After all the raves I received the last time I hired MexSal, I was thrilled to hire them again for an Eagle Scout/graduation celebration at our home. First thing I need to mention this time is that MexSal's prices are very reasonable for the service they provide. Carlos and team are pretty much a party in a van; not only did they serve delicious food and drink, they also supplied the cups, plates, utensils, and napkins. I was able to sit back and enjoy spending time with our guests instead of fussing over the food. The taco bar was such a huge hit; it's pretty much the ideal party food, especially they are made-to-order (NOTE: in-person service is available for 50 or more guests.) The churros (not included in their standard menu but available as an add-on) were completely devoured, I highly recommend adding them to your package. Mexsal did a beautiful job of catering a house party for 60 people. The food was freshly prepared by Carlos on site, and delicious! We has pupusas, three types of meat, fish, corn/bean salad and all the fresh accompaniments, including pineapple water. The presentation was beautiful as well, with Mexican themed decorations. I ordered from here in an advance seeing that they had good reviews I was confident in my choice. They are very easy to work with. The food is dropped off super hot and fresh. I ordered tacos with three meats with toppings, rice, beans, popusas, quesadillas, tamales, all the sides and toppings including chips and salsa. And CHURROS. EVERYTHING was so DELICIOUS, the tamales are so moist and full of flavor. We had Chile verde with chicken tamales, so bomb. The portions are big and we had more than enough food. I highly Highly recommended booking them for your party needs. They were also on time and made the delivery as smoothly as possible (covid). We reached out to Mexsal Catering to cater our campground wedding reception dinner in April 2022, and would happily make that same decision again! THey were so responsive to questions and helped use with planning for serving sizes, and with a constantly fluctuating guest count, were more than happy to make changes to our original plan in short notice. On the date of the event, they were on time for both set-up and service and brought their own beautiful decorations that made it seem like they were a part of the decoration planning from the get go. No hesitation in recommending MexSal for your next party. I called at the last minute (one week ahead) and were LUCKY they could accommodate us. I was hosting a birthday party with 40 guests. Mirna and Carlos were: 1. very easy to work with, 2. showed a high standard of cleanliness, 3. acted professionally, and 4. were punctual. And to top it off, the two are just really nice people. We chose their standard taco buffet with in-person service which was very reasonably priced. The taco buffet was a hit because the 3-meat option was nicely seasoned AND having the tortillas (and quesadillas) served warm, hot-off-the-grill took the food to the next level. Their salsas and topping were all delicious as well. The line for tacos was never "too long." Guests got through quickly because this team is experienced, well organized, and just super efficient. One more thing, it rained during our event, but they were still able to do their grill set-up because they brought their own canopy. I've tried many taco vendors but MexSal takes the MVP award of Mexican catering. Wonderful customer service from Carlos and his staff! Immediate response time w/ inquiries, fair pricing, lovely and professional setup, friendly and very important....CLEAN handling and serving of food. MexSal sets up beautifully and quickly. Their setup is just lovely and I appreciate their attention to detail. Ex. Fresh flowers, colorful tablecloth, awning to protect the food from sun, and even multi colored chips. Nice touch! MexSal has a wonderful variety of food which you can order ala carte. We had the taco buffet and the meats were delicious, not salty very tasty, cooked to perfection. They include all the accompaniments and do not charge extra for things like sour cream. Love that even a Mexican drink is included in price. We had the watermelon and it was a hit! Mirna and Carlos catered our wedding in San Francisco last month and it was one of the best decisions we made. The food earned rave reviews from our guests. Most of what we wanted served were vegetarian tacos and while we were a little nervous about what they would taste like without a taste test, we needn't have worried -- the tofu and grilled veggies were super well seasoned and delicious. I recently chose Mexsal for a family birthday party. They were fantastic. They were very prompt and polite answering many questions I had before my event. Their staff showed up on time and did a great job setting up. It was a delivery only, but they were nice enough to loan me a table cloth and chafing dishes. The food was really great! (Watch for the peppers; they are hot!) I would definitely order from them again. The next time I would take my guest count and cut it to about 75% for the order. Definitely 5 Stars! This is the second time we have used Carlos and Marina for a party. Both times has been a fantastic experience. We had them cook on site both times. They are efficient with set-up and bring their own tables to put the food out on. It is decorated so pretty (I was having so much fun, that I forgot to take a picture). My favorite part is that they do all the set-up and prep and supply all the cups, plates, silverware etc. They make throwing a party for a large group of people so easy! Now for the best part - the food. We got great reviews from all our guests both times. We chose the 3 meat taco buffet. Everything was delicious and there is so much food. Mexsal catered the Woodside High School Robotics Team dinner...and did a fantastic job. They showed up on time, their setup was beautiful and very colorful. The food was plentiful and SO good. We did the taco bar + quesadillas which worked for everyone including the vegetarians and diners with food restrictions. The price was amazing, the quality of the food was excellent - they even included lemonade in their price. Feeding a bunch of teenagers (and their parents) can be tricky, but Mexsal did a wonderful job. I liked them so much I've booked them for another event. Highly Recommended! read more

I have hired Raul, Mirna and their gang to cater a Cinco de Mayo 50th birthday celebration and an end of the year baseball party at our home over the past 2 months and could not be more pleased!
