I recently had an MRI at MH Imaging at 2500 W. Layton St. and give the company owners and staff there high marks. The layout of the imaging suite I had was well designed and bathed with warm accent lighting. MRI machines are loud, so the technician offered ear plugs, head phones (with my choice of music) or both. I chose both enjoying some great 70's Eagles tunes to pass the time while the GE 3T MRI performed its magic. There was an issue getting my Doctor's imaging order communicated to MH Imaging, but that was not MH Imaging's fault. Once I got the order corrected and resent from my physician's office, the MRI image scan process went smoothly. I want to personally thank MH Imaging for making this State of the Art MRI technology available and price competitive vs. other Milwaukee area imaging options. I visited MH Imaging for a scan and will not be returning to this location or any MH Imaging facility. I arrived about fifteen minutes late due to confusion with their multiple locations on the same street (Layton ave in Milwaukee)--there's another center just two miles away, which is an understandable mix-up. However, the receptionist showed no empathy or effort to understand the situation. When I tried to explain that I was in severe pain and needed to be scanned urgently and also drove 30 miles, she refused to listen, said 'I'm not gonna speak with you anymore' and 'I think you need to leave now.' She offered only 'I can get you in tomorrow' before turning her back on me. I'm sure I'm not the first patient to mix up the locations, especially since only the main facility shows up online. Not to mention she also condoned a hostile patients threatening behavior towards me. Their follow-up communications are also vague and don't even include appointment times. As a healthcare professional myself, I would never interact with patients this way and will not be sending my patients here. We are taught that, as healthcare professionals, patients come in to the facilities on some of the worst days of their lives and these employees showed no understanding of that. The staff could definitely benefit from training in patient interaction and professionalism. Better location clarity and proper follow-up are also needed of course. read more

MH Imaging - Ignored me as I was standing at the check in - Diagnostic Imaging Near Me - Milwaukee, Wisconsin

I tried saving $150.00 by going to a free standing clinic rather than through Ascension. First, my doctor had to fax the order (who uses a fax machine anymore?). Then after the MRI, MH Imaging said they wouldn't send the images to my doctor - they gave me a disc that I had to drive 45 minutes to give my doctor. They said they would fax (?) the report (not images) to my doctor, but after a week my doctor still hadn't received it. And my doctor sent me a note saying "of course nobody has a disc drive anymore so I need to send it to MKE imaging and they can convert the antiquated CD technology to something that I can actually see." It was my first visit at MH Imaging Racine and it was the best experience I've had in a long time. I had a lot of anxiety about this appointment but the technician, Eva made me feel very comfortable. She was very pleasant and she took her time to explain everything. I was very pleased! I'm so glad I found this place! The ladies at the front had the best customer service! So helpful and friendly. My pcp referred me for an MRI over 2 years ago but I put it off due to my severe claustrophobia. I've had 2 back surgeries, the last for disk fusion, which were successful for years but then I started having pain again. I currently have spinal stenosis, spinal arthritis, and degenerative disk disease. Now the pain is traveling into my neck and causes pretty bad headaches. Additionally, I have a torn meniscus which puts more pressure on my weak side when I compensate. I was relieved to find MH Imaging because they have an open MRI. The reception was ok and when I asked for my sleep aid with less than 30 minutes before my appointment, the receptionist said she was just getting it. The tech, Jackie, was great! She walked me through everything explaining exactly what would happen and reassured me she would check in after each scan. I chose my music and she adjusted it to my liking, gave me a "panic" button, and put warm sheets on me. Knowing this may still be stressful she emphasized the openings so I could see I wasn't "entombed." At the beginning of each scan she told me how long it would take and made sure I was doing ok. I only had a few fleeting feelings of panic and at the end of the lumbar scans I told her how much better it was than others I'd had--much quieter, peaceful lighting, and the openings made all the difference. I took a break and then went back for my cervical scans. I became anxious when I realized my head was going in first this time and now had to wear a piece over my face to stabilize my neck so it couldn't easily move. As I moved into the tunnel, it went beyond the "open" part of the machine and I could no longer see out the sides. The tech was still very reassuring but it no longer mattered as I was in the place I'd avoided up until now, with no advanced warning, and started to panic. The sound was greatly amplified and it was like being at a construction site where the randomness of noise is startling. I'm sure this sounds extreme for people who aren't claustrophobic but it was like a 20 minute panic attack for me. I felt nauseous so tried deep breathing and imagining being on a beach but all I saw was the inside of a coffin. When it was over, the tech was still very caring but I just wanted out. Before I left, I was pleasantly surprised when I was given copies of the scans. I'm sure they will be very beneficial but wish I'd known half of my "open" MRI was not going to be "open." Miscommunication? Maybe, but it left me feeling foolish and deceived, especially when the clinic was well aware of my concerns. Given this information ahead of time, I would have chosen full sedation. Overall, the open MRI was very beneficial to me and alleviated my fears during the lumbar procedure, only. I was very impressed with the quality of staff and service at MH Imaging. I was there for an ultrasound which they were able to offer 3 weeks before the hospital system could schedule. The staff were very thorough, and had great communication with my doctor and with me. My doctor reported that the ultrasound images were very clear and thorough. read more

These people are great. I had a potentially scary doctor visit and needed an MRI. My doctor suggested MH because they get people in much quicker than anyone else. I had an appointment scheduled the next day, so he was right about that. When I arrived I was taken to the back on time.... Which I couldn't believe.... And walked thru what was going to happen. They literally told me about all the noises and how long it would take and what I would feel. They also offered me headphones to help me relax, which I really appreciated. It was loud in there! Every now and then she would pipe in thru the headphones to tell me I was doing great and how much time was left. They must have read the results fairly quickly because I got a call from my doctor within the week. When you're facing scary stuff, that means everything! Would deff recommend them. read more

Easy to schedule and pleasant staff. They had signs up encouraging people to mask, but I didn't see any staff wearing a mask. Seemed inconsistent with messaging & inconsiderate for a place where clients might have to remove their masks. read more

My doctor sent me here for a CT scan. It was cheaper to pay out-of-pocket then run it through my insurance. The staff members were friendly and knowledgeable. They were horrible. The website and their door say hours are 7am to 7pm. The appointment is for 7:45. We got there at 7am and the lady did not open the doors until 7:40am! I asked her why they did not open at 7am like is advertises everywhere and her response was "What are you talking about, we do not open until 8am." Then why would you schedule an appointment for 7:45 and open 5 minutes before the appointment! She was rude, horrible customer service. read more
