I was a big fan of Levinsky's back in the day so I figured I'd see what they had. I hadn't been to their new location in Windham and thought it looked pretty small from the outside, but then I opened the door. Dude - this place is HUGE! I was very impressed with how many different style, color, and material options of shirts, pants, outerwear, and accessories they carry - along with a gigantic Maine souvenir section. They have stayed true to their hundred-year heritage of carrying "Levinsky" items - flannel, fleece, and Carhartt - but have also stayed on top of things as far as offering items that are fresh and new, like pattterned everyday scarves and fingerless gloves. I explained to the woman working there that wool socks are too constricting and fleece socks are too slippery for me to just wear around the house. She suggested alpaca socks, helped me look through a large selection of them to find a color and height I liked, let me take the wrapper off and manhandle the socks, and told me if I didn't like them I could return them. Wow - great sock option, great selection, great customer serviice, great return policy, making Levinsky's still a great place to shop. I'll be going back to Levinsky's soon. PS - I LOVE the socks ;)

This Brooks Brothers seemed to have some items that I have not seen before in other locations. I was able to find some good prices on some business clothing and some casual clothing as well. The staff here did a good job at being available and helping out. This store was well run and clean. I had a pleasant shopping experience here and was pleased with the purchases that I was able to make.

I saw a tee shirt that spoke to me. I grabbed it and walked to the register. Now there's a Naval Shipyard here, I have to ask: do you give a military discount? I'm told yes! Sault New England, the designer/owner Phillip Saul offers clothing with a New England in mind. The shirts, sweatshirts and tee shirts are all focused for casual wear. It does carry some t-shirts and trinket type items but most of the inventory is centered around higher quality and practical clothing. The company has been around since 1902 and is perhaps most famous for it's wide selection of warm and quality sweaters. Definitely something people need to survive the winters up here. There are also heaps of shoes and boots, scarves, warm socks, hats, swimwear, sun glasses, watches and of course high quality long underwear. I even saw some life jackets in the store. Definitely a wide variety of different and very useful items. The prices here vary but tend to reflect the higher quality of the merchandise. Jansons isn't a good place to find trinkets and souvenirs but it is a great store to find quality clothing to keep your butt warm during the cold Maine winters.
