3.5 stars. I came here on a Sunday around 6pm for a 25+ mixer hosted by PVDVIP and oneTribe. DJ Lefty did a great job as usual. This was their first Sunday event so it wasn't a huge turnout, but I believe it was a good start. On to my actual review on Mezzo itself. It's actually a very pretty venu and everyone from the greeter to the bartender were very friendly. There is plenty of parking and it's in a decent location. They had $5 drink and appetizer special. For the drinks, it was just house vodka mixed with one other beverage. I think it could have been a little more diverse and offered different cocktails. I just ordered vodka and pineapple. There wasn't much vodka in them, but a whole bunch of ice and served in small plastic cups. As for my appetizer, I ordered the fried sweet Asian chili cauliflower which was actually amazing and for only $5 which was a steal. read more

Honestly mezzo is a fantastic venue. First and foremost, its nice to see an experience in the area the looks and feels like Collins ave in Miami. What a sexy place! Was clearly designed by creative minds that inspire the entertainment scene. Drinks are always great and bar staff quick and friendly. There's usually a line out the door, so glad I got in early because the place was hopping all night. No complaints, would definitely come back. I came Wednesday night for a Halloween party. The ad online said the cover was $10 but it was actually $15. That's not a problem though. The place started off kind of empty (at 11pm) but eventually there was a decent size crowd. The decoration at this place is cool & there's lots of places to sit. I love their patio. It's beautiful with a warm fireplace. I want to come back on Saturday. I think Saturday would be even better since usually no one parties Wednesday night The music is good but the DJ played some songs twice, probably cuz they got the crowd excited. But we were only there for like 2 hrs, don't repeat the songs like we won't notice lol Also, drinks are expensive but they had a Halloween special for $5 any vodka drink. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I went to Mezzo for the lil Kim concert and dinner and I ended up with food poisoning. We all thought the sea food smelled and tasted a little funny, but I had the salmon as my entree so I ended getting sick. The staff was horrible and had no organization whatsoever. I could not even enjoy the concert that I flew all the way from Virginia to see. Getting food poisoning from this place ruined my entire trip to Rhode Island for the weekend. This place seems like a dive trying to be a luxury lounge/restaurant. They should just close their doors down and call it a day because this place will not last much longer. read more

The bouncer abuses his power every single time we come. He goes out of his way to verbally harass people just trying to get in. Making up stupid rules on the spot just so everyone KNOWS he holds so little power over their heads. Everyone complains about him and his horrible attitude. I would strongly recommend you find someone a little more professional or someone who just isn't a jackass. I've seen people with fakes get in but not people who "didn't back up in enough time" meaning the 3 seconds he gave for over a hundred people to back up 20ft. My husband and I gave Prime Cut Modern SteakHouse a try on our visit to Rhode Island and we have one word for it AMAZING !! From the service to the food everything was excellent ! You can tell they take pride in what they do and we were more than happy to experience such a great restaurant/lounge. You have to try their 7 layers cake... its so good !!!! Forget about the diet :) The restaurant and the lounge are very modern, and the ambiance complimented the beautiful dinner my husband and I had. We will go back to Mezzo nest time we are in RI, and I highly recommend the place. read more

Went to the Mezzo Lounge to see Damien Escobar. This was our first time there and perhaps our last time. They're add said he would be on early like 8:00 and didn't start till 10:45? A little disappointed to say the least. Damien put on a good show even though he had equipment failures which I think was the lounge. Also my wife and I both bought a Capt Morgans and coke and we were over charged and I brought this situation up with the manager who gracefully gave us a refund. For that I am grateful! read more

