Connie seems to be the inconsistency to this location. Why is it that I get a high amount for items from every other employee both here at Grove and other locations but when I deal with Connie, who is apparently the store manager, she tries to low ball me EVERY TIME! She even does this trick where she tells you she found it cheaper on Walmart and fake scans the monitor, like, it's her go to move to low ball you. THEN! She'll say something to the effect of...oh, you needed more? Let me see what I can do for you since this is all this company will allow, but give me a sec and let me see what I can do... This allows her to not assume responsibility for the low ball offer but still look like she did something for you when in actuality, she did nothing These little games get played out year after year. I should be able to walk in not dreading having to pawn something, and it shouldn't have to be a mind game to even get HALF of what I normally would get offered by anyone else! She's seriously exhausting to deal with. These pawn shops are all owned by a major company now (EZCorp) with that being said, if I go into one Walmart, I would expect that if I go to a completely different Walmart the prices stay the same, consistent, if you will. Walmart prices don't fluctuate based on the individual who's assisting you, location or who the manager is at the time. The same should go for these pawn shops, Connie has been a staple at this location for many decades. And I guess that grants her some sort of immunity to run the grove location how ever she pleases. After all, the one thing I keep hearing as her excuse for being inconsistent is...Well. That's just Connie... Imagine. Being able to do whatever you please, simply because...that's how they are? like what kinda Stuff is that?!! Like, seriously? I reached out to the District Manager to no avail. It's been a week so Google review it is. Next will be the better business bureau! After I take out my last items out of pawn I will no longer do any Business with EZCORP/Metropawn again. It's a pawn shop and close to home. I had a few small pieces of jewelry I was no longer wearing so I thought I would check out selling them here. Nice friendly staff, fast efficient service. He went thru each item explaining why they don't purchase certain pieces. I eventually did sell a couple of pieces for just $15 dollars. There are several locations around town to this chain. Check each one out since there are probably different items for sale at each. This location has plenty of power tools, DVD and CDs for sale. A small selection of cameras and bicycles were also available. Worth a stop just to see what there. read more

Super clean store. Very nice things on their shelves. Fantastic customer service, especially from the manager James. I got to come in and look at their selection of guitars because I'm a musician. It was fun to joke around and pick his brain about musical instruments and be able to test out what they had out on the sales floor. Possibly entertaining the staff and the customers with my playing I must say it's hands down the most positive environment I've been in as far as pawn shops, most places wanna take your money and send ya out the door. Took my diamond ring there to sell, not wanting to use CL. We have had the ring appraised at over $6K at a local jewelry store, and brought it to Metropawn. We watched as they tested the diamonds, and the light changed the appropriate color signifying diamond. After the clerk conferred with another associate, he told us that the stones were Moissanite, and not diamond! He also gave us a low value on the value of scrap melt for the platinum. We took the ring to a different store, they confirmed the value of the diamonds, cleaned the ring properly, and gave us a more accurate measure of the value of the platinum. NEVER take your jewelry to Metropawn. They outright lied about the diamonds being Moissanite - which is a synthetic stone, when we knew they were diamonds! read more

Really friendly employees, the lady who was working the jewelry side register helped us see several interesting things. We purchased two DVD's, very reasonably priced- and had a good first experience in the shop. Definitely stop by if you enjoy pawn shops! They had a lot of DVD's, some jewelry, musical instruments, tools, TVs, bikes.... they didn't have very many coins, I think she said they had 3? in the jewelry case... read more

They have a great selection of items! Something for everyone. While my son was looking at the tools, video games, electronics and watches my daughter was looking at the DVDs and jewelry. The layout was great and spacious, I didn't feel cramped while browsing. The employees were extremely helpful and friendly. They even had some comfy chairs for me to get off my feet for a minute! This is my new "go to" before paying full retail for anything now! They said they are always getting in new items too! This place is a gem! read more
