winning meal; Ultimate Fried Rice. And Ultimate it was. Fried rice with big shrimp, chicken, beef and pork. I tasted of each of the meats. The beef and the pork were my favorites. My wife liked the shrimp. I thought the beef was delicious. Very nice lean cuts of beef, with a flavor like home made pot roast. The pork was of equal quality. The Ultimate Fried Rice is recommended. Ft Smith has many fine Asian restaurants. Asian Kitchen Express was recognized a few years ago as one of the top Asian carry out restaurants. Whether you eat in or grab food to go from this very small shop, it is one of the best in Ft Smith. Friendly service and great food.

It was close to the hotel we were staying at. She had dined at the restaurant several time and enjoyed it. We were seated immediately since there restaurant wasn't too busy. We arrived early dwrong the dinner run. That decor of the restaurant was very inviting and absolutely.spotless. Carla, our server, was very personable and asked if we had any questions about the menu. My sister-in-law recommended the Hot Sour Soup. I ordered a cup of it plus some fried spring rolls stuffed with shrimp. For our entrees, my wife gravitated to her favorite Chinese entree, Kung Pao Chicken. I decided to try the Twice Cooked Pork with steamed rice. After a short wait, our soups and spring rolls arrived. I must say the Hot Sour soup was incredible. I regret I didn't order a mole of it. As I was enjoying every spoonful, my tummy was very happy. The spring rolls were right out of the fryer fan piping hot. They were so good, fried to perfection. Our entrees arrived and, of course, with Chinese food, we could shared a platter and still had been full. But my wife and I always like different things. Her Kung Pao Chicken was exceptional. My twice cooked pork had the perfect heat level and was seasoned wonderfully. It had sautéed cabbage and other vegetable along with slices of pook. Some of the pork slices were very tender but others were tough. But, overall, the entree was enjoyable and Carla provided excellent service. Thank you Hunan Palace. Next time we're in town, we''ll stop in again.