This establishment does not deserve any stars. In fact, if there was a option to select negative stars that would be too nice. This place is horrible and that is being kind. First, we waited more that 1 hour to be served. Not one person in management felt the need to come and tell us there was a back up in the kitchen. Once we did receive our food, it was horrible. The food was cold, the steaks poorly cooked and the seafood was questionable as to freshness. It was an all around bad experience. On top of that the management handled the matter in a manner that left us with more that a bad taste in our mouths. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!! My first time coming for dinner here. My cousin made reservations for 8:30. Two couples we're seated before us and we finally get seated at 9. Our waiter comes to greet us. Then he comes back to take our orders. While we're sitting there, I'm noticing that the other tables aren't even eating. There were 8 tables. The big table in front of us leaves, not sure if they ate. Then around 9:30, the couple who was brought in before us leaves. I could hear them saying that it was taking too long so they left. Our waiter comes back and states that our order should be coming out shortly. So now it's 9:45, we still haven't gotten our apps yet not even the salad came out. 10 o'clock comes around, still nothing. The couple next to us gets their order and within 10 mins they complain about the service and the food. Now it's 10:15. I ask the couple how long they waited before getting their dinner and they tell us that they had been there since 8 and the food wasn't even worth it. So I made the choice to leave. As we were walking out, the table of 6 in front stated that they had been there since 8 also and hadn't gotten their food yet. If the manager is the older woman then she did not do her job. She never once came by to check on us or apologize for their lack of service. I can't blame the waiter though because the cooks couldn't keep up with the small amount of dinners there were. I never thought about going here and now I will definitely never go here. On a side note, they stated they were an Italian restaurant BUT the wine selection wasn't that great. Mezzo does not even deserve 1 star. I will never dine here again nor will I enter their lounge for entertainment. The service was slow, food was disgusting and waitresses were rude. I went there with a group friends to celebrate my sisters birthday and it was the most embarrassing time for me & the guests I invited. For starters, I made a reservation for 10 people 2 weeks prior to the celebration date and when I called 30 minutes before my reservation to let them know we are running late, I was told my reservation was non-existent by a waitress. Mind you, this is after calling several times prior to confirm my reservation after being told by many different staff that I was all set. Even an hour prior to my reservation I was told I was all set by a gentleman from the lounge. When the waitress said that to me over the phone whilst I was driving to Providence I was extremely upset. She gave me the general "sorry for the inconvenience" apology but could not answer my question as to how this came to be when I was told I was all set. After being frustrated for 15 minutes I called back and spoke a manager, Lindsay, who apologized and told me to still head over to the restaurant and she would do the best she could to accommodate my party. At the door I was rudely approached by the waitress I spoke to on the phone and she said to me "I thought I told you over the phone I wasn't serving your party tonight." I immediately re-directed her to HER manager because I was not going to engage in a back & forth with her. Lindsay came out and sat us down and apologized again. Unfortunately, after this the night got WORSE. The waitress (who I am purposely keeping her name private) made sure we were NOT a priority. Service was slow, she was unfriendly and did not give us our food until 1.5 hours later. Below, I am leaving an image of the 'meal' I was served by the waitress which was cold, smelly and not edible. It took them 1.5 hours to serve me trash on a plate. I ordered the, 'Flat Iron Steak(oyster cut)' which consists of: 6oz. premium beef, plantains, spicy beans, chimichurri, crema and lime wedge, and I was served a piece of steak with black Goya beans. It looked so bad I did not even take a bite! I asked for my cake (that I had them put in the back for me) back which took them over 30 minutes to give back with NO apology. I paid for a VIP section at their lounge as well and since it was non-refundable I decided to continue to stay the night there and try to make the best of it. The service there was just as slow and it took a while before I could even order a drink for my table. Overall, I will never dine or lounge here again. While the decor and staff were very pleasant and upscale. The music and other patrons would be better suited to a tacky strip club. The dj just played top 40 with no mixing whatsoever. Numerous drunk girls wearing strip club attire were bumping into and spilling stuff all night. I honestly had no idea what was going on. I was given my drink in a cheap plastic cup. The prices are very Cheap though. A bottle was under 200. I won't go here again. I was told it was an upscale club. It was a shitshow. I was not carded, nor was my purse searched on the way in. Also, to their defense. All the people complaining about the club being where it is... that's generally the idea. You don't put loud nightclubs in residential areas. read more

