It actually lines some city streets. It's a lovely market, with the friendly offerers of fresh produce snd prepared foods. The produce looked wonderful, and I picked up some lovely snap peas and tomatoes. For the latter, it was delicious tamales, lumpia and salmon jerky. Also, I picked up a jar of honey from one of my favorite apiaries -- a women-owned producer called Miss Bee Haven. Very casual and homey.

Even though this is a cash only location which also provides two ATM machines inside, we can always find the needed necessities from fruit, to veggies, to flowers and you pick options. A pretty decent sized establishment, which is open every day of the week except on Wednesdays. They have a pretty decent sized parking lot and on the premises most of the time you'll find up to two food vendors. This time around I really enjoyed the flower picking option which you can get a very large bundle for five dollars then you can also visit outback of their establishment of the very large harvesting area of their crops. Lots of produce provided by lots of local vendors brought in by large bin loads.. This time, I also noticed that they have peanuts that you can pick from a bin inside as well. The best part of all is their pricing that is offered on their produce. Again, great location, surrounded by great wineries as well.

It was a tad smaller than I thought it would be, covering about 2-3 short town blocks. But, they do pack a lot of booths within this space. Come for the great weather & scenery, an easy stroll, small-town bliss, to connect with community, street musicians, people watch and of course to shop. Even if prices for products & produce--organic or otherwise--are likely equivalent to, or even higher than you can find just about anyplace else. Fruit vendors generously offer free samples, a nice touch. I was hoping for a more preferable choice of hot food vendors, such as a baked potato vendor that I heard had been out here in markets past. But, didn't see them and wasn't impressed with the other offerings this time. Also disappointingly, prices at most of the food stalls aren't clearly posted if at all. And when learned, rival those at full-service sit-down restaurants. For those not in the know or visiting for the first time, both parking & entrance to the market are free. However, parking in the lower blocks of 1st St. where the market is held gets kinda tight, especially towards later hours into the event. Smarter move would dictate getting here early when the market first opens. Market is pet-friendly. Unlike the annual large Peddler's Faire event held once a year in downtown Benicia (usually in August), the farmer's market is free of alcohol serving booths. More a family event-atmosphere. But, it wouldn't be hard either for a patron to dip into one of the nearby streetside restaurants to toss back a few, if they were so inclined. They even had a street masseuse booth set up, although I can't comment on pricing. Porta potty set-up's are only at 1 end of the market near the Marina side. So, that's something to think about for us bladder-compromised folks, lol.

The buck stops here! The store manager had to be called as I wanted a refund. I told him that all grocery stores in the are, even overpriced Safeway charges far less for a quart; $ 1.98 and al their products are price labelled. He snapped back: "Then go buy it there!" Thanks! I will! I'm done with you! I know "El de 2 Oros "for over 15 years and it used to have price labels on products and fairly reasonable prices. Not anymore! Since the Covid hysteria --which they still practice by running around in masks-- They no longer label anything and their prices have gone through the roof. Carpe Diem, greed is good? Milk & bilk? I once got slapped with almost $ 30.- charge for a few apples and oranges! So a couple of years ago I suggested to the store manager to do at least a price range labeling as it would give buyers a fair chance and decision and not get sucker punched once the cashier rung all up and then having to wait for an refund/exchange process. Nah, to much work... I'm done with them! As a consumer, a client and I have the right to know the price of items before and not "after the fact" purchase!

I was on a mission for Lengua, so I asked if he would make me a Plato, and BOY did he (see pics) Rice, beans and Crispy, but tender diced Lengua were paired with a nice side of grilled veggies, 2 thick homemade tortillas, Pico, red & green salsa, guacamole, sour cream, pickled peppers & carrots and chips... DUDE that's a Plato! If this Togo plate is any indication, it will be fun trying more items. Da Service: Nice folks, fairly quick. I ordered off menu, and they gladly accommodated. Another spot near home for quick meals of real food... so happy. Variety & quality is a plus, pricing inline w/ quality, portion value appreciated - can't wait to try out the rest of the menu.

But they have plenty of alternatives if you aren't feeling like tacos. I ended up getting Al Pastor, Asada, and Suadero. Suadero was okay but the Al Pastor was amazing. I lived in San Diego and I've had a hard time finding good pastor since I moved back. Freshly sliced with slice of pineapple was perfect! They have all the fixings in bins with tongs for you to pack in sandwich bags they have available. Only thing is, it seems like kind of a roll of the dice from a food safety standpoint, but hey, "street" tacos aMiRiTe? Haha. Overall fast service, great tacos. Especially for the price of $4/taco. I'd give it five stars but had to knock it down for the food safety aspect.

They're located in American Canyon in the Lola's Market plaza, next to the pho restaurant. We arrived around 4 PM on a weekday, and there were only about three occupied tables. Although staff saw us come in, no one greeted us. After waiting a few minutes, I finally asked if we could sit anywhere. We were seated near the door and received menus shortly afterward. A gentleman came over to take our order and asked if we wanted water. We waited about 20 minutes, possibly longer, for our food. Unfortunately, our water never arrived, and our order came out incorrectly. We ordered six pupusas but only received four. Nobody explained which pupusas were which, so we ended up accidentally eating each other's food. As for the food itself, I wasn't impressed. The pupusas were much too soft and mushy for my taste. The beans were chunky, which is something I've never experienced before in a pupusa. Having eaten pupusas from countless places over the years, I know there are much better options out there. Overall, I won't be returning. The prices are high for what you receive, and the poor service made the experience even more disappointing. Eating out and supporting local businesses is already expensive, and when both the food and service fall short, it's hard to justify coming back.

It stayed hot and fresh. They are thick and full of meat and cheese. And so delicious! It was wayyyyy too much food. I could have ordered 3 for us. One pupusa filled me up !
