This was one of the most memorable dining experiences ever! Fantastic food, great company, and an amazing host! Just go - you won't be disappointed! TLDR: They must have been short staffed the Monday before Christmas but that kinda worked to our favor. We were dining with old friends and wanted a slow meal without feeling rushed anyway. So we had the owner, Rito, as our server most the night. He was a blast! We shared stories, many drinks, and special desert with Rito! Everything was absolutely delicious. We started with the burrata & prosciutto and the side artichokes as our appetizers. Both were insanely flavorful. Main dishes were the special squid ink tortellacci, Gnocchi Alla Bava, & Petto Di Pollo Principessa. Again, all delicious and we ate every last nite, but the gnocchi was the star! I've been craving it ever since that night. Now, in case you haven't picked up on the trend, dessert was delicious! We ordered tiramisu and another dessert (the name escapes me) that was like gelato with zabaione in the center. Absolutely delicious! We mentioned to Rito that they should consider adding a zabaione dessert to the menu, and next thing we knew a special dessert was delivered to our table! Service at best medicore. Waited over an hour to put in our entree order-and even then it was necessary for us to flag down our server who seemed to disappear for long periods of time. At one point I observed him behind the bar taking a quick drink with another server. Cocktails took very long to arrive. Food also just mediocre. The table appeared to have been put in the center of the floor to accommodate our group of seven. My leg kept hitting the bar under the table. Noise level very high. Always an amazing experience here! The food and atmosphere are top notch. We had great drinks, dinner, and dessert. The trio pasta (not on the menu) was outstanding, and both the filet and branzino were incredibly fresh and flavorful. All the pastas were delicious and clearly made fresh. I was looking forward to an amazing dinner at silver spoon for awhile. Unfortunately I was totally disappointed with the entire dining experience. I made a reservation for 1. I was seated at a table by the window. After I was given water the server arrived a few minutes later. I asked her for recommendation on the marinaded grilled octopus. She said it was one of her favorites. When it arrived the plate presentation was beautiful. Unfortunately I couldn't cut it with a knife. After about 15 or more minutes the server finally came back. I told her about it and she apologized. For my entree I ordered the mushroom pasta which had no flavor and the sauce was a watered down nothing . I didn't order dessert or coffee because I didn't want to have a wait again. The owner never came by the table or acknowledged my bad appetizer, even though he walked by my table a number of times. I guess I single woman having dinner is not one of his top priorities. I dine out a lot and have never written a review before. Shame on you and your restaurant. This place was fantastic--from the homemade pasta to the warm, inviting atmosphere. It was my first time here, and I would definitely recommend it. Not only is the interior beautiful, but our waiter was also extremely professional and knowledgeable. Since the pasta is made fresh, it does take a bit of time to arrive, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Sitting on the deck by the creek was the perfect compliment for our meal. Service was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Dairy free options are available and they are happy to accommodate. For parking, we parked in the lot behind near the police station that is shared with the rear parking of recipes. It was easy accessible and plenty of spots available. read more

Silver Spoon is by far my favorite fine dining Italian restaurant in the Metro Detroit area. My favorite entree is the pasta trio. I usually get a half order and it is delicious. There are nightly specials and I have never had a dish I didn't enjoy. There is an extensive wine list or you can bring your own wine for a $35 corkage charge. We've always had excellent service. The ambiance in the restaurant is great as well as the outdoor elevated patio. The patio has a view of a wooded area and relaxing stream. The real treat on this visit was the live music. It was the B Side with lead singer Cat Wiley. She has an excellent voice and the band plays a great variety of music. They started at 7 p.m. and played three sets. They perform once a month, usually on a Thursday. We are going again next month with a group of eight for a wonderful dining experience and fun entertainment. read more

I think their 3.5 stars is perfect! We brought our mom here for her birthday and the interior is beautiful and so is the view! Very difficult to find the entrance once parked (in my opinion). They had live music and they preformed beautifully but the place is small and the music was constant and sooooooo loud it was difficult to communicate with the family at our table. Food was ok to average at best but the prices weren't bad. For five of us, two drinks, two apps, five entrees it was $310 which again, is not bad! Flavors on all dishes could have been way better. Dishes to stick to for entree were the gnocchi and the seafood pasta that's served in the tinfoil. Red snapper left much to be desired as did the lamb orecchiette pasta (sooooo hard and doughy unlike any other fresh pasta I've had) and the pasta trio (not on menu). The band plays happy birthday but our server brought out mom's cake and had the band play while we were washing up from dinner and in the restroom. We came back to her at the table with the cake. Very bizarre. Wouldn't be my first choice but not terrible overall! read more

If it wasn't for the dessert and coffee drink it would be - stars. We had empty bread plates, others got bread baskets, we did not. The appetizer "scampi" came with tasteless red sauce and the calamari textured like rubber bands. The salad "gorgonzola" was yellow and soft, yuck. The tableside pasta carbonara had hard noodles and was cold. The table was not bussed unless we asked. The dirty table picture attached here I counted the server walk by 14 times, and others servers/bussers 5 before we had to ask again to clear the table. I also heard a server yelling at the, who I think was, owner about the poor quality of food. The only saving grace was the dessert and coffee drinks. Yikes, I would rather have spent several hundred at Olive Garden. A definite off night or this place has just plain garbage food. PS it was not busy at all, so no excuse for lack of labor. read more

