I dropped by this Metro on a Sunday morning, just after 10 am. It was Daylight Saving (there isn't an S at the end and I will hunt you down if you add one... huge pet peeve of mine) Time. I got up way too early instead of sleeping in till noon. Anyway, I needed some raw honey. I chose to go to a grocery store that I rarely frequent. This Metro is open 24 hours every day and is likely the second closest one to my home. My visit was well before the toilet paper shopping panic had started. I had no problem finding a parking spot that was steps from the main entrance. There is plenty of parking, especially for a crazy person like me up at this hour. I find that going into a grocery store comforts me, no matter where I am on this planet. This place was no exception. I walked in, and loved seeing the sandwiches and drinks that you can grab and go. I spent a ton of time in the cheese and deli meat section. Yum! I managed to find the honey section. There was a decent selection of raw honey. I went with the Irresistibles line. I didn't need fancy and I trust this brand. I ended up in the snack section. I know that's not all that shocking. I was drawn by the Snack Pack juicy gels. They were on sale and did not have any sugar in them. I bought some to try out. This store is cheerful and large. I enjoyed leisurely shopping and browsing on a Sunday morning, which was so out of my element. I went to the checkout. There was a lineup at the lone human checkout. I did something that I rarely do. I went to the self-checkout instead. I prefer that a person cash me out in general. I was obviously out of my mind. The number of times that I have used a self-checkout in my life is now at three. Once in London, UK. Once in Dallas, TX. I can safely add Scarborough, ON. It was pretty straightforward. The prompts are clear, both on the screen and through a woman's voice blasting out of the system. I scanned all my items. I scanned my Air Miles card next. I then paid with a debit card. Done! My only concern is that it's the honour system when it comes to paying for plastic bags. At this self-checkout, you could technically say that you don't need a bag and take them all home. Who would do any check there? Such a random thought! Anyway, the raw honey was exactly what I needed. The Snack Pack juicy gels were yummy. I had food poisoning a few days before this visit and my appetite was nonexistent. These gels helped get my appetite back, which made me happy. I'd come back here again. I hope to not return on a Sunday morning, though, and sleep in instead. (122)

24/7 It is now hard to find another grocery store that opens that kind of hours! Great to pick up something anytime. I like to come here for late night shopping. They selling beers till 11 pm. Selection is ok but when you need to pick up some beers while getting your chips? Hope they won't change their opening hours moving forward!

This location is conveniently located in the Kennedy Commons Plaza, right off the Highway. Metro has always been known to have good selection of premium brands that are typically considered healthy. So its a good option to check out if you don't have a Whole Foods near you. If you have allergies or food restrictions, it's a good option for gluten free brands, dairy free brands and vegan options. The deli meat selection and meat alternative frozen sections also good. Their Irresistible house brand is actually pretty great for sauces. I love their Marinara & Vodka Pasta Sauces as well as their Pizza Dipping Sauces they keep near the pizza dough and ready made hot counter. Overall its a great place to checkout if you're in a pinch, or looking for a premium item.

This Kennedy Commons plaza location of Metro is huge with lots of parking. I'm here browsing this store for the first time. It's beautiful and spacious! There's a very large beer and wine department too with a notable product selection. Even the Floral department got my attention. I will return and spend time to shop.

Never thought a grocery chain store would make good pizza. Noticed the pizzeria, grabbed an XL cheese pizza. Even with a 15 minute commute home the pizza was still hot and fresh. Good amount of cheese. Sweet well spread tomato sauce. Soft well baked chewy crust. It was just good, reminded me of local New York City slices. Overall was surprised that the pizza was that good. With the noticeable amount of people waiting in line for their orders, its self explanatory. Toppings are available, believe this location has an XL pizza special on Wednesdays. Would recommend a try and I would go again.

Love this location it's just off the 401, in a good location. Always clean, staff always wear face masks, offer hand sanitizer, there's always an employee sanitizing the carts and baskets.

If you are looking for groceries across the globe then this place will check most of your boxes. There's meat butcher station to select fresh meats by the pound. There's a fresh seafood stand to select live and fresh seafood. One thing I notice here is that the air ventilation here is good. You don't smell seafood all over the store. I really like the frozen food section as you can find many different seafood, dimsum, Filipino hot dogs and sausages, korean dumplings, and the list goes on. If you're not a chef you can definitely find some delicious ready to cook food here. Overall, this is a welcome addition to the mall if you are looking for reasonable prices and fresh seafood, meat and produce.

