Not happy with my experience here at all…read more I purchased a Groupon just 2 days ago because times are tough, and I booked an appointment online for today. When I arrived, the place was extremely busy and looked completely booked. I went inside to check in for my appointment, only to be not be told but to see an email, posted on the plexiglass, from management stating that all Groupons had been terminated and would no longer be accepted. The frustrating part is that the Groupon was still active, still available for purchase. If the business is no longer honoring Groupons. I live in Berkeley, so I completely wasted my time, gas, and energy driving out there only to find this out after I arrived. With gas prices being what they are, that is incredibly frustrating. At the very least, someone should be contacting customers who book oil changes to confirm whether they are paying for the service directly or attempting to redeem a Groupon. That simple step could prevent customers from making unnecessary trips and wasting money. I understand businesses can change their policies, but customers should be given clear notice before they make the trip, especially when the Groupon is still being actively sold. Very disappointing experience.

I've been taking my car to A&S Auto Body Shop for repairs over the past few years, and their service has always been outstanding. After having terrible repair experiences elsewhere, I truly appreciate the honesty and reliability of this shop. Before finding this place, I had visited a well known European Autotech and Big O. Not only did they overcharge, but they also pulled some shady tricks,i had two tires that were practically new, yet they insisted all four needed replacing and didn't even return the two good ones to me. Sure enough, less than seven months later, I had a blowout on my way to Berkeley. When I went back to European Autotech at San Ramon, they claimed there was absolutely no warranty coverage. It was outrageous,I will never go back to that shop again. A and S Body Shop is a completely different story. Their pricing is always fair and transparent,in fact, I usually shop around and get quotes from a few places, and A& S consistently offers the best rates. Even better, the quality of their work is superb. No upselling, no nonsense, just solid, trustworthy, professional service. If you're looking for a shop that won't rip you off and truly stands behind the quality of its work, this is the place to go. Without a doubt, they deserve a five star rating.

I hate trying to find honest car spots for my car needs. I came all the way from Livermore because he said this place was worth it. Well, he was not wrong! It only took a little less than 2hrs for me to get a set of new tires and an alignment. The environment is comfortable and all of the staff I interacted with is so kind! They didn't mind that I set up my "office" in their waiting room so I can work while they did the job. There were some senior citizens waiting and the staff showed them so much respect and kneeled down to speak with them to show they were not just "customers" but, they are there to take care of them. That touched my heart. After my car was done, I was told that I get free tore rotations and that they can also do an oil change at the same time as it is recommended to do both at once to keep everything top notch. I will FOR SURE make the drive to Hayward to do that every 3,000 miles! If you need a reliable, honest, & quick place for your tire/car needs, this is the place!

My serpentine belt had ripped and I took it in to see if I could get it replaced. As soon as I pulled up I was approached by a mechanic and I showed him what had happened. He asked me to turn on my car and we both noticed the pulley on the power steering pump was not turning straight and was wobbling. He turned off the car and said that that entire part needed to be replaced, which I agreed with. I asked him how much and he went to get another guy to take a look at it. When he came over he glanced at us and then at the car and said it would cost us $400 total for both the part and labor. In desperation and in need for my car, I agreed and asked him how long it would take. He said 2 to 3 hours, so we gave him the key and left. An hour or so later he calls me and starts off by saying "Oh, you're going to need more work done! The AC compressor is no good! It's not turning, you're going to need to replace it!" Confused and even more stressed out, I asked him how much that would cost. He said it would be $1,000 all together. I started to feel suspicious of it because when I handed the car over, I had no issues with my AC at all. I asked him if the car would still be drivable if I didn't replace it. He made it seem like it would be a very bad issue if I didn't replace it, but I could "temporarily" drive it for emergencies. I told him to not do anything extra but to replace the Power Steering pump like we had agreed. An hour later I went to the shop to wait. No one came to ask me why I was there or asked if I needed help. I had to wait until the mechanic working on my car came in and noticed I was in there. He starts off saying that my car now has a funny noise and that it was coming from my compressor. I felt so upset because my car wasn't making that noise at all when I left it. He told me that he couldn't guarantee that the work he did would be okay if something else happened to it. He tried to show me the price of the AC compressor on his computer to explain why he wanted to charge me $1000. The whole situation seemed very off and I just wanted to pay and leave. I checked my AC and it was working fine and it was blowing out cold air. My gut was telling me that he was being dishonest/suspicious. About three weeks later, the same pulley is now having issues. It is not spinning straight and I'll now have to get that part replaced again. If that part is brand new, why am I having the same issues? I have pictures to show the damage on the pulley on this "brand new" part. We had called them to explain what happened and they told us to bring it back but honestly I don't want anything to do with them and I hope others are cautious if they give them business.
