Good Faith Energy - Tesla Solar Roof

I don't normally write reviews, and Good Faith Energy did not ask me to write this review, but I've…read morehad such good experiences with this company that I had to express my praise for Good Faith Energy. I first contacted Good Faith Energy to help with solar planning for an all-electric house build I was building in Dallas, TX. While the house was still in the pre-drywall phase, I wanted to make sure that anything that could be added in the construction phase to help with solar installation later was done. Good Faith Energy helped me out, and for a nominal fee, they designed an electrical plan and coordinated with the builder on what components would make installation easier in the future. My original plan was to build the house and live in the house for a year to figure out my electricity needs, and then design a solar system around my usage. However, after moving in in early 2025, I decided to proceed with solar installation given my fear that the solar tax credit would be going away soon. I explored several solar companies, but ultimately picked Good Faith Energy. They were familiar with the products I was interested in (REC solar panels, SPAN panels, and Tesla Powerwall 3). They are very involved with the community and post very insightful videos on YouTube. You can tell that their owner and all of the employees are passionate about what they sell and install, and truly care about selecting the right solar system for you. My sales associate with Sammy, who was happy to provide different quotes, and he offered me very good suggestions about things I hadn't thought of. Joe was the engineer that worked on the plans, and he was also incredibly helpful and patient with me. He understood my desire to maximize the number of panels on my roof space, and tried out different ways with the design to maximize solar production. Samantha and Amanda were excellent project managers, who kept me informed throughout the entire project. My install was a bit more complicated than a typical residential system. My house is all-electric, and I have a 320 amp service powering two 200 amp panels. As a result, I ultimately went with a 28.5 kW REC solar panel system powering two separate sets of Tesla Powerwall 3 (5 total). Special shoutout to our electrician Ronnie and the site manager Shane, along with the rest of the Good Faith Energy install team, who battled some of the hottest days this summer to install the project on time. Their attention to detail was impressive, and the result is a very clean install. I live in a conservation district in Dallas, and as a result, I needed approval from the conservation district as well as from the City of Dallas. It took several months to get a permit, but Good Faith Energy had experience with this and knew how to handle it. There was one minor rough patch. We scheduled a city inspection two weeks ahead of schedule, but Good Faith Energy wasn't there where the city inspector came, which generated an immediate red-tag. However, this was ironed out by the next week, and we received a green tag after just one inspection the following week. Since the install, I've had a couple minor issues with the system, but Good Faith Energy was quick to respond and resolve the issues. I have been left with a feeling that this company stands behind their project. In the end, for such a complex and expensive project, I have had an extremely positive experience working with Good Faith Energy, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a solar install in DFW.

Getting a full PV system that meets all of the household electrical needs is a big project and I had quotes done by 2 other companies prior to settling on Solartime for my project. They were the most communicative and allowed the most flexibility as well as experience when discussing the ins and outs of brands, solar limitations, and my electric needs. I interfaced heavily with Jason on the front end and he was able to field all of my tedious questions right up until we scheduled the install. Once we got all the paperwork, permitting, financing, and equipment selection out of the way installation was quite speedy and I was informed and involved each step along the way. Gregory was the team lead for the onsite installation and has a real passion for solar and a wealth of knowledge to field any questions. He did a very professional job and while install took the better part of one day and a portion of another he was patient with any questions or issues which came up along the way. I highly recommend solartime, as even in the event they may not be your final selection they are all well versed in the inter-workings on the industry and if nothing else you will gain a more clear understanding of how your system should work and how much it should cost you.

Solar as an industry needs to mature. Too much profit chasing and not enough service for the cost…read more I wanted to believe that Longhorn Solar was different but kept running into problems. Planning and communication needs work. I never knew when the work was to be done until the night before. The wrong parts or lack of parts on the first install date was a bad sign. Then the second install date and still not able to operate on solar until 2 weeks later - yet they want their payment right away. The worst was when I lost power to the house after the transfer box was installed. This was on a Friday afternoon. I called to ask for help but had to send an email for support. Support said it wasn't their issue, but it was, a bad breaker. I had to find and pay for my own electrician to fix it. I was reimbursed but that didn't excuse the lack of support. The 24-hour support team finally responded back to me 5 days later after I sent the video of the bad breaker arcing. I could go on but I think you get the idea. There are some good people there but as a company, it's just not the quality and service expected for the price paid. Value is directly related to the price vs quality mentioned.

I finally had my solar panels removed and roof replaced due to hail damage. This was a commercial roofer that has experience with flat roof. DO NOT SIGN WITH RISE POWER!!!…read more Initially I went through issues with even becoming a customer. I asked a lot of questions and it felt like the sales rep harassed me for the next 2 months to get solar which was something I wanted to do but had other projects to complete like my roof and A/C. Initially my roof was fine enough to get the panels but that roof had some years on it and with all the storms, damage was inevitable. It was one of the topics the sales rep and I talked about. The sales rep assured me they can remove them at no cost - mind you I asked several times for clarification! I still held off. Finally 3 months in they sent a regional manager and I followed through with installing and still had a lot of hesitation. I gave a good review too but it wasn't long before I realized that review would come back to haunt me. Now that I'm having my roof finally repaired (15 months after solar install because I also got my AC unit replaced first ) - I'm told it will cost me $6k to remove the panels. I'm out of pocket with the roof and now I'm told since insurance isn't covering it I'll have to pay that amount to remove the panels to get my roof repaired. The roofers won't touch my roof without them being taken off and now I'm in a situation and about to ruin my credit because I will have to default on the loan because I won't be paying for panels I can't use because I can't afford to put them back on! Of course Rise Power doesn't care they got their money! These solar panels aren't that great and with insurance companies denying claims that means any time you have a roofing issue you have to pay for the removal of the panels and the roof! This is something that Rise Power really needed to be transparent about because that would have sealed the deal for me that panels were not for me at this time. I'm sooo disappointed and frustrated.
