I was really disappointed with my experience. When I got home, I realized my order was incorrect..my son ordered a chicken shawarma and I ordered a falafel sandwich, but we were both given chicken shawarmas. I didn't feel like going back, so I decided to just eat it. Unfortunately, the food itself was not good. The chicken had an odd, almost burnt flavor right away. On top of that, the pieces were unusually large and not shaved the way traditional shawarma typically is, which made the texture feel off. For $30 (two sandwiches and two "crushed lemonades"), I expected much better quality. The lemonade was especially disappointing...it was described as blended with crushed ice, but instead it was just lemonade with ice and an overwhelming amount of lemon zest, making it difficult to drink. Overall, this was not a great experience, and I wouldn't return based on this visit. read more

Visited Mezza Mediterranean for the first time on a Sunday evening at around 9 PM and had a rocky start to our dining experience. We were greeted awkwardly, weren't sure if we should sit anywhere or wait to be seated, had to return a couple of water glasses as they had some spots on them ,got served with cold pita bread and felt our ordering process was a bit rushed. We were told around ten mins later that the restaurant was supposed to be closed at 9 and that the owner was almost winding up when we walked in. I advised them to update the Sunday hours on google as it mentioned 10PM as the closing time. Anyway, thankfully, the food made up for some of the initial setback. Their garlic sauce and baba Ghanoush was awesome and had a nice kick. Chicken wings were flavorful. But the dish of the day was the Veg zesty Ghallaba which was delicious and a perfect blend of zest and hot spice. Portion size was good for two. We were also given straight out of the oven fluffy pita bread later . Mujdra wrap however was a little bland . The owner also warmed up towards the end and chatter with us for a while. Regularly overcharged- menu and charged prices are not the same, when brought up they say, oh well, higher price and justify it somehow-- awful business practice. Never know if you'll get what you ordered. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not. The lentil soup is among the worst I've ever had :/ Why do I go back?! Menu online states under sandwiches there is a sandwich etc combo for $10, tried to order that, told it's only for lunch- well update your website. Ordered an online menu item with listed price, and when picked up was told that's not the dinner price--then note that on your website!!! That's why they want you to call in your order, then they can just make up prices. After a more recent experience overcharged, again, I won't be back. I should have known better than to come here. The owner treats and talks to the women who works the register like shit. There is always a long wait for door dash orders. So I tried this place out for the 1st time. I ordered a chicken kafta wrap. They completely burnt it and the guy tried to say he wasn't burnt when it clearly was. The lady at the register had to back me up so he could make a new sandwich. They made me another one and I just could tell what I had wasn't right. I ended up going to another middle eastern restaurant to confirm what I had was not actually chicken kafta. I ended up ordering a wrap at the new restaurant. So sad! read more

Wish there was contact information anywhere to make this right but that seems impossible to track down. My son and I have been traveling since 8a. Around 330p we stopped to grab food and run to our gate as we only had 30 minutes between our connecting flights. If we had time to go back and fix it, I would have, but even this overly priced food wasn't worth missing my flight. My son was missing half his meal, my chicken was straight out the fridge cold and missing toppings, we didn't have utensils or napkins. Made "grab and go" difficult. We just discovered this cute little friendly Mediterranean Grill in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Service was wonderful and matched by the food, which was excellent. I had the Shawarma salad with chicken and my husband had the stuffed grape leaves. Both were very good as was the hummus and the garlic spread. If you haven't been here yet, you really should try it. Original destination- pita way but still not open yet so we came across the street per wife's suggestion. Food was pretty good overall. It's ' very colorful and well presented' says my wife across the table. Talked to the Lebanese owner and chef who talked about the Lebanese inspired Kibbies. A little pricey but you get big portions and inflation so can't really complain. Update - there was this small hard thing in one of the kibbies that I chewed on. Didn't think of much at the moment but now my teeth is hurting and sensitive so I gotta drop the star count. Be careful out there (no matter where you are) and don't chew too hard lol. read more

