Unfortunately, the post-project payment process left a very bad impression. After the job was completed, I was told that final payment was required within 24 hours because of a clause on the completion form I signed at the end of the project. This requirement was never clearly communicated beforehand when we agreed to move forward with the work. In my experience, most contractors invoice with reasonable payment terms (for example a few days or a week), so being told after the work was finished that payment had to be made within 24 hours felt unexpected and unnecessarily confrontational. What was disappointing wasn't the payment itself -- I fully intended to pay -- but the tone and approach in the follow-up messages. It made the interaction feel more focused on collecting money immediately than maintaining a positive customer relationship. Again, the workmanship was good, but the way the payment issue was handled unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise solid experience.

We wanted to update our kitchen to be more modern and decided to 1) replace new countertops, 2) paint cabinets white, 3) install new backsplash and 4) paint interior. I didn't want to spent a lot of money and get brand new cabinets since mine are fairly new. Austin Painting and Cabinet specializes in painting your existing cabinets to look new. They did a really good job and far exceeded my expectation. The areas they excelled included * Price - The price was very reasonable for the quality of work you're getting. I compared countertop pricing with JL Cabinets. JL initial quote was 2K cheaper but that's just an estimated price before you select your countertop. After we decided on the countertop, JL ended up being 2K more expensive. Tylers price was similar even after selecting countertop, meaning Tyler initial estimate is based on higher quality countertop whereas JL low ball. * Quality - My cabinets had knotty holes to make it looks rustic. Tylers team had to fill all the holes and sand to smooth all the cabinet prior to painting. I was scared that painting would look cheap. However, these guys specialize in cabinet painting. Their work is high quality. The end result was much better than expected. The cabinet finish was as smooth as butter. There are definitely cheaper options out there but you pay for what you get. Anyone can paint, but what Austin Painting and Cabinet excel in is spending lots of time prepping to ensure the paint looks high end. In addition to cabinet work, we had the living area painted. They covered and taped up every inch of the house to ensure paint didn't spread anywhere. The attention to detail is unmatched which shows in their final work product. * Communication - Tyler responded to all text and kept me up to date on the project. He was on time, every time, as well as his crew. I'm very happy with result and recommend Austin Cabinet and Painting to anyone who wants to update their Kitchen.

Office is unprofessional (empty fast food junk laying around, children's toys all around- trip hazard, etc). When told to draw the cut of the quartz I wanted, it was ignored, and they chose the cut and did not inform me. When they didn't show up, did not receive a call. I had to call to see if they were coming. (That happened 3 times). If I would have worked with Nikki, rather than Michelle, I believe things would have gone smoother. I did like the end result but was exhausted after the entire process.

The installer damage a cabinet because they did not remove all the screws from the countertop before removing it. They could not get a replacement cabinet so the installer had a 'friend' try to repair the cabinet which was unsuccessful. Other problems include poor application of caulking, spaces between the granite, and complete disrespect to my wife. And all this after I prevented their equipment from being stolen - they left all their hand and power tools on the curb where someone was loading them into their own truck until I notified the installers. Waste of time and money business.

I used the website Countertop smart.com, so I was able to insert measurements, get an estimate, and choose an installer easily. Perfect Countertops had good reviews, a good price for installation and a two-week installation date which fit my schedule. Though I am very happy with the finished project, I was frustrated with communication with Elier and delays. The countertops were demo'd on one day, countertops installed the next day and the matching backsplash was installed 7 days later - which delayed installation of the cooktop and faucet. (And increased my anxiety as I had a dinner party scheduled the next day! I never heard the reason for the weeklong delay.) The installation was complete 5 weeks after measurements, not the 2 weeks planned when I scheduled it. So as with all construction projects, allow plenty of time for completion. I would recommend Perfect Countertops if your schedule is flexible.

I asked if he could quote me on a few other colors I had found online that were also Level 1. After a week of not hearing anything I called one of his vendors that has every color in stock. I texted Elier and let him know but I have been ignored. I owned a glass company in Austin for over 15 years and I am proud to say I NEVER mistreated a potential customer. If I told you I would call you back in 2 days, I called you back in 2 days if not sooner. What happened to good CUSTOMER SERVICE? I would not recommend this company if you want someone that will work with you and give you options.

Recently I noticed a few small areas on the garage thresholds where the coating had pulled loose from the extreme heat and garage door sticking to the concrete. Since when was the issue of the quality of your service pertaining to the before and after? Rhetorical question - it's not. If you read what I wrote and of others who are reading care to look at the picture I posted of what you said you were going to do VS what you actually did, anyone could plainly see that you were absolutely not even in the same realm of finished product... which you lead me to believe is what you'd do, for 5k... Now, considering the job was so poorly done with not even the slightest consideration given to doing a patch and asking me if that's what I wanted since it was so different, I can only infer that your company is too busy trying to rush a job and get paid rather than apply critical thinking. Don't try to cloud the issue by showing the poorly done stain that another company did before I hired you... Yes, believe it or not (anyone who's reading) this happened before this particular company came in and ruined my floor. I asked for a certain style, the contractor said they could do it, and it came out horribly done and not even close to what was agreed upon as the finished product I was paying for. How could this happen to me twice in a row? Very bad luck in choosing a floor specialist apparently. You can show whatever before and after you want, but the important one is what YOUR company gave me as the example work, and then the completely different floor you did, and on top of it all you had the nerve to charge me saying you could fix it and didn't, and now you have the nerve to try and defend yourself by moving the goal posts by posting a picture that's unrelated to my issue. I'm not a litigious person but I'm telling you now I've got a mind to go to small claims with this, the more I think about it. Literally 100% of people polled when showed what you advertised VS what you did have said the same thing, which was "What the ****"
