The chicken shawarma was incredible -- juicy, loaded with perfectly cooked chicken, and seasoned just right. It wasn't too crispy, but had that perfect little edge that gives it great texture. One was a chicken shawarma 1/2 rice & 1/2 lettuce, it weighed over 2 lbs! The small tzatziki was much bigger than I expected, and delicious. The cashier girl was really nice and helpful with answering questions. The place is clean and spacious for being in a small space, but it was super hot inside since there isn't much of a divide between the large grill they cook the food on. It was hotter inside than outside! The price for food portion was pretty decent, at least for the wrap it was good in my opinion. It was stuffed full of chicken that was falling out at the ends. I liked the chopped pickles and ordered without lettuce (lettuce gets soggy with garlic sauce). Falafel were thick, interior moist (not dry) and exterior not crispy (could be due to sitting in container) . Spinach pies were triangular shaped, wrapped in a bread dough and delicious! This replaced Garbanzo's on Garfield and is an improvement. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The place is clean, which is good since cooking is done in the open. They offer a variety of options for the base of their bowls: bulgur, rice, lettuce, fries or spicy potatoes. The bulgur is a tad spicy, but not too much. We like the bowls as they cover 2-3 meals for us. We enjoyed the shawarmas and beef Kacy's so far. I found the lentil soup a tad disappointing. Yallah is my solid go-to for Lebanese food! Excellent food quality and wonderful customer service. The staff is always so friendly and you are treated like family. Their chicken shawarma bowl is HUGE, loaded with chicken and many other toppings like rice, lettuce, veggies, and their delicious pita chips. I like the new location (moved into the old Garbanzo's spot) on Hall Rd. and Garfield Rd. The food is always fresh and tasty. I will say they never skimp on their portions. You will find higher prices on the delivery apps, but if you order through the restaurants website, there is a minor online ordering fee (I paid $0.42 for a $13.99 bowl). I will say the restaurant interior was a little more basic than the Garbanzo's that was there prior, but keep in mind that the old location never had indoor seating, only pickup. Ok, let me start off by saying, I was super disappointed that Garbanzo shut down and saw that a new business was taking its place. However, my disappointment did not last long. I decided to try Yallah Express about a month or so ago and have been back consistently since. This place is SOOOOOO good and I cannot stress that enough. If you are a fan of middle eastern food, you are going to love this place. The food is made fresh. The place is clean. The staff is so nice and welcoming. I've lived in this area since 2006 and in that time, I've seen the location on the Northeast corner be a revolving door of different businesses, pizza, bbq twice, ice cream, burgers, and at least one other Middle Eastern place. None have lasted much longer than a year. Yallah Express may break the streak. Stopped in for the first time after seeing lots of good comments on Facebook. I could tell something was different from the moment I walked it. The lobby with a small dine in area had been completely remodeled. It looked great, everything was bright, spotless and I liked the open kitchen vibe. We ordered a few different items.first let me say, the portions were very generous. Maybe enough for 2 meals Chicken Shawarma bowl-my wife loved it Chicken shawarma sandwich- very good, the chicken was nice and Julian's well seasoned Beef shawarma dinner- great dish, the beef was great and there were some yummy crispy bits from the outside of the cone and none of the fatty bits that sneak in sometimes Hummus- great smooth hummus, no chunks and nice balance of garlic and tahini Spicy potatoes-taste was good but I wish they were a little crispier. First just want to start off by saying the customer service here is top tier! We've ordered a few times and have always loved it. Today we were missing our side of garlic and a quick phone call fixed the issue with no problem. Now on to the food, we ordered the combo for 3 with all rice, side of wheat bulgur, large garlic, small hummus, and an extra side of Beef kabob. This place was great! We stopped here for a quick little meal, something in between a snack and a while lunch. It ended up being a pretty sizable portion, but we weren't mad about it. I got the chicken shawarma wrap, and it was super long. I really liked it, I thought it was chicken-heavy, it was well-cooked, and the flavors played together really well. I live for the garlicky toum sauce, and that was a great compliment to the wrap. My husband got the tabbouleh salad and added gyro meat to it. I liked it, it was very punch-you-in-the-face-with-flavor, but my husband found it to be a little bit too salty and acidic. Both the inside and the outside of the locale are unassuming and clean, but the best places are like this. The staff was friendly and got us our food as fast as they could. The people that work there are very nice.They brought my order out to my vehicle, however the food was a different story. I ordered a chicken shwarma vegetarian grape leaves, two spinach pies & lentil soup. The chicken in the shawarma was extremely dry, the lentil soup tasted like pepper, the spinach pies after two no spinach & vegetarian grape leaves were nothing but rice rolled up and the leaves were very salty because they hadn't been rinsed out of the brine. I threw everything out cause.I was sick to my stomach after eating some of it. Now I grew up on this food, so I know how it's made, and this does not hit the mark at all. read more
