I live near the bridlewood metro, they were sold out of chicken legs, decided to call Kennedy commons metro. They had lots. I asked a meat associate if I could have 15lbs. Packed. Didn't want to waste the Styrofoam and plastic wrap. Kajan I believe was his name, checked with his supervisor and packed/weighed it our for me. I had a conversation with the customers waiting at the meat depth, all agreed the customer service here(meat dept) is far superior than other stores. I agree 100% makes me want to shop here more because of good customer service. read more

I stopped by to get a birthday cake and staff was really helpful in deciding the right one. They had a huge selection of cakes at various price points(starting as low as 12$). I went around dinner time on a Sunday, the store was cozy and quiet. It has ample parking right near the door, so you don't end up waiting. Also they are celebrating birthday of Moi rewards & have great deals ( Green Peppers were under $1/lb ). The store looks quite festive on this occasion. We decided to get some pizza since there was a deal at this metro. This is a really mixed review as there were some high points and some low points. I'd say this place is a 3.5/5. Pizza dough is decent - I feel like it's the same dough they use for cheesy bread so it's a bit thicker but has a nice softness to it. Definitely holds up against the toppings. The pepperoni, ground beef, mushrooms and pineapple pizza had a part that was slightly burnt not sure if it accidentally touched the flames. But otherwise everything else was good. Pineapple had a nice sweetness, pepperoni was tasty along with beef and mushrooms. The chicken bacon pizza had tons of toppings which is great but it felt like someone just tossed things on it at random. Giant chunks of chicken, whole strips of bacon, sliced red peppers but then a giant chunk for no reason. It looked chaotic yet somehow delicious. Hence the mixed reviews. Flavor wise it was good though. Price was really good at 10.99 a pizza - can't complain too much! read more

I dropped by this Metro on a Sunday morning, just after 10 am. It was Daylight Saving (there isn't an S at the end and I will hunt you down if you add one... huge pet peeve of mine) Time. I got up way too early instead of sleeping in till noon. Anyway, I needed some raw honey. I chose to go to a grocery store that I rarely frequent. This Metro is open 24 hours every day and is likely the second closest one to my home. My visit was well before the toilet paper shopping panic had started. I had no problem finding a parking spot that was steps from the main entrance. There is plenty of parking, especially for a crazy person like me up at this hour. I find that going into a grocery store comforts me, no matter where I am on this planet. This place was no exception. I walked in, and loved seeing the sandwiches and drinks that you can grab and go. I spent a ton of time in the cheese and deli meat section. Yum! I managed to find the honey section. There was a decent selection of raw honey. I went with the Irresistibles line. I didn't need fancy and I trust this brand. I ended up in the snack section. I know that's not all that shocking. I was drawn by the Snack Pack juicy gels. They were on sale and did not have any sugar in them. I bought some to try out. This store is cheerful and large. I enjoyed leisurely shopping and browsing on a Sunday morning, which was so out of my element. I went to the checkout. There was a lineup at the lone human checkout. I did something that I rarely do. I went to the self-checkout instead. I prefer that a person cash me out in general. I was obviously out of my mind. The number of times that I have used a self-checkout in my life is now at three. Once in London, UK. Once in Dallas, TX. I can safely add Scarborough, ON. It was pretty straightforward. The prompts are clear, both on the screen and through a woman's voice blasting out of the system. I scanned all my items. I scanned my Air Miles card next. I then paid with a debit card. Done! My only concern is that it's the honour system when it comes to paying for plastic bags. At this self-checkout, you could technically say that you don't need a bag and take them all home. Who would do any check there? Such a random thought! Anyway, the raw honey was exactly what I needed. The Snack Pack juicy gels were yummy. I had food poisoning a few days before this visit and my appetite was nonexistent. These gels helped get my appetite back, which made me happy. I'd come back here again. 24/7 It is now hard to find another grocery store that opens that kind of hours! Great to pick up something anytime. I like to come here for late night shopping. They selling beers till 11 pm. This location is conveniently located in the Kennedy Commons Plaza, right off the Highway. Metro has always been known to have good selection of premium brands that are typically considered healthy. So its a good option to check out if you don't have a Whole Foods near you. If you have allergies or food restrictions, it's a good option for gluten free brands, dairy free brands and vegan options. The deli meat selection and meat alternative frozen sections also good. Their Irresistible house brand is actually pretty great for sauces. I love their Marinara & Vodka Pasta Sauces as well as their Pizza Dipping Sauces they keep near the pizza dough and ready made hot counter. Overall its a great place to checkout if you're in a pinch, or looking for a premium item. read more

This Kennedy Commons plaza location of Metro is huge with lots of parking. I'm here browsing this store for the first time. It's beautiful and spacious! There's a very large beer and wine department too with a notable product selection. Even the Floral department got my attention. I will return and spend time to shop. read more

Quite quick and simple to shop. Items are fresh and staff amazingly friendly. It's was awesome to experience this store atmosphere.