My friends and I came here on a stormy Saturday night in August. It was one of those summer storms with torrential rain and constant thunderstorms. But what a night it was. We had nips in our purses, but the bouncer was nice enough to hold onto them for us. He was super polite and not rude at all. Already a plus. My jaws dropped to the floor when we walked in. This establishment is beautiful and super modern. There's a PrimeCut background to take a pictures in front of, since the dark lighting and strobe lights make it difficult for a decent picture. Even the bathroom is clean and totally presentable for photos with friends. There's an eclectic mix of places to be inside Mezzo. A relatively large dance floor, a lounging area, two bars, and a huge patio outside. The patio features another bar with two large TVs, all under a white tent. We were disappointed with the tequila shots, however. The bartender must of mixed them with lime juice, as we could tell just by the color something was off. And it didn't taste like tequila either. We made sure he heard exactly what we wanted, too. $10 for juice. There was a cover as well. Guys paid $10 after 10 PM, but ladies were free before 11 PM. Considering the inclement weather, there was a surprising amount of people that night. Maybe a dozen more showed up by midnight, but despite the weak turnout, the DJ did not compromise. He was fantastic. The music was simply awesome. I was thoroughly impressed. But here is really what I will always remember about our visit to Mezzo. After the lights went out after midnight due to the thunderstorms, a good amount of people started to leave. The owner was standing by the door and gently persuading us to stay. Mind you, it was POURING buckets outside. We really needed to leave and head home. But we had no umbrellas during this tempest. So the owner grabbed two umbrellas and escorted us to our cars. How sweet was that?! You can bet we will be back here! That simple gesture was so thoughtful and definitely worthy of more than just a five-star rating. read more

Me and my friends went to mezzo on thursday night as it was the only club in our area that did 18+ I am 21 but nit all my friends are.bWe got in line in the back entrance and waited 45 min in the rain for them to even start letting us in. Not to mention the incredibly rude security detail who tried to push all of us back causing a bunch of people to get crushed and stepped on and they didnt care. When it was my turn to get checked in not only did they NOT check my id and give me a band so i can go to the bar but the female security guard was beyond disrespectful she was taking my pepper spray off my keys and as it was my first time at a club i politely said "i didnt know that you guys would have to take that away im sorry" She then started to scream at me call me a dumb blonde (i am indian) and then continued to say rude things about me to the people behind me. I also lost my phone there as well as some other items. The bar tenders were slow and the customer service was all in all horrific. I am glad I am no longer underage and can go to much better clubs with a nicer staff. read more

in Italian, mezzo means "half", which is exactly what you should expect if you come here. Take your expectations, then cut them in half. When you walk in you'll think "at least they tried". My friends and I came here for a birthday and got table service. In total it was $500, which is worth it if the club actually knows what they're doing. We were promised four bottles of premium alcohol. Plot twist, you will NEVER see the original bottle your liquor comes in. We got two pitchers of mystery vodka. And after these were delivered, the staff disappeared. Later on in the night, so did my sisters cell phone. There is absolute zero security for VIP. Three unknown people were seen in our section, when confronted they claimed they were just talking to the DJ. At this time my sisters cell phone disappeared from our section. We confronted the people again who immediately got defensive, security refused to pat them down. Then the person who stole the phone pocket dialed my sisters boyfriend. We could hear ourselves talking which further proved our point. Security, given this proof, continued to insist that we just leave. There was no manager present to speak with us and they refused to call one. So if you're looking for terrible service, mystery alcohol, and shady management, mezzo is more than you could imagine. I got invited to the soft opening off this amazing place on Wednesday the 23 of September 2015. It is an amazing experience from the minute you pull up to the front of this modern establishment!! First I was greeted by some very nice valet gentlemen and doormen. The place is the most modern Lounge and Restaurant I have seen! It is well lit and beautiful to witness as soon as you enter! There are awesome backgrounds to take pictures in front of to capture your memorable experience and friendly staff members guiding you to all that Mezzo has to offer! There is seating everywhere very alert staff for all your needs if you stay in the Lounge for some drinks and dancing on their year 3000 dance floors and amazing video screens running clean as 4K video! If you just want to have a great meal head over to Prime Cuts Modern Steakhouse to the right of the entrance! You will encounter sliding glass doors to see an amazing futuristic Restaurant with Pictures by local artists that capture Providence at its best!! There are several Dj booths that play awesome music plus several locations of drinking stations to grab a drink and head 2 different rooms to enjoy great music and light shows never seen before!! If you want to get some fresh air head outside to the Patio and enjoy some fresh and and more great music and have yourself a great time with a great environment with good energy!! read more

