Meydenbauer Center is a midsize event space in Bellevue. First floor has event, convention space, while second floor is a theater with seating. The event space is well maintained even though it is showing its age somewhat. I visit yearly for the Japan Fair in July. Every year, it looks about the same as the year before - good in terms of maintenance, bad in terms of improvements or lack thereof. Other than being a bit dark inside (the place feels very brown), the space serves its purpose. Parking underneath is a rather spendy. $12 for an hour; the incremental hourly cost increase is a lower rate. The elevator is roomy. The stairs say for emergency only, but it is fine to use without triggering alarms. The bathrooms are clean. During the Japan Fair on a weekend, there are janitors working. I might have given them four stars instead of three stars because of this last aspect. Sometimes a venue has no staff despite having an event. read more

Great location for events!! I came by for a Garba night a few months back, and I really loved how beautiful the place was! The area was brightly lit without being overbearing, and it had numerous walls with the perfect lighting that also served as a backdrop. The area itself was a fairly large room that hosted well over a hundred people. From the strong sound system with a good bass, to the mics that made it easy to hear, the place had a lot of amenities that made it ideal for a big event. Plus, it even had disco style flashing lights that the organizers used later in the night! As I wasn't an organizer, I have no idea what the cost for renting was, but I definitely found it a good venue for hosting events with larger groups. The only reason I knocked off a star is because it had relatively expensive parking rates in the garage. I understand parking not being free in Seattle, but Bellevue? Come on. I can also understand not wanting random people parking there, but it would've been nice to have some form of parking validation for actual building attendees. Overall, I still think it's a great location and would absolutely recommend considering hosting here! read more

My last visit was for the Bellevue Jazz and Blues Festival with Bobby Rush on Jun. 3rd in the theater. But I've gone to many gala events here. The ceiling of the hall is very high and the conference spaces are spacious. So it's a great place for your convention. I came here for a Star Trek Convention one year. There was the Japan Fair here too 3 and 4 years ago that was free and fun to visit. In a few yrs, the Light rail Station will be open across the street. Right now the Bellevue Transit Center for busses is right across the street. read more

I've visited Meydenbauer Center for various kinds of events, and overall, it's always been a good venue for what the event entailed. Meydenbauer Center is located in downtown Bellevue, right next to Bellevue City Hall, the transit center and the Bravern. It does have its own parking garage, but there are plenty of parking lots nearby. Its location is primarily the appeal of hosting events here, with its easy access to free parking. The building is modern and has multiple floors, accessible by elevator and escalators. They are able to host multiple events the same day, including large conferences and events. I've been to the ballroom before, which has a main stage and can accommodate hundreds of people. But there are also smaller conference rooms and a theater with a performance stage and row seats. Overall, I don't mind when an event takes place at the Meydenbauer Center, as it's easy to get to, spacious and modern, and staff has always been helpful in directing people where to go. read more

Nice, fancy place. I went here for the 2015 Child's Play Dinner ran by the Penny Arcade folk. The food was delicious but seemed a bit limited in portion size. I received the ranch steak which was so smooth you could cut it with the side of your fork. We had the option of steak, chicken, or butternut squash ravioli. While registering for the dinner on the Penny Arcade website, we had to choose our dinner option during checkout. As for the desserts, we weren't allowed to choose what we wanted. We were simply given either a pomegranate dessert or a chocolate one and weren't able to switch it out. It lead to us trying to swap around the table since some of us had allergies or severe preference. Out of me just dealing with it, I ate the pomegranate dessert since chocolate was the most sought after one. I did have a bit of the chocolate and wow, was it good. I kind of wish chocolate was the default, to be honest. That was probably the worst part of the dinner. Hopefully next time during checkout, we can choose our dessert along with the dinner. This wasn't a Meydenbauer issue, moreso an issue with the checkout service but still could've been better orchestrated by Meydenbauer employees in person. As far as parking, it wasn't included with my ticket. Event parking was underneath the complex for $10 - which wasn't bad. I just wish parking was included in the ticket price. The parking attendant quizzed us on the event information to make sure we weren't lying as to get a better rate than anywhere else in the city. I found this a bit strange. My boyfriend and I were dressed up in a suit and ball gown, pretty sure we're not taking advantage of the inexpensive Bellevue parking haha. Overall, people were kind and accommodating. Coat-check was fast and efficient. There were an abundance of options for different kind of alcoholic drinks, which was great. Some awkward hiccups make the venue a 4/5 stars. Beautiful conference center to host an event in. Came here to attend CppCon and there was plenty of space available for our company to host a booth and many lectures going on in tandem throughout the center that hosted hundreds of people. The close location to nearby restaurants made it easy to pop out for a quick bite to eat as needed. read more

