A new favorite for me! I found this place on Yelp looking for a good place for breakfast, I found…read moreit. This place is great! The menu has so many different favorites of mine so I picked the #1 breakfast. It's a good mix of breakfast staples, eggs, meat, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes. Everything was served piping hot and was delicious! I had not expected such a great meal and delicious food on my first try in a new city and restaurant. I can't wait to go back in the morning for breakfast again. Everything was delicious but the biscuits and gravy deserve special mention. The biscuits are the best I have ever eaten, light, fluffy, crispy edges. I don't know what their secret is but these are the best biscuits I've ever had. The gravy is also awesome with chunks of sausage and a perfect blend of spices blended together with a smooth texture. Just thinking about the biscuits and gravy makes my mouth water and my stomach growl with hunger. The servers are so sweet and tentative. Our drinks were always full. Everything we would normally have to ask for at other restaurants was brought out with the food, I'm talking about things like ketchup, syrup, butter, creamer, extra napkins. After ordering the food was served quick and it was fresh and hot. It wasn't sitting around waiting to be served. When the meal was over and the plates were taken away our drinks were topped off and we were able converse with each other while our check was being processed by our server. Our server was a wonderful lady who was friendly and helpful and always carried a great smile. The dining experience was very relaxed. This is one of those places where the locals meet and enjoy great food and conversation together. It's the kind of place that you feel comfortable being at. You feel like you're one of the locals too. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, everyone says hello with a genuine smile. This is one of those places that you wish you had at home. I'm already planning my next visit to Ashland City and Mama D's is on the top of my list.

We had no refills on coffee, unless we went and got it ourselves, and never had a refill on water until we asked three different staff members. The staff is fast, friendly and always helpful. During the lunch push or "Happy Hour" it can get a bit loud, so if you want to chat I suggest either grabbing a table in the back room or if it's a nice day, out on the patio. We have tried most of the food on the regular menu, I can honestly say there was nothing I did not enjoy & the happy hour specials are a big plus.

Quick Tip: After you fill up with the solids, swing around to the Black Dog for whatever liquid that makes you happy. They have a great selection of beverages to take home. You may even get to see the namesake, and give a pat on the butt. The dog, not the proprietor.

We had only been in…read morethe area for a full 24hrs, our property is totally in a state of primordial development at best, thus we had no power, utilities, etc. It was lat Saturday night, and since we come from a different world where things are opened on the weekend we thought it would be the same here in small town TN... NOPE! Only the fast food places are opened... then we saw this funny little place called Gyro City flashing an enthusiastic OPEN sign! We were tremendously excited since we LOVE small family businesses. So we went in to try them out. Their offerings were very interesting. Never seen a BBQ gyro or a Philly Cheesesteak gyro, but I'm totally down for new and interesting. We also ordered the dolma (grape leaves as he called them) and two drinks... We are not used to humidity (being former desert dwellers) so this oppressive atmosphere is stifling. This place offers real lemonade, mango juice, and strawberry juice, AMAZING CURES for terribly hot sticky days! The food was delicious! I'm a real fan of both Philly and BBQ gyros, especially when you combine them with a gyro topping selection akin style to your typical sandwich restaurant (pick toppings for him to put on your gyro) which are very tasty. The rice was good, the pita bread was good, and the drinks were the best! The owner told me they have only been open 7 months, and I hope he can stick with it and stay open for MANY more to come. I'll be happy to wander in late nights on the weekend when I'm not looking for a #1 or something from your local *fast food chain*.

My mother in law had wanted to sit inside at a booth but for some reason they said they weren't seating that area. Maybe they didn't have a server for that section, but idk. I was happy to be outside tho. It was a really nice day so i was glad to be able to enjoy it. You do have to deal with the occasional revving of engines while people show off as they head to Walmart but nothing anyone can do about that. I ordered the French dip and sweet potato fries. My mother in law got fried shrimp with green beans and coleslaw. The French dip did not come with au jus. I didn't pay attention to the menu so idk if it just doesn't come with it or they forgot it. The server didn't come back until we were almost done so I didn't see a point in asking about it by then. The sandwich was very good, the au jus would have made it exceptional. The sweet potato fries were very good too. I usually try to stay away from fried foods and it was hard for me to stop eating these. My mother in law commented that the green beans were delicious and didn't seem to be from a can. She liked the shrimp too. Unfortunately her cocktail sauce was frozen solid. She was able to get some hot sauce tho so she made due with that. Aside from a few hiccups this place was good and I'd definitely try food from here again. Service was ok. I wish our server would have checked on us a little after we got our food so we could have asked about the au jus and cocktail sauce. It wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure why the service was so meh.

(We live about 2 hours south) They were so welcoming and friendly. The food was outstanding. The fried bread was amazing. All of our pastas was some of the best we have had. At least not with the baked ziti that I ordered. Somewhere between Chef Boyardee Beeforoni, and Heinz ketchup is what it reminded me of. Palatable, but not inspiring. A robust sauce would have enhanced the flavor immensely. The staff is refreshing, and very friendly. They interact well. We enjoyed our time with the couple that took us out, and were appreciative for them picking up the tab. I hope that I'm not offending them by this ho-hum review. But sometimes you've got to tell it like it is. Our paper table cloth came complete with a purple crayon for entertaining ourselves while waiting for our entrees. I made good use of it. Had the crayon been orange, I may have been induced to add an additional star. But as was the dinner, I was underwhelmed. In this town there's not much of a choice to eat Italiano. So for what it is, if you have to have pasta, I mean really have to have pasta, I guess you'll be ok. You won't be leaving saying MaMa Mia, but more like mama see ya! Quick Tip: For some reason, on the night I visited, they didn't have an Italian mainstay, ravioli. No ravioli? That's like the Pope without the Vatican. Or for you non-Christians, like Jenifer Aniston wearing a bra! God forbid!!

My friend had the tacos were fresh, topped with crisp slaw and a good hit of cheese, and the sauce on the side added a nice kick. The nacho plate was piled high with tender pulled brisket melty cheese, and plenty of toppings to share. The only complaint I have is that the potatoes was bland when it was boiled. You can tell that the bbq and brisket was the only thing that flavors it. It was disappointing. Portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. The sides were solid as well. The jalapeno cream corn had a creamy, slightly creamy and sweet that paired well with everything. The potato salad was a classic creamy version, which helped balance out the spice from the wings. Service was so slow the server was running both bartenders and server. Even though it was busy, food came out hot and. On Fridays they have live music, which adds a fun vibe, though just know it can get a little loud if you're trying to have a long conversation. Avoid Friday if you just want to grab something to eat. Overall, a great casual spot to hang out with friends, enjoy good food, and take in some live tunes. I'd definitely come back to try more from the menu!
