The parking lot is always crazy here. Difficult to get in and out. Lots of people and cars. it's designed poorly. This plaza also have rexall, some restaurants and other small stores. The no frills is a decent size, always busy. Long cashier lines, but its good to get some cheap essentials. The fruits are hit and miss, sometimes are good, sometimes are in ver bad condition. It's a good place to get your non-perishables. read more

No frills is no frills for sure. It is like a yellow K mart, meaning the shelves and everything looks kinda old. I mean it does have everything you need and it is clean. It does have a lot of Asian items too, I guess it depends on the neighborhood. read more

No world's 80s, really good. Customer service is really good. But I just hate that you can't bring Bike or a scooter inside the South Chicago area. But it is really good. The prices are a bit up, but it is good 4 stars. read more

The other day I went to see if they had Benadryl. Their over-the-counter medicine is kept in a locked glass display. This is an upgrade from their prior metal cage. While I was looking at the options another customer had asked an employee to unlock the display for him to get what he needed. Once the young female employee was done helping the other customer I asked her a few questions about allergy meds and all she could say was that she didn't know. Then she turned to another employee working behind us and asked if she had a key for the display (since one was missing from cash 5). The second employee answered that she did have a key so the first employee pawned me off onto the second employee so that she could go back to socializing with her friend at a checkout lane. Once the second employee unlocked the display and took out what I wanted she walked me to checkout. It seems that the employees at this location are very unknowledgeable. Another time I asked if they had a certain product and the employee didn't know and pointed out another employee to ask and they did not know either and actually pointed me back to the first employee. read more

Richard's No Frills is now Listro's No Frills. I came here April 9 first time in 8 years after an hour of cruising for a supermarket without a lineup to get in and where I could pay cash. It's been my Corona Crisis grocery friend ever since. Only twice in 8 tries have I had to abort because of a lineup outside or inside. The store seems much improved from my long-ago visit and some of the earlier reviews. To my taste the produce is better than discount competitor's Food Basics & Freshco and in certain items better than Loblaws or Metro, The loose Garlic I bought here was the freshest I've found since early 2019 ( been running into Garlic that's dry inside when diced..). Ginger was good too. Sweet Peppers not as good as Longo's but as good or better than other chains. Some of the usual suspects are sold out or sparse as with almost every other supermarket (Meat, freezer items, household disinfectants..) household paper is recovering with the usual per-customer quantity limits. Do they manage COVID19 congestion better or just a case of not being very busy in the evenings? I think it helps how they usually keep Express Checkout open - it gets small-purchase customers done sooner which thins out other lanes and helps lower the in-store population. Walking around I got nostalgic impression from it's older design and compact proportions. I recalled how in the late 70's & early 80's the sloping glass front windows would have been really cool. There was also something welcoming and sensible about the smaller, easily scouted layout. 3.5 /5 for now - a smaller supermarket isn't for everyone or every shopping need- and I'd like to see their post-Corona performance before I round them up above the median. But I see this store getting a fair chunk of my business until they give me reason to stop. read more

Visited multiple times. My favourite grocery store! Pros Fresh vegetables, meat and fruit! Amazing prices! Freshly baked breads! Helpful staff, I'm always looking for very specific items. I use PC points Mastercard to get free groceries, been doing this for over 8 years! Cons Only takes Mastercard credit cards. Turning left onto Don Mills restricted in the morning and afternoon I think 9am - 11am and 4pm-6pm. Long checkout lines especially during the evening. Roof was leaking last week, which looked pretty ghetto with buckets to collect the water. Proptip Bring a loonie for the shopping carts, there are two sizes to choose from. read more

WARNING; RICHARD'S NO FRILLS DOES NOT GIVE REFUND ON DOLLAR STORE ITEMS AND VIOLATED THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT OF ONTARIO I tried to get a refund on some spoons bought in the dollar store section, and had the receipt, but the clerk told me that No Frills does not give refunds on dollar store items. I was further told that at the check out counters, there are signs that say no refunds are given on dollar store items. However, on the back of the receipt it says that there are refunds if the merchandise is returned within 14 days. Also, at the customer service booth, there is a big sign in red printing which says again that merchandise can be returned within 14 days with receipt, and there is no mention that dollar store items are excluded from the 14 day return policy. Thus there are conflicting signs in the store on whether dollar store items can be returned. The Consumer Protection Act of Ontario says that where there is any uncertainty in a consumer agreement (in this case, the refund of dollar store items because of the conflicting signs and receipts), there must be an interpretation in favour of the consumer. Thus Richard's No Frills is violating the Consumer Protection Act of Ontario when it would not give a refund on the dollar store items. I then asked to speak to the store manager, but the store manager was not in on Saturday, so the store clerk took my name and phone number, as well as the dollar store item, and said that the store manager would call me on Monday to discuss the issue. The store manager never called, which is poor customer service and followup.I might add that since I had left the spoons with the store clerk, along with my name and phone number, the store is getting the spoons for free to sell again, even though I had paid for them. read more

I did not have any bad experiences at this No Frills prior to it being acquired by Richard, the new owner. I do not know what happened, but now the employees are unfriendly, unwilling to help, and impolite. In fact, I think some of them lack basic etiquette! On several occasions, cashiers did not (or refused to) make eye contact with the customer when handing them change or telling them the amount to pay. Some employees will look impatient if they are inquired about where a certain item is, and those that are shelving items will pretend to not see you if you approach them with a question that requires a quick response. Why do some employees act as if they are better than the customer when THEY are the ones serving them? Did they have a bad day or personal issues that made them project their frustrations on the customer? The management ought to do something about this. read more

Contrary to other reviewer's on here, I love this particular location of the No Frills Grocery stores! I shop there all the time, and I have never had a problem finding stock. I don't get what people are talking about with this nonsense? If stock disappears in a hurry, it must get replenished by the time I get there. Also, I find the check-out Cashier girls to be nice and friendly, but maybe that's because I am nice and friendly to them? Perhaps other customers somehow don't notice that this is an extremely busy store? It's that busy for good reason! The prices are terrific! That's why so many people shop there. Sure, the line-ups are long, but I expect that when I shop at a store that has that many great deals in the flyer! The only problem I have is with the Parking Lot, and that's not the fault of the No Frills store. That's the fault of the drivers who can't seem to decide how to park, or how to leave the parking lot. ***P.S: ~ I totally disagree with a previous review that suggested you go to the " Market down the street instead" ~Yeah Right...NOT!!! I would not suggest that to my worst enemy! I live right near that Market joint, and I never shop there anymore! For one thing, that particular Market's prices are a bit on the ridiculous side! Sadly, their produce and fish is not as fresh as it used to be. Also that insane Peanut Plaza Parking Lot is a total CLOWN SHOW ! Sorry, but the Peanut Plaza is famous for it's lousy drivers, and that parking lot is even smaller and wackier than the Skymark Plaza lot! ...Whatever!