Came here for the NUVO dance convention the first weekend in February. They did a great job with organization and the rooms were spacious and well appointed. There were a couple of kitchen/wait staff who were obviously having an issue with so many people being there, maybe think about some retraining so they aren't throwing fits when they have to move slowly through crowds of people... The parking garage was cheap which I appreciated. The whole center was also easy to navigate and find where you were going which I really appreciated. read more

This used to be the home of PAX and the Child's Play Dinner and Charity Auction. Both events moved downtown to the WSCTC but this year, Child's Play returned to the eastside to hold its event back at the Meydenbauer. Comparing the two spaces doesn't seem fair, Meydenbauer offered a larger space for the charity event while the WSCTC is far better equipped for PAX. Parking was pricey but easy. The catering service was decent with friendly servers. Overall I prefer the convention centre in Seattle for its distance from our place and the size but I have no tangible complaints about this facility. read more

My boyfriend and I attended the Downtown Bellevue Association event on Thursday evening, February 2nd. We were PLEASANTLY surprised by the incredible and OUTSTANDING service we received. Clara REALLY exceeded our expectations. I mean WOW!!! She was friendly, outgoing, sweet, helpful, prompt, mannerly, professional, warm, inviting, funny, VERY PROACTIVE and accommodating. Please give her a raise! The impeccable service didn't end there. In between Clara helping us we had a VERY nice gentleman (I didn't catch his name) who was so full of positive and happy energy. He left a lasting impression. The employees at the Meydenbauer Center seemed to genuinely enjoy their job. In my opinion this speaks volumes about management and the culture of the company. Since service these days has seemed to dwindle a little it's nice to experience such exceptional service. Thank you to everyone who made our experience at Meydenbauer Center so enjoyable! A venue for conferences and events. Have attended numerous functions here. Parking is limited due to the Braven next door, but if you come early, you will find parking at the main building. Otherwise, you will need to park a block or two away. Good size foyer area for registration setup or reception - nothing fancy about it though. The ballroom is one of the larger ones with a seating capacity of about 2,000 banquet style. It's not a hotel ballroom so no fancy interiors, but it's definitely the "go-to" ballroom for Bellevue because of its size and location. Food is always decent and service is good. read more

I want to say,"cheese balls". The only cheese balls you will find, tho, is a fulll long block away. Our conference of about 1200 people had enough space, was clean and bathrooms attended to. However, the powers did not want us to bring in outside food for our VERY LONG .. like 8 hours nonstop business meetings. Their reason: competition wiht the ONE TINY food snack cart. The snack cart had coffee and lattes, stale bagels and plastic somethings. Though feeling starved, I cruised this cart many times and went back to the apple I had hidden in my bag and ate more friends candy than I have eaten all year. Fine, ban outside food. Go fo ryou rprofiit!!! THEN sell something something which the 1000 people might like: oranges, grapefruits, cheese and crackers, triscuits, potatoe chips and dip, cottage cheese. warmed up pizza, couscous. read more

The Meydenbauer Center is an event center attached to the fancy Bravern shopping center in Bellevue. I attended a hair show there recently (with my mom). When we arrived, about 10 minutes after the show first started we saw a sign indicating that the parking garage was full. We were directed around the corner to use the Bravern lot, and paid $13 for parking. Later when we came back to the car I saw a sign in the garage that said "Enjoy complimentary parking on weekends!" Guess they decided to take advantage of the situation. Because of where we parked, it was kind of difficult to get into the Meydenbauer Center. We had to go down a steep hill, dodging random women falling off their high heels and then in an entrance that was under the main staircase going up. It wasn't the most impressive entry. The good - there are plenty of elevators, and the wheelchair accessible stall (just one) was well designed with bars in all the right places and a low hook to hang your bag/jacket on. They also had water coolers set up, so we didn't have to drink out of fountains (this may be event specific). I find that going to the WA State Convention Center in downtown a more enjoyable experience, even if it can be confusing. At least there are crazy parks & waterfall fountains, and you can hang out in downtown Seattle when you're doing with your event (or taking a break). read more

