Dr. Izaac and his team are amazing people, that's the first thing I need to preface. Everyone wants to feel welcome and well cared for, instantly you feel that you are in good hands from the moment you walk in and are greeted by the incredible lovely human "Christie." My husband has a rare and serious eye condition, Dr. Izaac is a specialist experienced in this rare condition. We were relieved and blessed to have been so well cared for locally by such an amazing Dr. My husband had a follow up appointment yesterday and as it turned out I had an urgent eye matter at the same time, Christie squeezed me in and the Dr. and his fantastic assistant took good care of me without an appointment, they didn't have to help me, they wanted to, such good people. My husband's special contacts have allowed him to see this world better than he has in fifteen years, truly a life changer our gratitude is deep. There is a section in the same office that sells eyewear, really great selections and equally great a sweet lady ready to assist, so convenient. Five stars is simply not enough! read more

I have been getting my eyes checked out since I was 9 years old and have been in contacts since the age of 10 (that's almost 31 years of eye poking). I have had many, many eye doctors and Dr. Izaac was the most thorough optometrist that I have ever been to. Not only was the exam hitting all the bases ( and a few that I have never even heard of before), he was extremely nice and explained everything that was going to happen. He took the time to really answer my questions and explained things about my eyes that I have never known before. He has this retinal scan that they take of your eye and then show you pictures of your total eyeball. It was pretty cool. This procedure is not covered by insurance and the cost is $39, but there is absolutely no pressure to purchase this and it does give you a visual peace of mind that your eyes are healthy. His optician ( I can't remember her name) is also really helpful and spends the time with you to find the best financial deal with your insurance. She also scheduled me in to see Dr. Izaac really quickly since I was having problems with my contacts. I already had frames for my glasses, so I don't know about their selection or prices on those, but once you are a patient, they will give you a discount on your eye exam. Honestly, if you are looking for a good eye doctor, Dr. Izaac is your man. The office validates parking for an hour, or there is plenty of metered parking on Ventura, and the office is really pleasant. read more

SO EXPENSIVE, insane. Will never ever, ever go back again. So expensive, more pricey than Lenz Crafters. Almost $1000 for 2 pairs of glasses, and that's with eye insurance they said "was really good eye insurance." Probably good for them, they pad their prices and make a big profit off the insurance companies and the consumer gets the pay the rest. Dr. Izaac was nice. But he pretty much lets those 2 ladies run the ship in regards to your purchase. They don't have that many frames in anyway. And what they tell you about progressives is not entirely accurate. Their out going voice mail should say "If you don't make over $100,000 a year, please go elsewhere." They seem to cater to the wealthy of Encino. Live and learn. read more

I just had my second visit to Dr. Meyer Izaac. My first visit was about five years ago. At that time, as a newly-diagnosed diabetic, I needed a retina exam but I'm allergic to dilation drops. Fortunately, Dr. Izaac's office has the "Optomap" camera which takes a retina photo without dilation. A few days prior to my visit to Dr. Izaac, I had a regular eye exam at "Eyexam 2000" in "Lenscrafters." The optometrist was not able to get a clear retina photo with their Optomap camera. She tried several times & all she could get was an almost-completely black image. Even sitting in darkness for 15 minutes didn't help. The Dr. suggested something may be wrong with my pupils. I suggested something may be wrong with their camera. Little did I know that we were both mistaken. I then phoned Dr. Izaac's office & made an appointment. Since I already had a complete eye exam, all I wanted was a retina photo. Dr. Meyer's assistant was able to get two excellent retina photos with the same camera Lenscrafters uses. Turns out, the problem was not Lenscrafters' camera, it was the SKILL LEVEL of their optometrist. Dr. Izaac also examined my eyes for other possible eye issues related to diabetes, even though I hadn't requested it. If every medical professional were as caring & thorough as Dr. Izaac, the world would be a much-better place. I'll be seeing Dr. Izaac from now on. If you want quality care, I suggest you do the same. read more

I chose this doctor based on its proximity to my office and its many positive Yelp reviews. Great staff and nice office. Prices are very reasonable. And Dr. Izaac is meticulous and thorough -- you really want this in any doctor. The office is small but very clean, and by all appearances they have top of the line equipment. While they do not have a large assortment of frames (I don't deduct a star for this because I am rating them as a doctor's office and not a retail store), they definitely have enough variety of frames to do a proper fitting. I told Dr. Izaac the other day when I had my yearly checkup that my appointments with him were the only doctors appointments I actually looked forward to. Dr. Izaac is amazingly thorough and thoughtful. He is truly a caring professional and has cured a years-long eye problem I've been battling. He has state-of-the art equipment for diagnosing and imaging your eyes as well as the finest hand diagnostic tools. He's fully computerized and yet will use the simplest tools when needed. Prescriptions are a snap for him since he's tied into the Prescription Networks of the major pharmacies. Scheduling is not a problem as Christie, his capable office assistant, gets you in when you need I've never waited more than 10 minutes past my scheduled time. It's funny, Christie is Dr. Izaac Yang to his Ying - makes for a fun appointment. There is a full service eyeglass store in the office, too. I had some sunglass lenses replaced there for a good price and will be bringing my wife there for her appointments and glasses as well. AND, there is a Ophthalmologist in the office as well, in case you've got some serious eye problems. I highly recommend Dr. Meyer Izaac. Great place to go for your eyes. read more

