This place hasn't changed in more than 20 years. I like the decor and the little booths around the atrium in the center. Visited for an early dinner and got combo meals. Good selection of traditional favorites and the food came out fast. We really like the cheese enchiladas that have a lot of onions. My mom liked her Chile relleno too. My shredded beef taco was not as good, kind of bland but I kicked it up with some salsa and guacamole. Service was a little gruff at first but he warned up by the end.

Albondigas! I just love this spicy broth, veggies, and meatballs.

Albondigas with so many of the most yummy meatballs, Al dente veggies, and flavorful broth.

This is a hidden gem. In the 10 years I have lived in Reno I have not tried Mi Casa Too and I should have. Priced fair, great quality of food and very engaged service. Order the Carne Asada Taco, came with rice and beans. Friend ordered enchiladas. Food came out smokin hot, you could tell that they know what they are doing. Plenty of seating and can accommodate groups. Motifs are very authentic. They had a pico that came with the carne asada that was so good, spicy, roasted chili's! One of the best I have had.

Very very good food. And drinks. Juan was a great server and the bus boy was great too. Sorry I forget his name. Mi casa is our favorite place.

Their salsa was outstanding, we actually bought a pint of it. We ordered their Menudo and wow, the flavors were excellent and they service it with lime wedges, white onions and cilantro on the side and homemade tortillas. We also ordered the chili rellano plate which was huge and delicious. This Mexican restaurant deserves high accolades to the chef, owner, and servers. AND I left my cell phone on the table and got almost home and realized I didn't have it with me, I drove back even though they were closed and they greeted me at the door with a smile and my phone. Thank you for being honest. Will highly recommend this gem.

Quality/Quantity - Complimentary Chips and Salsa - Love hearty chips, and my wife thought they were home made...? I think it was store bought... Quesabirria Tacos - 4 (small) tacos, a cup of sauce and a side of condiments, toppings. See pictures. If you have been following, I have been on a Birria Taco quest, trying this type of tacos every change I get. These were just okay. The sauce was good and it had generous meat/beef. But it lacked cheese?!?! See my last Birria Taco review at Mama Papa. Chimichanga - My wife really enjoyed this. She did not believe me when I told her that this was a deep fried burrito, lol. Generous portions, and she was only able to eat half. Guess we have dinner tonight. My wife and I felt the food was fairly authentic. BTW - EVERYONE ordered soup!! Menudo, Pozole, 7 Mares or Caldo de Res, etc! My wife really wanted to order this to try, but it was 70 degrees outside. Just means we have to come back. :) Kids menu also available. Atmosphere - Small location, the indoor and outdoor space was about the same size. Full of locals, everyone sort of knew each other which was cool. Semi open kitchen. One unisex restroom, I did not bother to check it out. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm as per Yelp. Plenty of parking Service - Overall good, welcoming. Counter or table service. We kind of stood out, and not in a negative way. The owner/cashier wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The waiter was a hard worker, cleaning our table, and bringing out chips and salsa to us. Then we went to the counter to order. Price - No prices on the menus?!?! $30 + generous tip. Reasonably priced, but for a "hole in the wall"?!?! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

Ambiance: Relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with Mexican-inspired décor and cultural touches throughout the restaurant. There was a steady flow of guests, giving the place a lively but comfortable feel. Restrooms: Clean and decent, although a bit outdated. Service: Friendly but somewhat disorganized, possibly because we had a large group. The waitress initially told me the bartender was busy, but later realized she had never entered my drink order. She apologized and removed it from the bill. She also brought the wrong entrée for one of my friends but corrected it promptly. On a positive note, she graciously accommodated another friend's custom drink request even though it wasn't on the menu. Chips & Salsa: The first basket is complimentary. We were told additional baskets normally have a charge, but during our visit we were offered unlimited refills. Food: Fresh, authentic, and generously portioned. Recommended dishes: Salmon Atlántico, Fish Tacos, Artichoke Dip, Enchiladas, and Bistec.

It can be overwhelming if it's your first time. But, if you know what you're craving, the decision might be easier. I could not make up my mind to just get 1 item. I originally came for ice cream and/or a sweet treat. I ended up getting 3 things. - Strawberries & Cheesecake ice cream. Not really worth it. The ice cream was vanilla with strawberry puree mixed in, so the texture was icy. And it had bits of cheesecake bites in it. It was underwhelming for me. - Esquites . I love elote and esquites. The esquites was pretty decent. Served warm with mayo and topped with cotija and tajin. Easy to eay and their small size is a good portion. I couldn't finish it. - Fresas con crema. Something so simple tastes so good. This was my fave and worth coming back for. It's a large cup of sliced strawberries swimming in a sweet cream mixture of Mexican crema, condensed milk, and evaporated milk, topped with whipped cream. It was so delicious. The portion is plenty for 1 person. I'm glad I have leftovers because I definitely would have craved it again. There are so many things to try that I definitely will be back to try their savory items. The woman who served us was extremely polite and helpful. We enjoyed our time there.

Not too sweet and perfectly balanced with just enough cinnamon. The best item I had there. The 2 items not worth getting is the shrimp tostada. Literally a boring ice berg lettuce salad with cold shrimp filled in a tortilla bowl. And their choco-flan. The cake part was dry and hardly tasted chocolate. However, the flan layer was pretty good. Maybe just order the flan. This is an old place that could definitely use a renovation. The place over all is just dirty. Everything needs an upgrade.

The tortilla chips were pretty lackluster as well as the salsa. They didn't give very many chips and if you ask for a refill, it was an extra $2.99. By the way, the only prices on the menu was for the chips. When we asked why there were no prices on the menu the server was very clear in blaming the "Trump" economy. He blamed his prices on Trumps tariffs. With that said, I didn't understand why he couldn't put them on the menu, but that is what it was. Do not order the water as it tastes rancid. I'm not sure how that was possible, but it happened. Service:: The service wasn't the best, but it also wasn't the worse. Just don't expect much and you'll be fine. Ambiance: The ambience was that of a typical Mexican restaurant with a focus on muerte (death). The artwork comprised nicely dressed skeletons. Although I have no affiliation, I would recommend "El Charro" in Carson City as an alternative. The food is more flavorful, larger portions, free chips, better margaritas and staff is very nice. They also have a deal if you buy $100 gift card they will give you an extra $20 on the card.
