I dreaded getting a vehicle inspection, since last year I had the same check engine light on and was told to replace many parts for $$$$$$. It was depressing, since I had to take my car out for drives to make sure the check engine light stayed off. I took it to 2 different places, took them awhile to figure out the issue. So I am impressed with Key, he replaced the right part to resolve the issue quickly. And I didn't have to pay that much this year for my inspection and repair =P. Walked away a very very happy customer. Visit them, they are great!

Within a couple of minutes, the horn was working, but they explained to me that a new one was still needed as there was an internal problem with the component and so, although it was currently working, it would most likely stop working again soon. They made some phone calls to see if they could get the part, but they couldn't. They advised me to get the part from Ford and bring it to them so they could instal it. Best of all, they didn't charge me anything for getting it to work. I know that's a small thing because, realistically, they really didn't do much, but it's that kind of honesty and integrity that I appreciate. For that reason I'll definitely be coming back in the future.

The main reason they earned their 5 star review? They turn down work. Other places could easily lie…read moreand find work that needs to be done. Ex: Go in for an oil change and you'll need a new timing belt or a different fluid change. Here, they only do what you ask for. They will turn down work if they don't think it's necessary. I went in for an oil change and my dealer told me that my brakes are due for a change. Went to Nick's and asked for the oil change and new brakes. The mechanic (I believe it's Ming) told me that they still had another half year to a year left on them considering that this is my daily driver. He told me just check it again next time I'm in for an oil change. Most recently, I went in for an oil change and had him check my brake fluid because it was within the timeframe of replacement. Ming turned down the work again because the brake fluid was still clean. If you know what you need, this is exactly the place to go for honest work.

I called to ask if they had a tire in stock that needed replacing. It's not easy to get as it's a Pirelli Scorpion 275/40 R22 and they were on a National back order. I spoke with John several times and he was able to locate one in Connecticut and had it shipped to him for the next day. I called to confirm it was received and I drove right over. The whole process took about 90 minutes. John was on point and kept me informed throughout the process. They were fairly busy, had return customers mixed with new, and people I know that live in the area said they have a good reputation. This did not cost me anything although their posted prices for inspection, estimates, tire rotation, a/c service all seemed fair. They appear to have a good selection of tires and informed and showed everyone what was needed if a repair or replacement was required. I would recommend them based on my experience. Not sure why their rating is low on Yelp.

They were miracle workers with my 1991 Toyota Camry and they never made me feel lame for wanting to keep it running. And i was always pleasantly surprised by their reasonable rates. As a woman in NYC for the last 20 years, i have been taken advantage of by some shady mechanics. That's why I'm sooooo grateful to have found Grease!!! They're speedy, knowledgeable, and fair. They even helped me find my newer car - a 2008 Subaru Forester, which I love!! (It belonged to another customer that upgraded, so they were very familiar with the car and recommended it to me.) I trust them so much I even paid to have my car towed all the way from NJ rather than risk dealing with someone I don't trust or who may not be as skilled as the team at Grease. I could go on and on, but trust me, the extra effort or expense to tow or drive or whatever to get your car to Grease will save you money and a headache in the end!!
