We came in July 4th to get repair said probably 2 hours, later that evening determined need to order 2 parts would be here Monday. Monday had not even ordered parts understood holiday weekend. Tues called at 9 am said parts would be in 930- 10. Arrived at dealership no parts did not arrive till 1 pm. Said would be 2 hours. Went to check in progress and they haven't even started yet. Everyone stands around talking on phones not working on vehicles. They tell you something different every time you ask. No tv, no internet. This is a good shop. They're busy like all the shops, but they got me checked in fast and brought the truck in when they said they would. They got a quick diagnosis and ordered the part. Wonderful service, and very friendly technicians. We Stopped in last night around 8:30 pm to have a few adjustments/repairs made to truck. Can't say enough about the night shift guys here. Knowledgeable, and curious to us. Nice lounge to sit and watch television while they worked on the truck. Bathroom, and vending machines available too. They got us up and back on the road quickly. We came in on a Sunday and the women of MHC was amazing and helpful, and made sure we had a space for our trailer and a place to stay while getting our truck worked on. After a month of telling our company that there was something wrong with the charging on our truck and the transmission, we finaly got the dreaded warning light. "transmission error service immediately" made appropriate macs and phone calls, they sent us to kw shop. They listened to what we had to say about how our truck was acting what is was and was not doing. 24 hour wait however they work till 2400. Gave us advice on where we could stay. Let us get our night bags... Called us the next day before we had to check out let us know it would be another day a part needed ordering. They kept us informed at all times. This place is horrible! I called them ahead of time and asked if they could fix the lights on my truck not working. They said - yes. When I showed up they said they said - no!? I was pulling out of their yard when a thick smoke started coming from the dash. I asked if they could fix that. They told me to call a tow truck to put my truck in the bay. Rick Grommon - the shop manager, told me the mechanics did work outside sometimes!? Tow truck charged $250.00 I got to KW around 10 am. They started on my truck at 11:30 pm. There were some trucks coming after me getting fixed and leaving. I guess KW knew I was not going anywhere. The night shift mechanic found some corrosion on the battery terminals and one bad battery. He said that was the problem. It took him about 20 min. Next morning the the day shift mechanic told me the same thing. He also pointed out a small fuse box next to the batteries that had corrosion on it too. He said: "We replace that, the batteries, clean the corrosion and it should be ok". Just think - once you turn the key, headlights come on and stay on at all times, you can not turn them off, none of the light switches work, turn signals do not work, 4-way flashers do not work, tail lights do not work, trailer lights do not work, amber lights above the windshield blink as 4-way flashers at all times, you can not turn them off and there's smoke coming from the dash, something is burning, and the reason for all that - corrosion on the battery terminals. How incompetent and not bright do you have to be to really think that?! He said he could not find any melting wires so it had to be the corrosion. I asked him to pull a dash panel off to look at the wires behind it. He did to prove his point. The wires were good there so I asked to pull an other panel off. He was getting irritated with all that but did take it off. The wires were good there too. He said: " You see - all good". I asked him to pull a fuse box in the engine compartment off to see the wires behind it. The smell of melted plastic was very strong there. He said he would have to unhook a lot of things there and there's really no need, it's the corrosion we needed to deal with. I insisted. It took him 10-15 min. He pulled it off and then literally threw it towards me to show how upsetting all that was for him. It looked good but at the back wall of it the plastic was melted and the electrical terminal plugged into it was all melted on the inside. Is it really supposed to be that way that you have to push the mechanic to look for a problem with your vehicle or else he will not? The parts guy Shawn said he would find out how much the parts would be and let me know. That was my 2nd day there. On the 3rd day in the morning I asked him again. He said the fuse box in the engine compartment was $1800.00 but the chassis harness the terminal of which burned he could not locate. Freightliner of Cheyenne could not help. Having read their reviews I was not surprised. I asked Shawn to call Freightliner of Denver or Salt Lake City and ask them. He said he would. In the evening, at the end of day 3 I asked if they finally figured it out. Rick Grommon himself told me that he did not want to call Denver or SLC because he was afraid they would ask for more money. Really?! At that point he had been waiting for 2 full days already. I called Denver myself and 2 min. later they gave me the price for the fuse box of $600.00 instead of $1800.00 (what an up charge!!!) and the part number for the harness. The parts were ordered for the next morning. On the 4th day they finally put the truck back together. The only problem there was when they tried to lift the drive axels off the ground with a forklift to move the truck they did not chain the axels to the frame. The frame went up but the axels stayed on the ground and one of the air bags popped and was dislocated. That airbag leaks air now. A new air bag costs around $200.00 without the labor to put it on. Rick Grommon refused to do anything about that. When I got my bill the lady at the counter told me they were charging me for 7.5 hours of labor at $170.00 per hour It took 3 hours to put the truck back together on the 4th day. They agreed with it - 3 hours on day 4. That puts about 4.5 hours on the guy that looked for melted wires for about 30 min. with me pushing him. When I asked Rick Grommon what was that mechanic doing during all that time Rick said he was researching stuff on the Internet. When I came that day everytning was exactly the same way as the night before. I saw him chitchatting with other mechanics and doing nothing at all for a long while there. It my opinion it is an outright fraud! I think he was clocked in to work on my truck but really did nothing at all. Rick said he was going to look for a wiring problem after dealing with corrosion.