Went to the Meydenbauer Center for the Child's Play auction. A lovely facility with great staffing. Parking took a little while as there are two garages side by side. One is for residents and one is for event visitors. They'll test you by asking what event you're attending. Parking came to $10. The stalls are well sized and we found great parking right by the elevators. The event space is well appointment for a conference center. Basic carpeting, cavernous spaces, tasteful holiday decor, including twinkly lights. Before the event, catering brought passed appetizers (egg rolls, chicken skewers, crab cakes) and champagne flutes. The event dinner was lacking -- a basic caesar, underwhelming steak or chicken, and apple pastry. Basic conference food, though the portions were sizable. Our servers were great. Brought extra rolls and kept the beverages coming. read more

I've used Meydenbauer Center as the location for a large scale convention event for two years running, now. I am the event coordinator for my company, and I couldn't be more pleased with the center and its staff. We had hundreds of attendees from both the US and abroad, and heard no complaints from anyone. The facilities are beautiful, and everyone is incredibly accommodating of your decorating needs, working hard to make the space fit your specifications and needs. Concessions are available, and are both delicious and affordable. Any level of catering can be provided, to make the perfect fit for your specific event. I am always floored by just how many options there are to fit any need or budget. The real crowning jewels of the Meydenbauer experience, though, are the inredibly friendly and capable staff. Stephanie Straw at Visit Bellevue, Sara Dahl from the Meydenbauer Center, Brooklyn, Mickey, Mike, Larry and Linda all come immediately to mind. There is not a single person employed in that building who is anything less than 100% willing to help make your event go as smoothly as possible. Their associates at AV Factory, in particular Pat Morris and Greg, are also a fantastic asset to their team. If you are considering an event in Bellevue, WA, you owe it to yourself to look into the Meydenbauer Center. They definitely know how to put a client's needs first. read more

Nice place, and plenty of parking whenever I come here for business. I usually attend for the Center Hall, where banquets are usually held for my organization. Restrooms are up to date and clean. The employees here are ok, and quite helpful at times. I only paid for parking once here, but the 2nd time coming here, I didn't pay and got the free parking. I haven't had the chance to stop by during the weekdays much. The good thing about the parking here, are the tickets near the elevator to help remind you what level you parked at. This is an awesome place to hold a conference of any size. I've been in here for a lot of events and the place and location is top notch. Some of the events the food was great, other events, I not saying. I don't think it's the fault of the place but the caterers may be to blame. The reason for my not giving it one additional star is the parking. If it is a large conference you are going to, you'd better carpool and get there early. If you have to find some place else to park because their lot is full, you'll be using up another 10 to 15 minutes! All I can say is, if you are attending a large conference there, GET THERE EARLY to get a good place to park!!! read more

NHRMA 2016--Good pick for this years conference. I really liked the modern feel of the place, and the fact that it more compact than last years venue. It's tall and narrow, making getting from the general sessions on the first floor to the mini sessions on the 4th floor a snap via thee escalators. . I used Meydenbauer Center as the location for the annual meeting of my coworkers in my region. I am the region event coordinator for my company. Our party was approximately 70 people. The food was wonderful, flavorful, well-labeled and beautifully displayed. The staff and the AV Factory were timely, friendly and accomodating to the couple last minute requests we had. The venue itself is lovely, mostly well equiped (the meeting rooms we were in were not as well wired for technology as I would have liked), very clean, convenient to the highway, plenty of parking and our event was well labeled on their available signage. My only complaint is with their stipulation that they be the sole provider of any food products. I usually bring as a personal thank you gift to each of the meeting guests a cupcake from a particularly well known cup-cakery in the area. I was not permitted that opportunity here either because Meydenbauer wasn't able to match the quality and novelty of the original or they would have charged me a 50% "corkage" fee to be allowed to bring them in on my own. By the time the terms became known it was too late to come up with a quality plan B. I was quite sad about not having something for my guests and some of them did notice. Aside from this one item, Meydenbauer did a good job attending to the needs and requirements of this meeting. read more

I have been already twice for my kid's school shows. It is spacious, staff are very professional and the backstage is very comfortable for kids and parents. Parking is a little bit pricey but it's downtown Bellevue. The cashiers seem nice. read more