First thing first, I ended up not using Meyer's service at all, due to his unprofessional office service and marketing. The incident happened 3-4 years ago that I visited his office the first time, and at first it was my fault that I visited the office one day early of my actual appointment. But the office lady was nicely refusing to squeeze in an appointment even though no one was waiting at my presence. On the way out, the office lady also 'nicely' refusing pricy parking fee validation, which are entitled to his customers based on his policy. I am usually forgivable and forgetful about leaving feedbacks, but on top of that, his marketing crew keep spamming emails to my emails and spamming messages to my cell phone to remind me leaving this negative feedback. read more

What a nice experience. First of all, they are totally tech savvy, which is uncommon with doctors. They reply by email and even facebook messages! They take saturday appointments which is HUGE for me since I work during the week. The office staff is ON POINT, which is also very uncommon. They are actually friendly, care about the work, respect the doctor, and know their stuff. The doctor is very thorough, does not rush you at all, and listens. Top notch. From there, they have a great selection of glasses that are trendy and cute. They will take their time with you while you select and try them on. I agree with the reviewers who say that everybody at this office is nice, friendly, etc. BUT...the glasses just were not right. The prescription was off and the frames didn't fit despite several adjustments. I wanted to return them right away, but they stalled me with "adjustments" until the 30 day return period was up. Now, I'm stuck with a useless $700 pair of glasses. I tried discussing it with Dr. Izaac, but he was defensive and offered no solution. Sooo.....I guess I'll suck this one up as an expensive lesson and go somewhere else that will, hopefully, get it right. read more

He is, absolutely, as good as it gets! I have been to four other optometrists and thought my eyes were fine. He took one look at my eyes and diagnosed my severe dry eye almost instantly. After treatment, my redness went away. The glassy look in my eyes went away, and he even suggested that I don't get contact lenses even when I thought I needed them. (This saved me money, and in theory, cost him money.) He is all about the patient and what is best for them. I have never waited to be seen because they schedule enough time to see each patient. Great doctor! So happy I found him! The staff is amazing as well. Knowledgeable, kind, great sense of humor. Everyone knows what they are doing and it makes the experience so easy and painless. Since being flagged as a glaucoma suspect in my early 20s, I've had to endure full-bore ophthalmic exams every six months for twenty years. So I've become something of an expert in the field of ophthalmologists! Dr. Izaac is absolutely the best I've seen. His facility has top-notch equipment, his staff is tremendously professional, caring, and just plain fun. Will you pay more than you would at the QuikySpecs down the road? Absolutely. But QuikySpecs is not suited to anything but the most basic grab-and-go service. If you're used to seeing a private OD, and you want the highest standard for care, Dr. Izaac's rates are right in line. Also: PHENOMENAL selection of frames! Fantastic doctor, fantastic staff. Just had my second appointment yesterday and was very happy with it! There was zero wait, I had a very thorough exam and I felt great leaving because not only had I ordered a year supply of contacts DIRT cheap (Acuvue Tru Eye too!) but I also had a very pleasant exam experience. Dr. Izaac's staff took pictures of my eyes and then Dr. Izaac showed me that image in 3D so I was able to see behind my eye and everything. Super cool! I highly recommend seeing Dr. Izaac! The entire staff is very nice and treats my 94 year old Dad like a star. Dr. Izaac was able to diagnose my Dad's macular degeneration using his Optomap retina exam (free with Yelp check in offer). My Dad has very limited vision now, but the Dr. did his best to get my Dad a prescription for reading glasses so he can still read the newspaper. This is a business that treats it's customers well and great customer business is hard to find these days. Parking is in a paid underground lot (no validation) or metered street parking. read more

Fun staff and great doctor. I liked how thorough the exam was (I went with the more expensive "Optomap" camera option - which as of 1/24/14, there is a coupon for on Yelp) and that they provide you with a printout of their findings regarding your current eye health at the end of the visit. I went there for a regular eye exam. That part of the experience was ok. Got the prescription etc. The part of the exam that really turned me off was the constant upsell (by the doctor and the staff). I have a minor dry eyes issue (no where near requiring intervention). They ask you to fill out a questionnaire (about dry eyes) in the beginning when signing in. They then use that to get you to sign up for getting monthly delivery of fish oil tablets. These are expensive especially if you don't need them. And they are available for cheaper elsewhere. The doctor was very disappointed when I did not sign up for the monthly tablets. Felt like I was talking to a used car salesman rather than an eye doctor. They also wanted me to get a pair of glasses there, I know better than to do that. If it was not for the constant upsell, I would say the experience was OK. I haven't gone back to this guy since. Ah another thing that should be mentioned (I didn't find this an issue), but in the interest of other users who might: Dr Izaac uses an electronic voicebox to speak which might be hard to decipher for some people. Like I said this wasn't an issue for me, but I did feel sorry for him because he had to talk a lot ( I asked a lot of questions). read more
