Robert, Linda & Nancy
Ron M.

Met up with a couple Nancy has known for several years, Robert & Linda. We ate lunch at Mi Cocina in Plano. Nancy had the "Taco Salad"; Picadillo Beef, Romaine, Iceberg Lettuce, Aged Cheddar, Jack Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Pico de Gallo, y Tortilla Strips. I ordered the "Tacos Habana"; Chile Adobo Chicken, Onion, Cilantro, Corn Tortillas, Pica-Pica, Avocado Ensalada, y Arroz Verde. They also provide you with fresh chips and red sauce to enjoy while there, and they refill often. We chatted for some time before ordering, while eating, and after eating. It's been a long time since they last saw each other and had a lot to catch up on. Our food arrived, and all was a beautiful presentation. Each Mexican Restaurant serves its food differently, and they did that with the Taco Salad. The Shell is filled with Picadillo Beef to the top with the rest of the goodies underneath and all around. Nancy enjoyed all that she ate, and I finished off the rest - and it was all good stuff. Nicely seasoned beef and very tasty Taco Salad. My Tacos Havana was also very good, and a good amount of everything. I ate all of mine - no leftovers here. The chips and red sauce were also really good, with just the right amount of spiciness. Check out Mi Cocina at; http://www.micocina.com - they have several locations all around Dallas & Fort Worth area - and then some.

I recently went to Mi Cocina with family on a Friday night. We didn't have a reservation and we only had a short wait. Though they had a large party down the middle of the room & it was hard to get between their chairs, I'm not sure how the servers kept coming back & forth. Our server also seemed new & nervous. He didn't write down things we asked for so we usually had to ask a couple times. The food was great! I usually order the chili relleno which I don't think is on the menu but man it's so good! This time I decided to try a salad. Omg! It was AMAZING! When I first got it, I was like this thing is so small but then I started eating it & it lost its shape & figured out it was huge. I didn't finish it. I do wish there was slightly more chicken & a little less dressing but those are easy requests. Overall I enjoyed the food & would go back.

Dinner at Mi Cocina was such a vibe! Came here with my husband for a date night and everything was spot on. We got the beef fajitas -- they came out sizzling, loaded with perfectly grilled steak, onions, peppers, and crispy potato wedges. So good! All the sides were fresh -- guac, pico, beans, rice, and chips -- super tasty and plenty to share. We sat outside on the patio with a glass of red wine, and it was just the perfect chill evening. Service was great too -- friendly and fast without being too much. Definitely one of our go-to spots now when we're in Plano!

Number 10 lunch special

This is the second Mi Cocina spot I have been too in Dallas and this was way better than the other one. First off the ambiance was great. There was indoor and outdoor. Was seated outdoor per request and they had a small pond of water outside which was really nice the warm weather. Service was good gave us refills on their chips and salsa, which was very good. I ordered the number 10 special which was the pork tamales with rice and beans. The presentation, portion and taste were all great. Would recommend coming here for their lunch special as you get a good amount of food for a good price

First of all, I have never had ground beef in enchiladas. I will leave it at that. Let's be honest, I am surrounded by A LOT of good Mexican food but, I am also not a fan of Tex Mex. I've tried. This is my 3rd time in Dallas visiting my friend and each time I leave thinking "people like this?" I'm sorry! It's just a preference. I met a lady at the airport who even brought this place up! I don't want queso with every meal and all the queso's I've tried has been okay. I've had a better one at a restaurant in Palm Springs. The service was fantastic so I gave it 3 stars. It was also fun to hang out with my friend and her friends. (sorority sisters -- we old though) The salsa was good. I enjoyed that. Oh, and something about the mambo taxi being dangerous.

Cool entrance that opens up to a horseshoe bar with tons of tables and booths. It was Trivia night, so they only had the Stanley Cup playoff on one TV. Sat down at the bar and ordered my Guinness and reviewed the menu. There were a couple of selections I was interested in (always gravitate to Bangers n' Mash), but went with the fish & chips with French Onion soup. Get these together, because the fish is delicious in the beef broth of the French Onion! It was good, though fish could've used a little more batter with the thick walleye filets. I loved it all and enjoyed the conversation with the bartender with the I Love Indie Horror hat. Some good ones out there that aren't being made like they use to!!

After we paid our bill with a credit card, I noticed that we were charged a 3% credit card fee. That was a first, and likely began in April since our last visit was on 3/24/26 and no credit card fee was assessed. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned there would be a credit card fee, nor was it articulated by a bartender. That sort of fee makes me wonder what's going on in this establishment. Not sure we'll be back.

We had an amazing first experience at Dirty Birds and will absolutely be back!…read more My husband ordered the 20-piece wings and got four different flavors--mango habanero, dirty jerk, dry rub, Bruce Lee, Wang, and Dr Pepper BBQ (we had to try as many as possible ). Every single one was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had the chicken sandwich with mango habanero, pickles, and coleslaw (can't remember the name, but WOW--it was incredible). The balance of sweet, heat, and crunch was perfect. I ordered the mango habanero mixed sauces in the side and used them as a dipper just to control the heat just in case since it was my first time trying it. For drinks, I had the Crackberry cider and my husband had the Mango Cart--both were great choices. Our waitress, Aureli, was so sweet and attentive. And when her shift ended, Oryn (the bartender) took over seamlessly and made sure we were still taken care of--top-tier service all around. Oryn was the highlight of our visit. Just a solid, friendly and respectful dude with a great personality. The vibe is everything--90s R&B, chill atmosphere, sports on all the TVs. It's the perfect mix of sports bar energy with a laid-back, welcoming feel. We even met the owner, Chris, which made the experience feel even more personal. We also found out they do music bingo on Tuesdays from 7-9 PM, which we're definitely coming back for. Great food, great drinks, amazing service, and an all-around awesome vibe. 5 stars all the way!

We decided on a high-top towards the end of the bar since the Colts were being shown there. As for the interior, it's a typical sports bar setting with copious amounts of seating and tvs with your standard bar foods menu and plenty of beers and branded spirits available for order. We stuck with the miller lite which was pretty cheap and they always made sure it was full when we finished the previous one. As for food, I decided on wings with a jalapeno peach and the dirty jerk dry flavors. No issues with taste; the jalapeno peach is a solid one with a good blend of spice and sweetness. I'm a bit disappointed that for 10 wings, only 9 came with my order and when I mentioned it to our server/bartender, it went ignored. He probably didn't hear me bring it up since more people started coming in and the place was getting full. I should've brought it up again but likely got distracted by my team's lousy performance. I'm open to coming back here again. While this place is like any other sports bar, the affordable beers and that jalapeno peach flavors shouldn't be ignored.
