Not all Walmarts are the same. In Maine, I think the best Walmart is the one in Scarborough. This…read moreone? Painful. The layout is confusing, the produce is sad looking (also - so specific, I know - but they don't carry many herbs; no dill or mint here, for example; very soggy looking berries), the overhead music is blasting so loud, the shopping carts are enormous and many seem to have one funky wheel, the space is small so the aisles are small and it feels like you're constantly in the shadow of shelves... I don't know, it's hard to explain. I think if you're looking for food/snack/grocery items, go to the Hannaford across the street (or the Shaws a quarter of a mile down the road). I understand the importance of this Walmart, seeing as it's ideally located en route to Sebago and you can stock up on all your camping/staycation essentials. As a local, I'd rather skip coming here entirely (even for using it as a convenient bathroom stop).

She said "it will be in your email" dismissively" which i knew was impossible as i dont have my email registered with them. I told her i didnt get it and she was visibly upset and had her coworker come over to do it! This was on the evening of 3/31/26. I am switching to a different walmart as there are 3 within range of me and my experience at the Windham walmart is usually horrible.

And the job was finished in a timely fashion, just as promised. We had considered replacing the chairs, but for less than half that expense we were able to keep the chairs we've enjoyed for almost fifty years. We highly recommend doing business with The Craft Shop in Windham, ME.

What a fun little discovery on my way into town. I have passed this place a zillion times and had…read moresaid I would stop eventually. Well, stop I did, to see if they had a gift for a friend's birthday. First, I love any store that smells like balsam as you walk through the door. The scent makes me feel like a kid again. I'm not from Maine (have been here long enough to feel at home), but as a kid we used to drive here from Ohio and spend a few weeks going up and down the coast. The smell of balsam reminds me of these trips. Second, I was shocked by the variety they had. Maple syrup, Maine souvenirs, crafting supplies, wooden figurines, and antiques. The have a sign stating that they "glue chairs". I didn't know that was a thing, but apparently, it is... They also sell wreaths and Christmas trees during the appropriate season. And finally, the owners were as nice as could be. They had out hot chocolate for the kids, and they wrapped my little gift up neatly. This little shop is well worth the drive into town because of how darn cute it is!

It's smaller than the other locations I have been to...sq ft and ceiling height. Smaller parking lot. Don't park next to or walk parallel to the building in the winter...there are signs as well. You could absolutely be hit with snow or icicles. Luckily, there were a few spots open. Walking in, it felt like an old grocery store from the 70s/80s. Building definitely hasn't been updated, more just maintained. There were shelves and stacks everywhere...made the store feel very cramped - a lot of stock. Things were organized by category, like, Pets, Grocery, toys, hardware etc. One thing that I was impressed by, was the hardware section, which was to the right and it was in it's own building. There were seasonal offerings, as we visited around Christmas time. I was able to find some fun stocking stuffers. They were decent prices. I found the pet supplies - they definitely favor dogs more than other animals. A lot of the bigger ticket items, seemed to have damage and or no packaging. We only saw staff at the registers, didn't see staff anywhere else in the store. Staff at registers were very fast and efficient.

While this location is small they do pack it in. Loads of good finds for outdoor entertaining/outings (pool floats, coolers, drink cuzies), tons of cleaning supplies, kitchen towels and wares and more. My shopping companion was elated to find so many J. Jill dresses, shirts, and shoes. Seriously she purchased a few shirts and a dress for less than $15 each - total steal. And don't let me forget the candy! So many candies, some I'd never even heard of before. While I didn't find what I was looking for I did have fun digging for treasures.

I had bags with me but they were underneath all of the items I was purchasing I told the clerk that I had bags under the items in my cart at the beginning. After everything was rung up and paid for, he went on to the one other customer in line behind me. Again, I had $75 Wirth of purchases on top of yhe bags. I am truly contemplating returning EVERYTHING and encouraging others not to shop at this store. This guy has absolutely no customer service skills. Evidently, he thinks that his customers are there to do HIS JOB ... and paying for the privilege. I shop there a lot for school projects and events ' -but, based on today's experience. I am not sure that I will in the future. I am tired of companies and their employees who could care less about their cutomers' experience and are just there to grab our money. I am so PISSED!
