When I moved to New Jersey I never realized how much I would miss the food!!! El Mexico Lindo *never* disappoints me when I have a craving for some nostalgic flavors. Great tacos, chimichangas, and more. One of my favorite spots in the entire state when looking for Mexican; also one of the only that I'll even bother with at all!! Fresh as can be. I almost cried when they closed and am so happy they are back. Highly recommend the veggie chimichanga it's one of my favorite dishes of all time and I will only get it here! This is where Yelp is most useful. My folks live in NJ and one of their complaints is lack of good Mexican food. I was visiting from Oklahoma and found Mexico Lindo on a search. I had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas, my folks had a shrimp burrito and chicken enchiladas. The food was very good, the service was quick and they have found another restaurant to enjoy. I have had everything on the menu and have not found anything I wasn't in love with. The wait is a little long but well worth it because you know it's been cooked from scratch. Cool little place however minimal seating. You can order individual tacos as opposed to 3 of the same kind, which is nice. The carnitas taco had good flavor and was done right. The chorizo taco tasted like straight hot dog chopped up and the al pastor taco had almost no pineapple. The tortillas are not homemade which is a big drawback in my opinion. Office was looking for lunch Idea and unfortunately we decided on this place. I ordered 2 tacos that comes with rice and beans , coworker ordered flatas specifically stating she did not want rice and beans but nachos. Ok they said, 20 min. The guy taking the order did not take our name and #. 45 min later we called and they said they dropped it somewhere else . Ok, that's fine , these things happen. So they said 20 min. Ok, then we give them our # because they didn't ask. 30 min later it's delivered. Nice delivery guy. Guess what? Wrong order. I got soft tacos, coworker got nachos with sausage . So . We call back, spoke to the owner, he says you want us to come back a third time (with attitude). No, I don't want you to come back. No one in my office will order from this place again. read more

We SO wanted to love this place. The people there were so nice, and it looks like it could have authentic Mexican food. HOWEVER, we ordered the nacho supreme with steak, and carnitas tacos to start. We waited a bit for our food, and wondered why we weren't getting tortillas with some fresh salsa to snack on like most Mexican places. But then assumed because the prices were so reasonable, that we may have to order them ourselves at a cost... But eventually we received a small plate with some chips and a very bland but ok pretty salsa verde. And then our food came out seconds later. The steak nachos...very strange. It seemed like there were just a plate of chips and a tiny bit of meat on top of them. But were told that the guac, beans and the sour cream were on the bottom of the plate beneath the chips. What? Strange. And then there was the cheese - which we believe was cheese whiz. At a Mexican restaurant! No. Please. No. The carnitas were ok. A bit bland. We decided not to order more food, even though we were hungry. We also overhead the table next to us complain about their nachos and a stale hard taco. The owners and workers seemed so nice.