You know it is bad when you start wishing you had stopped at the Wendy's across from the resturant where you sitting.... It matters not the decor is gives an upscale feel for a RI spot. The service was s l o w. We ordered an ap that took 40 minutes. I try to stay away from rolls but they kept me from chewing off my own arm. We chose this place because we are seeing a show next door, but by looks of things we are going to scarf down our meals. We've sat here for an hour and half and still don't have our salads. Hey, but the rolls were good! Update: Our lobster spaghetti and short ribs were good and that is what you want in a resturant, but it should also come with a side of service. While the business has been open for less than a year there has been enough times to work out the kinks. If they want to stay in business they should do better. First off-------I bought TICKETS to Damien Escobar show and didn't even have a seat I spent over $250 and had to eat standing up and the people who bought a $50 ticket no food and sipped on the same drink all night had a seat.....and if you where lucky enough to get a seat at the bar you had to buy 2 drinks and a entree just to seat at the bar on a bar stool .. I took my mom she has a cane over 70 yrs old (dont tell her I said that) and had to seat on a bar stool all night mind you I always would come here when it was the Pearl to support events with at least 5 people and always having seating issues until I finally stopped going. While visiting Providence from Boston for a night out of dancing a good drinks a friend recommended Mezzo. The music was great and the establishment itself is beautiful! It was a bit empty though on a Saturday night which is sad because it's such an awesome place. The nightlife people of Providence should take advantage of this gem. We met the head of security that night and he showed us around the venu which has many rooms, a dinning room, and a marvelous outside area. We would definitely come back. read more

