Hot food and ready-to-go food options include manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with cheese, za'atar, and various other toppings, akin to Middle Eastern version of pizza), rice, falafels, dolmas (stuffed grape vine leaves), BBQ items, salads (tabouleh, Greek salad with feta, etc.). They have a large in-house bakery that sells homemade Middle Eastern desserts such as baklava (so many different varieties of it) and mouhalabieh (Middle Eastern milk pudding). Other stand-outs: in-house factory of Lebanese flatbreads (made fresh every minute!), big selection of dates, huge counter of nuts behind glass (with staff serving big scoops of bulk nuts for you), Adonis-branded products (beans, hummus, baba ghanouj, etc.).

For instance one of the Jamaican patti on sale is never there, they have one brand, but only mild taste, no spicy. The veggies and fruits section is not too bad. I rarely see the $10 frozen bag meats as compared to other No Frills store. I guess will just have to buy fresh meats. Snacks section is frequently stocked, I can always get the chips flavour that I want. As for the No name frozen veggies, I can never see the diced frozen veggies, usually I only see California mix or the beans mix which I don't like, but I guess for a small store they need to limit the stocks. I usually go at the last hour of it closing, check out is often pretty quick.

Sunday July 13th 2025: I had gone in and did my weekly…read moregrocery shopping as I usually do, upon checkout I had said I would like to pay with two cards, half on each, $90 gets charged to my wife's debit card and as I have my debit card in had the cashier had charged my rewards points that I've been saving for the last year. I told the cashier that I didn't want to use my points, he was very apologetic, called who I believe was the on shift manager, she was very nice and apologized for the mix up, had asked to take a picture of my receipt, Came back a minute later and said she couldn't fix the points herself but the lead manager could Monday the 14th. I come in Monday the 14th 2025 around 1:20pm, I speak with an employee to see if I could get the manager, She said she was the manager and said she couldn't do it, I was assured that it could be fixed by the head manager and she refused and said she couldn't. So I do not really recommend that this location is shopped at. TLDR: Cashier misunderstood me and I lost almost half my rewards points that I was saving up. Management refused to help me. 1/10 for the manager 4/10 for the cashiers, he made an honest mistake but the shift working on Sunday and him both assured me that it could be fixed.

Please note that currently the mall entrance for this store is closed. You must enter / exit from the outside doors. They are doing a good job observing sanitation practices (for COVID19). Lots of dispensers around and carts sanitized between uses. This Metro has a flower shop, deli, bakery, meat and hot food counter. One of my fave things from here is the Carrot Cake that they sell at their bakery counter (it's excellent). We also do enjoy many other things and find that their selection is very good for just about anything you would want. Metro has a brand of products called Irresistibles. We have tried a variety of appetizers, ice cream bars which we recommend - in particular the Asian selection appetizers, cheesecake, and mocha almond bars. They have attendant checkouts and self serve. Worth checking out!

I went in there today the 20th of April 2025, to buy codfish and the cod fish needed to be cut up and weighe! and they all refused to serve me, one of the men told me to go where the fish guys are , then the fish guys sent me back to the meat section, I walked back over there just so the guys in the meat section ignored my questions on what should I do , I had to put everything down and leave the store!! this is not the first time I've ran into discrimination as a black man in this store lone tai supermarket! and I will report this store to th the news and make sure the word gets out about yall services!!!

The whole chickens and pork chops are so tender and juicy on the bbq. Sausages are huge, flavourful and not stuffed with fillers. The souvlaki's delicious so make sure to grab some of the tzatziki that they make. We've been looking for an alternative to the grocery stores' questionable quality and ever increasing prices. O'Connor's Meat Market more than comes through. Prices are higher everywhere but the quality makes it a much better value.

Last Wednesday, I headed to Harvey's to grab some dinner. I also needed to do some grocery…read moreshopping. I remembered Hong Tai Supermarket in the same plaza as Harvey's. Perfect! Groceries. Grub. Go! I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the grocery store's main entrance. I backed into a spot that faced Harvey's drive-thru entrance and walked in. There is a sign near the front door that says to not take photos. Oops! Well, I did and no one really cared. Many stores are gearing up for Lunar New Year. I was greeted by everything from candy to nuts. There were plenty of decorations for the occasion if you need some. It wasn't me crazy busy at around 6: 30 pm, but there was steady business. The aisles are nice and wide in the produce section, which I appreciated. Many folks with carts could park them off to the side and not stop the flow of shoppers walking around. I needed celery and avocados. I found them rather quickly. Celery was $5, which is clearly insane, but it is the new price norm. Each celery stalk (the whole bunch and not the rib, which is the singular piece) was packed in cellophane. You have the option of getting avocados in a bag or individually. I used to do the former, but could never consume my avocados as quickly as I would like. I do the latter these days and grabbed a couple, which works out better. The fruits and veggies looked fresh and healthy. I was happy. The bakery section is rather small. It's in a little corner close to the produce. I loved looking at the almond cookies and Swiss rolls. Yum! I browsed around, as I had got everything that I needed produce-wise. I wandered into the snack section and it took a while to leave. My favourite garlic chicharron was available, so I snagged a bag. I also got a bag of mushroom Frito Lay's chips. I love anything mushroom and the flavour was on point. If you dislike the texture of mushrooms, you can eliminate it by getting a bag. Of course, if you dislike anything mushroom, you may want to grab a different flavour. I became nostalgic looking at all the Vita varieties. I drank many Vita juice boxes as a kid. Guava, blackcurrant, and lemon were my favourites. I still love those flavours in practically everything that I consume these days. This place also has my favourite coated peanuts. It was tempting to get my go-to flavour, the coconut cream. The chicken and tom yum flavours caught my attention. I should try them next time I'm here. The tea section is excellent. I loved the varieties available. I could live in this section alone. I went to the cashout area to pay. There were many cashiers available. This store only accepts cash and debit cards only. You are out of luck using credit cards here. The woman who cashed me out was efficient and to the point. She asked if I needed a bag. I declined. I could carry them all to my car and save a plastic bag. I tapped with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and headed to my car. I had to walk by a man who was smoking between his car and mine. I quickly placed my groceries and me in my car, closed the door to escape dying from second-hand smoke, and hit Wendy's to get dinner. I loved shopping here. It was great changing up my grocery shopping and dinner scene. I'll be back. (14)