The food was excellent and I would definitely eat there again. Unfortunately, our service was not up to par. The restaurant was either understaffed or the server was not very efficient. We waited several times to get drinks refreshed and had to go out of our way to get the server's attention. A mistake was made on our bill and the server did correct it to include discounting a few drinks but the overall the experience was taxing. The restaurant is very well appointed and comfortable. I would definitely ask to sit near the windows overlooking the creek when making any future reservations. read more

Onto the good our waitress was great attentive, friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu, we ordered Carpaccio Di Polpo-marinated octopus with lemon, olive oil and herbs. It was very good small portions for sure. Spinach salad with grilled shrimp and a chefs special that night pasta with lobster. On the first try pasta was uneatable due to too much salt, no problem they redid it right away and it was great. Also they do have a prosciutto stand where they can slice it up for you portion style as an app it was very fresh and flavorful. They thing that I didn't like was the decor it felt rundown, definitely not a posh hip place to be or to be seen. This is where you would take your grandma for dinner. read more

I still stand by all my comments from my original review. Incredible food and ambiance. But I was so incredibly disappointed with my recent visit, waiting over 45 minutes to be seated...with a reservation! The two hostesses were working very hard and helping to clear/set tables and clearly communicate the situation to all parties waiting for a table from their reservation. No complaints about any employees. It was the situation. This used to be a special restaurant for me and my husband; since we haven't been here in about 9 years, we wanted to wait for our table. I have never experienced that long of a wait for a reservation anywhere. If the restaurant is that busy, they shouldn't be accepting reservations. Our reservation was made around 5pm, for two people at 8pm later that evening. We were seating around 8.50pm. Hopefully the restaurant will not "overbook" reservations going forward. read more

Four stars for a lovely evening. First of all...if you've never been there...good luck finding it. GPS will take you to a dead end behind a BP gas station. Keep looking...you'll find it eventually...but an actual sign out on Main would be helpful. They have 3 little silver spoons on a sign. Impossible to see if you're driving down Main. Anyway. Service was excellent!!! Nice wine list. Good cocktails. The calamari appetizer was delicious. But it didn't come with anything to dip it in. It was good, though. I had the Orecchiette pasta with lamb chucks. Very good...but for the price, I could have used a little more lamb. The sauce was delicious!! read more

I will give a 3 but the 3.6 rating on Yelp feels right. Haven't been here for a long time, ever since they moved, but I'd go to other places before I'd go back. The food: had a couple apps (caprese and polenta), but would rank polenta above. Caprese was okay but felt like they put a cheap balsamic dressing on it versus a high quality balsamic. Got the penne and sausage fresh pasta entree and was quite good and flavorful. Other entree was the gnocchi which was good but be prepared for a heavy entree. Drinks were fine - limoncello martini was not as good as another Italian restaurant in downtown Rochester (starting with a 'B'), but was okay. Service was fine but not standout. Ambiance: this is where all the stars fall off. The restaurant doesn't have that cozy feel like the old place did, and instead feels cheap and slightly tacky - not refined like I would expect here. The building area that this is in is a trash hole but that is building owners versus them necessarily. The people there were interesting to say the least. Might have been the night but if you are looking for cool, this isn't your place. The patio looked nice though especially during a nice summer evening right on the water. A couple small items that bothered me: 1) they kept wheeling carts out both to bring food (which I can understand depending on dish), but then they kept clearing using the carts as well. They brought our food on a cart which wasn't required. To have people's used plates be constantly passed by us on carts lacked class...this is supposed to be nice restaurant, have people clear plates by hand. 2) the menu was dirty (like oil dripped on it) and torn. This is one of first impressions people get at their table and I thought this was poor also. So bottom line - food was good overall, but there are equal restaurants in area. The ambience, people, and small refinements would cause me to not go back quickly. read more

This place is pretty cute, especially for a date night or birthday celebration. The interior decor was very Mediterranean and cozy. The waiter was friendly, helpful, and very attentive to our table. So, the service was amazing!! For Appetizers, we had Fritto Misto Di Pesce All'italiana (Calamari) - the calamari was very fresh but I wish they provided a dipping sauce to eliminate the taste of the oil. The sausage bruschetta - was good and something different, there were lots of flavors. My brother and his friend ended up getting the Prosciutto, which was fresh and really good (highly recommend it when drinking wine). For Entrée, I got the Calm pasta (sorry, do not know the Italian dish). The dish was okay, it lacked flavor and some zest. Would I get it again? No, but I did try my brother's dish, the Salmon pasta (homemade pasta, plus) and I would totally get that next time. For Dessert, my mother and I split the Tiramisu and it was great! Would I recommend this place to family and friends? Yes, I would tell them to try it out and experience the food and drinks. read more