Grub. Go! I had no problem finding a parking spot steps away from the grocery store's main entrance. I backed into a spot that faced Harvey's drive-thru entrance and walked in. There is a sign near the front door that says to not take photos. Oops! Well, I did and no one really cared. Many stores are gearing up for Lunar New Year. I was greeted by everything from candy to nuts. There were plenty of decorations for the occasion if you need some. It wasn't me crazy busy at around 6: 30 pm, but there was steady business. The aisles are nice and wide in the produce section, which I appreciated. Many folks with carts could park them off to the side and not stop the flow of shoppers walking around. I needed celery and avocados. I found them rather quickly. Celery was $5, which is clearly insane, but it is the new price norm. Each celery stalk (the whole bunch and not the rib, which is the singular piece) was packed in cellophane. You have the option of getting avocados in a bag or individually. I used to do the former, but could never consume my avocados as quickly as I would like. I do the latter these days and grabbed a couple, which works out better. The fruits and veggies looked fresh and healthy. I was happy. The bakery section is rather small. It's in a little corner close to the produce. I loved looking at the almond cookies and Swiss rolls. Yum! I browsed around, as I had got everything that I needed produce-wise. I wandered into the snack section and it took a while to leave. My favourite garlic chicharron was available, so I snagged a bag. I also got a bag of mushroom Frito Lay's chips. I love anything mushroom and the flavour was on point. If you dislike the texture of mushrooms, you can eliminate it by getting a bag. Of course, if you dislike anything mushroom, you may want to grab a different flavour. I became nostalgic looking at all the Vita varieties. I drank many Vita juice boxes as a kid. Guava, blackcurrant, and lemon were my favourites. I still love those flavours in practically everything that I consume these days. This place also has my favourite coated peanuts. It was tempting to get my go-to flavour, the coconut cream. The chicken and tom yum flavours caught my attention. I should try them next time I'm here. The tea section is excellent. I loved the varieties available. I could live in this section alone. I went to the cashout area to pay. There were many cashiers available. This store only accepts cash and debit cards only. You are out of luck using credit cards here. The woman who cashed me out was efficient and to the point. She asked if I needed a bag. I declined. I could carry them all to my car and save a plastic bag. I tapped with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and headed to my car. I had to walk by a man who was smoking between his car and mine. I quickly placed my groceries and me in my car, closed the door to escape dying from second-hand smoke, and hit Wendy's to get dinner. I loved shopping here. It was great changing up my grocery shopping and dinner scene. I'll be back. (14)

Since they didn't work in that department they pointed me to the wall of refrigerated meat. Luckily, an employee working in the department was able to take me directly to the freezer that had what I was looking for. Some more meandering up and down aisles and I found most of what I was looking for. I did notice a man on his phone standing in front of the cake display. I needed to pick up a few grocery items, so dropping by Food World Supermarket afterwards was perfect. This building used to Rose Garden Banquet and Convention. I'm guessing that due to the pandemic, this business suffered and shut down. There is plenty of parking in front and around this supermarket. I backed into a spot and walked in. The doors automatically open, which is wonderful. This supermarket is located across from Burger King. I often frequent it when I crave a flame-broiled burger. Both are in the same plaza as Wok of Asia. It's clean and cheerful when you first walk in. You see cases of pop and sparking water. The produce section then greets you. I needed avocados and celery. Prices are either comparable to what you see at grocery stores like No Frills, but the quality is better. Both produce items that I grabbed were fresh and in great condition. This grocery store carries halal items. It features a lot of South Asian products, such as Parle-G and paratha. You also see ramen and Ribena, both of which made me love shopping at this store even more. I saw everything from custard to paneer. It does sell corned beef in cans and rose water in glass bottles. Cool! The meat section is impressive. It's huge with every cut of meat that you can possibly think of. You can get food to go. There's a stall within the supermarket where you can get pizza, shawarma, and more. I paid for my produce. The woman at the checkout was extremely pleasant and nice. I paid with my debit card. This store gives you a plastic bag. I thanked her and headed to the exit. Just before you exit, there's a stall that sells desserts, ice cream, drinks, and more. I asked the woman behind the counter whether their drinks have added sugar. They don't. The store goes with the natural sweetness of their fruit or veggies. I wanted to get the sugar cane and coconut hydrating beverage. She had run out of coconut, so I got a large sugar cane drink. As she made my drink, I looked at the desserts display. There were individual portions of chocolate mousse cake and sponge cakes. You can also get milkshakes, ice cream, and more. She asked whether I wanted ice in my sugar cane drink. I said as much as the cup could fit the ice. It was perfect on a hot day. I asked the nice woman how long this supermarket has been open for. It opened on May 18th. I paid with my debit card. Done! I thanked the woman and left with my groceries and drink. The sugarcane was indeed the real deal. It was naturally sweet and yummy. I was happy with my drink. It was nice consuming it as I drove home. Whenever I was in the area to grab some dinner, there was never a supermarket close by to get a few grocery items. It's definitely more convenient now thanks to this Food World. (174)