This was one of my worst experiment. My friends and I had our birthday party there VIP. We were told they was going to do all of these things for us and I saw none of it. The place was dead on a Saturday night. We spend over $800 on two bottles and was treated badly. We were told we can hang out after the place closed. That was a lied as soon as we paided they kicked us out. And the bartender say Fuck us for no reason ,to a bunch of females. Absolutely positively the worst restaurant in providence. I rather went to the fantasy buffet. We were given a $200 gift card a year back and figured we would take are friends out for dinner. First off we arrive at 8:30 6/6/17. The place was DEAD, legit more workers than customers. So we sat in the patio where they had a band, the band wasent bad but avg at best. Probably the best part was the band lol. Anyway we are the only party outside and possibly in the whole place. We sit there like idiots for 20 mins no menus, drinks bread silverware etc. finally the hostess Ashely very nice pleasant girl but again hostess comes over and informs us the waitdress is very busy with a 9 top. We asked her to order drinks it never happens but she brings us bread still no silverwRe napkins or side plates. Or drinks. Finally we get a hold of her, she apologizes and gives us menus. Comes back and says you guys ready to order, so I say put in 4 apps. Those apps took 1 hour they came out cold and SUCKED. The salmon was legit bad, everything was cold. The meatball app was frozen and rock hard. The calamari never made it to the table. Again 10 million sorry no manager finally I said please give us the check we used the gift card it came to $85 we still have almost a 115 balance will never go again. I threw the gift card away lol. We gave Ashely $20 tip it was not her fault. People there are many great restaurants in RI skip this place. They are more worried about having cool glow in the dark menus. Very beautiful and modern inside. Dj was really good. Drinks were strong but service was slow. Someone else mentioned in another review that the server seemed to often disappear and I can totally second that. The server told us that since we were sitting at a table we would have to order our drinks though her but she would only check on us every 20-25 minutes. Most of of us eventually started getting up and going to the bar. The main reason I am giving this place four stars is because of management. The manager/owner was extremely helpful and eager to reserve tables for us. It was my best friend's birthday and he brought out the cake with candles for her. He also cleaned everything up for us and packed what was left away so we could take it home. A very pleasant surprise. My cousins had a birthday planned today at this place and the food service was just horrible how are you going to serve someone a burnt steak for $30 and not give them a new one because they tried a piece of it. It gets worse you charged us for it! My experience at Mezzo was such an unbelievable DISAPPOINTMENT that I have nothing positive to say about this restaurant and will not be recommending it to anyone I know. I had made a reservation for 8 people, and from start to finish we were unsatisfied. The staff was inattentive. 7/8 of us could not touch or finish our meals because the seafood and meats were all undercooked, and the sight and smells of the plates were horrible. Upon bringing these complaints to our waiter's attention, he said he would remove one of the plates from our tab, although most of us complained and did not bother eating the food. No other arrangements or offers were made. For one plate and four drinks my bill came to $130. Ridiculous. The best advice I can give any reader about this establishment is, don't believe the hype, save yourself from the awful service and overpriced meals. read more

I went to Mezzo a couple months after it opened. The decorations and atmosphere is beautiful but my experience was not. I went on a Saturday night and the dining room was not full. The service was extremely slow. The waiter we had took long periods of time to return to the table. I had asked for bread at the beginning (which I thought would automatically come to the table) but I did not receive it until I was almost done with my meal. At that point, I did not want it (common sense). The entree I ordered was the short ribs and they were completely cold. I wanted to tell the waiter but he was no where to be found. After my experience, I would not return to the restaurant side. For the price of the meal, I could go to another restaurant to receive better service and food. read more

There is no valet parking, as advertised, and as soon as we pulled up to the estabilished I could tell we were going to be dissapointed. From the outside the place looks like a strip club. Had we not driven 45 mins from Boston to get here we would have turned back. The restaurant was hands down my worse dining experience ever and I wouldn't go back for even a free meal. The lounge was equally dissappointing. On a Sat night this was mosty a raunchy crowd, drinks were slow and low shelf liquor being passed off for top shelf. I couldn't even drink the 1 cocktail I ordered because the alcohol was so gross. By 11:30 the womens bathroom was full of vomit and we left immediately following my trip to the bathroom. I hadnt been here since it was The Pearl.. We went there to support an awesome band, Real Deal , was the first of their Thursday night live music schedule for the summer. The establishment is beautiful..but the service is disgraceful!! So disappointing.. there were only a handful of people and we ordered three apps...waited over an hour and never received them! there s no excuse for bad service when there were only a handful of people there to serve.. Went here for New Years 2017. It is a beautiful place with two dance rooms (pop/mainstream in the main floor and hip hop in the other). Also has a beautiful&large outdoor patio where music is played. We didn't utilize it much though since it was raining.The whole place is gorgeous. There were a lot of people there for new years, not sure how full it is on a regular night. If you book or have already booked a VIP space you need to call and check to make sure they haven't double booked you (said it's happened 2 or 3 times recently)... So you really should check! I booked a VIP space (months ago!) for this coming Saturday and after calling today to check in and ask about last minute details I was informed that the space got double booked. I was never notified because they didn't take down the proper information when I made my deposit. Happy to take my money but not my phone number. 4 days prior, they only offered me space that wouldn't accommodate the group or another night. Last minute I am now stuck scrambling due to their management turn over and disorganization. Beyond frustrated and disappointed to say the least. read more