Never thought a grocery chain store would make good pizza. Noticed the pizzeria, grabbed an XL cheese pizza. Even with a 15 minute commute home the pizza was still hot and fresh. Good amount of cheese. Sweet well spread tomato sauce. Soft well baked chewy crust. It was just good, reminded me of local New York City slices. Overall was surprised that the pizza was that good. With the noticeable amount of people waiting in line for their orders, its self explanatory. Toppings are available, believe this location has an XL pizza special on Wednesdays. Would recommend a try and I would go again. read more

Late night store run for some munchies to go with our dvd movie. I'm so glad there are a number of Metro's that are open 24/7. This one is in the Kennedy Commons shopping plaza and is HUGE, organized and clean! Lots of choices for late night snackin. Passed by the bakery and noticed they had enormous bagels the size of my hand. They had 2 large rolling racks full of discounted bakery items but nothing that I was in the mood for. Took a peek at their refrigerated meat section and noticed some packages marked 40% off (good deal if you're gonna cook it right away). I'm gonna pass, definitely NOT cooking at this time of night (11 pm). Wow! The chip aisle is a snack lover's dream, lots and lots of healthy and unhealthy options, name brands and generic. The bulk snack and candy bins were in the same aisle. Picked up some roasted, salted macadamia nuts for $4.07/100 gms. Took a look around and saw their floral department, it's one of the biggest I've seen in a grocery store. Went to check out and had two choices either self check out (there were 4 stations open) or be lazy and line up at the one and only cash register that was open. Even though the self check out was faster I chose to stand in the regular check out line. Walkin out noticed they sectioned off part of the parking lot for plants and gardening items, will be back to check this out. They may be more expensive than No Frills but when you want name brands or a lot of variety AND it's late at night or very early in the morning this is the store for you. Keep your eyes peeled and make sure to pick up their store flyer because you can still find good deals here. read more

Pretty shady business practice by Metro at Kennedy Commons. Long story short: I went in to buy beef tenderloin steaks on two different days. The first day I didn't buy any steaks because the portion size was small. The next day they sold the same steaks but they changed the shrink wrappings on the packages, slapped on the Angus Beef sticker and jacked up the prices by nearly two times. Needless to say I won't be shopping for steaks at this Metro any time soon. I will let my friends and family know of this shady business practice. Shame on you, Metro! SMH read more

I have been shopping here for years now, and I am very impressed with their recent renovations. This place is very conveniently located just off the highway, and is also open 24 hours! They have a very large selection, and with the new renovations, it added an upscale look to the store. They are not the cheapest, but make sure to watch out for their flyer, as they have very good weekly specials. read more

Hi my rating is based on the pizza section. Metro has taken the time to pick quality toppings. Topping quality is much better than any of the large pizza chains that I've had. All the pizzas are cooked in stone ovens. This also applies to the panzarottis. Amazing taste for the price the panzarottis are actually cheap. As for the rest of the store 98% of their items are overpriced. read more

My husband and I are visiting from Hawai'i and found the Metro near our hotel. There is a great selection of just about everything including Asian items. The Deli food is great to supply a quick fast food fix. The prices are reasonable and the quality is good. Our check out lady was very kind. We'll go back again for more things to take home. This is probably the nicest Metro grocery store I have ever shopped in. Big, clean and full of wonderful food. Great deli, produce section, meat section, bakery. So why only 3 stars? Well, the staff for one. The deli staff are few and far between, lots of long wait times, complain in front of the customers. The cashiers are not so friendly and the cashier today didn"t know how to pack a grocery bag. The traffic is horrendous in this part of town, no matter when I have been there. Having said all of this, I still venture 20 minutes from home to shop here as I can always find the products I am looking for. Always fresh. I guess some things are worth the trade off. read more

This is the worst metro I have ever been in and am 58 years old. When it is busy, cashiers are far and few in between. In the early morning, sometimes a cashier is not at a register. Staff behind the counter(s) love to chat even though they know a customer is waiting; I have heard them and it is not business-related. I have seen the elderly struggle trying to navigate this 'hockey arena' size place. It would be prudent to have chairs scattered throughout the store so that they may sit a while. The manager is non-attentive and seems 'pissed' (sorry, only word to describe it) when questions are posed. Be mindful of expiry dates and the legitimacy of same!!! The only good thing is that they finally cancelled with the silly .25 shopping cart rental...had never seen that with any metro I have gone to in the past. This is likely because some competition has moved in. That's where I am shopping now and it is AWESOME. Thank you. read more

I just bought Selection brand rice vermicilli (thin noodles ) 400 g. I boiled them for few minutes as per instruction and drained them. I WAS HORRIFIED!!!! Being a visionary (psychic or very intuative) I usually do not smell noodles before putting them in my homemade sauce but this time did and glad i did! They smelled like cleaning chemicals like chlorine, caulking like Alex plus, paint , glue or similar home renovation materials - poisons.. i was even stupid enough to taste a tiny bit of this (because could not believe it..) and it tasted the same like i was eating concoction of paint or glue ). I am returning this to store for refund and making sure they notify management of this. read more

They have these REALLY big cupcakes that can actully serve 3 people a slice of cake, and they re amazing. Its actully a cupcake cut in haif and filled with the best frosting ive ever had, no aftertaste at all. I don't know the price because I got this as my birthday cake. At valentines they have red velvet and with or without a date on that day it really dont matter because this thing makes you forget about everything except how good it tastes. I have been going to this location since it was dominion and when Kennedy commons was built back in early 2000's. For the past year, i bought the family pack croissants from here to last my family for the week. However the past month, I've noticed the freshness is lacking. The bakery section is horrible. I bought the family pack which is supposedly packed for the same date I buy them. But it tastes like one day old stake croissants. On another note, today I decide to buy a bday cake. And ask if any traces of nuts in the cake( to be safe bc a family member has a SEVERE allergy to nuts) the response I get, ' ma'am I don't know what's in the ingredients. We just make it'. Really......? I've been going to this location bc of the size and variety, but now the staff do not know what they are making in their 'made in store' foods? I literally walked out and went to longo's (15 min drive away). The staff there knew what's they are serving. Better service and quality. read more
