    Chicken tacos with naan
    Annie M.

Such great food! Tried the K-something tacos with both the corn tortilla and the naan. The corn tortilla was the favorite, but the naan was more filling. Either way... the sauce was delicious! Definitely worth the walk to the end of the carts (it's not a long walk).

Good food but overhyped. Maybe if I had been there without seeing their instagram page and other reviews my expectations would have been lower. Food tasted good but I felt it's a little overpriced compared to the surrounding food pods especially in terms of food quality. We got food from 3 different food pods and other 2 tasted better quality wise especially the Mediterranean one where they use olive oil

What a fusion it is. Mexi Khana was well worth the visit and had me wondering why more places aren't trying to make that Mexican/indian connection. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Mexi Khana is also in a super cool food truck village called Brooklyn Carreta that is a great place to visit with friends, family, or anyone looking for a good time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Naan chicken taco over rice, curry sauce, salad.

Wow, fast, friendly service, excellent food. I got the chicken taco platter with naan bread as the taco vessel. The naan was excellent, spices were incredible, such a tasty dish. 3 naan chicken tacos over rice, veggie salad with excellent sauce, it was almost too much food for one person. I will be back here again and again.

This food truck blew me away, no exaggeration. Every single bite was packed with flavor, and honestly, I'm mad I finish it all in one sitting and had no left overs. That's how good it was. Halal tacos are a rare gem in Portland, but these folks made it happen, and they did not miss. We went all in: combo plate, tacos, loaded fries...and not one thing disappointed. Everything was cooked with care, seasoned perfectly, and genuinely addictive. Your actually missing out if you don't try there beef tacos and loaded fries. This place needs to expand to other locations because of how good it is. I also got to meet the owner and he was the kindest and most thoughtful person. He helped us pick out our food and was very patient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not only that, I got to look inside the food cart and it was extremely clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was no mess and I saw with my own eyes how fresh everything was. If you're looking for bold, flavorful halal food that goes above and beyond, this truck is the one. No notes, just go.

Delish! My first experience with Pakistani food of any sort, and this was definitely a nice & easy welcome to the cuisine. I split a quesadilla & taco plate with my dad, and my husband had one of their naan burritos. The meat was delectable and all of the sauces complimented things perfectly. Great portion sizes. Can't wait to come back!

Good service, but the tacos were very small and bland. Would not get again and would not recommend to friends and family.

In anticipation of the food, I felt like helping out with bringing out the dishes and setting the table like grand ma's home. It transports you back to a simpler time and the ambiance adds to a really chill vibe. Food was awesome and to find Kashmiri food anywhere on west coast was my first time in 20 years. This is a part of India with very different cuisine from a quaint place in Himalayas. I'd encourage folks to explore it with an open palette. It's a hidden gem that has to be experienced. And yes, I will not be sharing my kohlrabi with anyone else!

We decided to try the thali, thinking it would give us a chance to sample multiple curries. At $60, we assumed we were getting two individual thalis--one per person. To our surprise, it turned out to be a single plate meant to be shared between two. That was definitely disappointing, especially since we arrived hungry and expected a more substantial meal for that price. For context, most Indian restaurants typically serve a thali per person in the $12-15 range. The food itself was just okay. A couple of the curries were decent, while others didn't quite hit the mark. That said, we still finished everything simply because we were starving. One positive was our host--Deepak, I believe--who was friendly and had a great sense of humor. I genuinely appreciated his service, though I regret not leaving a bigger tip because I left feeling like the value for money just wasn't there. The ambiance was average, nothing special, and parking was a real hassle. Street parking was tough to find.

The caramel taste homemade and while it may not be for everyone it was a bit over cooked giving the otherwise very sweet drink a touch of bitter bite at the end. While I didn't stay, the shop was lovely and unique with its tables and floor seating. If in the neighborhood, this is a great spot to pause for a bit between the many shops around. This is nothing on the shop, but I always warn when places are in those older parts of town, ie no parking lot and very small congested side streets around. If anyone knows which stores carry this item in town, let me know ASAP Food: - The trio of chutney is addicting. The papadums are so crunchy and fun to eat. They're like thin crackers that compliment the chutneys well. The green chutney was especially herbaceous and I liked that - The pork vindaloo was superb. The braised pork fell off the bones effortlessly, and the toasted rolls did a good job of absorbing the curry. I know vindaloo is considered a curry but this dish doesn't taste like a typical curry, it's more like a stew with braised pork in it Ambience: - The outdoor seating is huge, lots of space. The walls are covered with random photos of people and families from the 1970s, signs that one might see in public places in India, a rickshaw meter at the entrance and carrom board tables. The whole place is run by non-Indians so you get a feeling that this is their interpretation of an Indian dhaba. We've ordered the chicken curry thali, the paneer curry, batata vada, pav bhaji, paneer Kati rolls, chicken salad bowl, crispy cauliflower, and the ginger lime soda over the course of our visits. The Thali comes with a dal, roti, rice, raita, salad and a sambar type curry. I have enjoyed the chicken curry way more than the paneer curry. The paneer curry is sweeter and more bland than I'd like. The chicken curry has a bigger flavor profile with a slight spicy kick. The crispy cauliflower was very good but I think this is a special so it may not always be available. The batata vada pav is actually very good but I really would like them to give us the chutney separately so that we decide how much chutney to add. As of now, the vada is smothered with chutneys, which hides the flavors of the vada. Also note that the buns are not like the Indian pav. They are burger buns. The pav bhaji has a tomato soup powder flavor to it, so it looks exactly like a pav bhaji should, but is overwhelmingly tomato flavored. The buns don't give you the same satisfaction that the buttered Indian pav gives. The Kati rolls are filled with more veggies, particularly the purple cabbage, than paneer or chicken. That is not how Kati rolls should be. Purple cabbage is not a thing in Indian food, so this felt like a salad rolls with the wrong veggies. The chicken bowl is actually decent so we liked this. The ginger lime soda is quite nice too. Overall, I would recommend this place for the decor, the vada, the Thali and their specials.