Seated by a small two top with a view of paint creek. Kat is waiting on us tonight. Kat gave us a run down of the specials, she knows it by heart too. She's pleasant. We ordered a Mediterranean seafood salad, insalata della casa, scallopa di salmone al cartoccio and funghetti trifolati. We decided to try their basket of the fresh Italian bread, since it's made by the chef and owner. The bread is decent, the olive tapenade is quite good, along with the chili oil. The insalata della casa was good, nice balsamic, baby artichokes. The mushrooms were nicely sautéed and yummy. The Mediterranean seafood salad tasty, fresh and had a nice vinaigrette. The scallopa di salmone al cartoccio was nicely seasoned, tomato sauce base and spicy too. Everything was perfectly cooked in the foil. It was plated at the table. They roll out table carts to bring out the food. I do like that all of the staff help each other out. Take credit cards, run food out to tables, grind pepper onto salads, refill water, clear off tables, etc. even the owner or manager runs food out to tables. The food and service was all good tonight. One note, the dead bees need to be removed between the panes of glass. read more

First of all the food was great! Service was great. The fuckin band man, wtf!?!? I went with friends for a monthly meet up for dinner. We pick new spots to hit each month. The second I walked in I immediately knew the next hour and half was going to miserable. We had a table half way across from the band, which was situated between the bar area and dining room. The entire time they played it was impossible to have a conversation without completely yelling. Our waiter did his best, but had to repeat himself constantly throughout the night. I don't have issues with live music that is appropriate for the atmosphere. If you are in a tight space and have a 5-6 piece band jamming at concert level at a very nice Italian restaurant- does that make any sense at all!?!? It was like we were trapped in Rob Thomas music video for Cialis! I'm not kidding. If I ever go back, I'll be sure to call a head and make sure there is no band that evening. read more

CELEBRATED our anniversary and my wife's retirement with a party of 8 last night. RITO nd his team helped e put together a 5 course meal like i used to have in NY at celebration's. it was terrific - thanks to the prep and service .THe pasta course and branzino course were outstanding and the dessert- tiramisu is the best i have had in the USA OR EUROPE. Heard great things for years and haven't had a chance to try. It did not disappoint. For starters, the look / ambience is very classy. The food is excellent. They have dry and freshly made pastas, we only ordered from the freshly made section because the pictures look awesome - and they tasted great. The meat dishes were fabulous, we did not have any room for desert. Our waiter was extremely attentive, he was very well balanced, didn't stop by too many times, didn't stop by too few times - was just right. We will be back again! read more

While the food was very good and the bartender was wonderful as she always is, I made a reservation at the beginning of the week for this evening. I specifically requested the patio and when I spoke to the manager when making the reservation, he confirmed my request. We arrived 5 minutes prior to our reservation time only to be told that "no tables were available on the patio" but we could be seated immediately inside or wait approximately 30 minutes for the patio. When I told them I had made a reservation specifically for the patio, I was told that the patio was first come, first serve. Not only was that NEVER conveyed to me, but what exactly is the point of making a reservation?! I told them that was terrible customer service and basically, they didn't care. We dine at Silver Spoon regularly but this will definitely make me think again about frequenting this establishment. When you pay $100+ per person to dine somewhere, I expect far better customer service than we experienced tonight. Do better! read more

Little Italian gem tucked away in the heart of Rochester downtown. It was a bit difficult to find the restaurant location on my Waze, but I suppose that adds to some of the intrigue and excitement in finding this restaurant. We entered thru the back door which appeared to have seating over looking a river but then walked into the restaurant and found the front entrance to greet the hostess. The service here was pretty good, and it was crowded which indicates it was a good choice too on a Saturday night for dinner. It did not appear that social distancing was totally a thing here as tables were not completely spread out or masking being enforced with the guests dining in, so I'd keep that in mind if it bothers you. Food wise, the drink menu was decent and the complimentary bread basket served with an olive tapenade was phenomenal! We also tried the sausage bruschetta which had meat heaped upon it. As a previous reviewer said it is a bit noisy in here with the dinner carts rolling all over the floor but that aside, I could tell the pastas were home made and pretty delicious. I had salmon in my pasta and while I couldn't tell at times how much was in there, I think it was melted into the sauce in such a way that it was still very delicious. This is definitely a worthwhile stop in Rochester if you're craving authentic Italian food! read more

This place is tucked in and would of never known about it if my friend didn't invite me out to dinner here. Amazing food!!! House made pastas, and you can tell their sauces are made in the house as well as super fresh! We stayed outside on the patio, I wish they had more heating lamps tho, for a pricy place I'm sure they could afford to buy a couple more and have one at each end of the patio and one in the middle. It's nice to enjoy the patio but weather here is already freezing. Our server was very nice, explained a lot of dishes to us, even treated me to a nice piece of tiramisu for my birthday! . I LOVE their bread and dipping oil/olive tapanade! Super good, I liked to mixed them both and scoop them on too the bread slice My meal was simple yet delicious, the little bitty potato that came with it was to die for!