We had Mezza cater a birthday party for 22 people. They showed up 10 minutes prior to our designated time and helped set everything up. We ordered chicken and beef kabobs and requested that they remain on the stick. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had so much food we had our guests take some home with them. Mezza provided two large trays of rice, hummus, grilled veggies and bread and large containers of garlic sauce, pita chips and dressing. Sam went above and beyond and even checked in with me a few days before to double check everything. I highly recommend and will use them again. I love Mediterranean food and we ordered a quart of lentil soup and a chicken schwarma wrap to go. The soup was okay and came with pretty good pita bread. The chicken schwarma wrap was not the best. The chicken was dried out, didn't have many pickles and seemed to be hastily put together. It was Memorial Day and the owner asked how our Memorial Day was going. The owner is super rude. Honestly he made me feel like nervous to even order something from him. I will never return. I greeted him so kindly but he just wouldn't smile back. He rushed my order. And then they were fixing their computer using kitchen gloves. After that he went into the kitchen and started making a sandwich. Without changing his gloves. Don't fully comprehend the down votes - they do things authentic to their standards. Maybe a bit insular, but not threatening your health. The indoor ambience isn't too inviting, but it's homely. You pick up on the dynamics between the different staff - it's personal, they care and that's a good place to start. The service can be a little untimely, but they do a large part of their business as carry-out. The chefs prepare in a visible prep area. Ingredients are fresh. You may notice a few guests enter / exit before you are served - don't get peeved! The Chicken shawarma dinner plate is fantastic - a little pricy but a meal for two with leftovers. The rice is prepared perfectly as well. Not dried, nor soupy and the almond is nice touch. The lentil soup tastes fresh, along with the Fattoush salad. Food is good but pricey and I usually don't mind because it saves me a trip to Dearborn for the really good stuff. However, i sent my mom there today to pick up food because she was in the area. I order online, says lunch specials 12 - 4pm. pickup was set for 3:45. So when she gets there, they tell her no it ends at 3 and charge her another $30. That's some BS, fix your online order site or honor what it says. but no they denied it and argued with her. She's older and not one to be confrontational at all so of course they took advantage. I wish i went to pick it up. I go there all the time. But now I'd rather take the drive to Dearborn and hit Al-Ameer's or any place down there for that matter. Way better food and way better prices. And they know what hospitality is. It'll be a long time before and if I return. Can't believe I spent so much money for such lackluster food. We ordered on Doordash, but I wish we would've checked here first for the rating and other reviews. The chicken shawarma sandwich was half the size of other, cheaper, tastier places, and it tasted like the meat may had been grilled at one point, but definitely not recently. The pickles tasted like tin. My rice had no flavor. The garlic sauce was incredibly bitter. I have been a patron of Mediterranean restaurants for over 10 years, and must say this is the worst I've ever had. My coworkers agree. If you're trying to stay in business amongst all these other delicious, fresh establishments...serve fresh, seasoned food. People can tell the difference. read more

First, but not the last visit. The food was excellent, though admittedly a bit pricey. We had the Turkish Grilled Kofta and Meza Grilled Kabab. Both were yummy, though the Kofta was our favorite. The grilled veggies were outstanding and my Fattoush side salad was huge and tasty. My son was less impressed with the lentil soup- which was probably because of a little heavy hand with spices, which were less familiar to him. We got the fresh Hommous and bread for later and they were both phenomenal. I'll be going back just for that! Finally, we got a box of the Sesame Cookies. I'm a sucker for them and these were yummy. There's something to say for hype and how it draws us all in... I guess I should've known better than to think it would me possible for an authentic Mediterranean eatery to be in this area. After all its been years since Fatoosh has ruled the downtown spot as the best falafel, shwarma, hummus and of course can't forget their kibbee... No one here wears a mask. I sat and watched a waitress with her mask under her chin serve food to people. Multiple customers were in the lobby shaking hands and hugging without masks on. One of them had his hand over the plastic into the kitchen shaking hands with a cook that kept taking his mask down to talk while standing over food. disgusting. the older waitress tried to argue that as long as they are three feet away it's fine. how dumb? what happens when you, a lady who looks well into her 60s, contracts the virus? This place is the epitome of mixed reviews, but I was close and needed my hummus and falafel fix. Overall, my experience was very average. I ordered take out and asked them to have it ready by a certain time. I only had to wait about 10 additional minutes for my order, so that was fine. The food? Meh. I ordered vegetarian grape leaves, hummus (which comes with bread) and falafel wraps. The hummus was pretty good! I really enjoyed the bread that came along with it - so soft and delicious. The vegetarian grape leaves were pretty average. Mezza's grape leaves had a thicker layer of leaves than I'm used to, but that wasn't bad. I will say that they were better cold, as leftovers. The falafel wraps were exactly what I expected, and very averagely so. Overall, it was a pretty underwhelming experience. We used to come here all the time - I'm talking once or twice per week. The food was always great and the prices were OK. We would split a greek chicken salad with a small hummous and our bill would usually come out to be around $20. However, it was always really awkward because you could tell the manager was really harsh on his staff. I mean, yelling at them in front of the customers for small little things that were just harmless mistakes. Sometimes this person would even have a rude tone with us, the paying customers! I'm not one to judge the way you run your business, but it could get pretty hostile, fast. That was the biggest reason we quit going. We were sad because their food was always very delicious, but a new place opened up where the staff is extremely nice and the food is just as good and the prices are better.
