Dr. Tran's dental practice is absolutely wonderful. A Dentist can write anything to say what they stand for on their website, but Dr. Tran and his team truly live up to creating a comfortable, gentle, and trusting environment! I have neglected my cleanings for a few years and Dr. Tran got be back on track. I love his approach in only suggesting what is needed and seeing what works best before moving on to the next step and was extremely impressed with the technology that is used in the office. I am relatively new to the dentist arena and I have a lot of anxiety but in spite of that , my dentist office always puts me at ease..never fails to answer my questions .. and is so nice to deal with ...Nancy , front of office is great at putting my anxieties to a minimum, i appreciate that . I'm no stranger to the dentist's chair. Most of my elderly relatives had/have dentures or have had problems with gum disease. I probably had more dentistry done in my early 20's than the average person does in a lifetime. As you can imagine, keeping my teeth in great shape is important to me. I moved here from NC in 2011 and I was going to the dentist about once a year on my trips back to NC. I started traveling back East less and less and really needed to find a regular dentist here. I heard about Dr. Sutton at a health fair at my job. I liked the idea of getting free teeth whitening. I think that's a very generous perk of going to this office. During the past year, Dr. Sutton has worked on every single tooth in my mouth. I've gotten to know him very well at his Tempe and Phoenix offices. I look for the same qualities in a dentist as I would in a surgeon and I think Dr. Sutton is an outstanding dentist. He's professional, kind and does great work. Given that I do get to know my dentists fairly well, the comment I'd throw in about Dr. Sutton is that he's actually a fun guy. I remember him showing me a funny video on You Tube once in between dental procedures because he said: "I know you'll like this!" And I did! Now I wouldn't be expecting him to entertain you with videos, but my point was, he knew enough about me to know what I liked. I appreciate that. The thing that has impressed me the most about Dr. Sutton is his deep sense of compassion. At the point where I realized that I needed a lot of new work done on my teeth I got very depressed about it and stopped smiling as much. I have a naturally broad smile and I started compromising and not smiling or smiling without showing my teeth. Dr. Sutton encouraged me to keep smiling, even though I didn't feel great about my teeth. He'd give me a pep talk each time when I came in. That big smile was a part of my personality. It wasn't easy, but I did keep smiling and now my teeth look better than ever, so it's easy. I know that some people have had complaints about this or that here on Yelp but don't let that sway you from getting genuinely good dental care. All dentists are not equal. I'd recommend Dr. Sutton without reservation and I have the chops (literally) to back my testimonial. I really like the staff at both the offices too. Dr. Sutton is an amazing dentist! I have been going here for years now. He always makes sure you know what's going on, makes sure you don't experience any pain, and always makes sure you are comfortable. The staff is fantastic as well! On Friday (03/15/2019) I tripped and broke half of my front tooth off. I called Metro Refresh Dentistry the next day on their emergency line and they got me in that morning on their day off! Dr Sutton and Liz came in and were very friendly and caring even though they weren't supposed to be there on a Saturday! He made my tooth look like it was never broken! The staff was very nice and personable, they made my appointment very comfortable, the dentist was really nice and gentle. When I started to feel some pain he quickly took everything out so I wouldn't be in more pain and numbed me some more before starting again. They were able to take me right away after my cleaning so I could get everything filled without waiting for another appointment. Top Notch my search is over. I finally found a professional dentist who delivers everything in a family dentist. He is extremely gentle and makes sure you have no pain and are comfortable at all times. I was not embarrassed or scared to open my mouth to what he might find. He was very upfront with me not how bad it looks but how he will make it better, not for his pocket book, but for your confidence. I was a mess, I had not visited a dentist in years; in two visits I walked out with a new smile and outlook on life. I was never treated like a number. I was treated better than family. I do not have the best insurance or job he worked with me on both. I look great and feel healthy again. His staff are the most caring people you will ever meet in your life. I was contacted by this office from winning a free teeth whitening kit when i registered at the bridal expo. I just moved to Phx and needed a dentist so I gave them a try. My 1st appt took a LONG time, almost 2 hrs luckily I wasn't in a rush and people there were great to talk to. Luckily, I stayed and listened to the dentist because he found many problems with my teeth that previous dentist haven't noticed. I work as an ICU RN, and I love to see progress. I LOVE how they took pictures of my teeth and explain how I'm at extremely high risk of getting a cavity from the white rings on my teeth. This is great because he actually can SHOW me what's wrong with them instead of me having to trust them in what they see. Also because the photos can be amplified, he's able to find things that are hard to find to the naked eye. Also, every time I see him, he takes pics of before treatment and after...and he sends a copy of them home with you! It's nice to see progression and treatment without having to pry it out of dentists. I highly appreciate the time he takes to explain things to me and what the plan is. I was afraid to get all of my cavities (total 4) fixed at 1st because of the cost it can have. but they figured out a way for me to pay for certain ones now since my insurance was covering them. After fixing 3 of the 4, I didnt' have any more coverage at that time. So they said, not to worry and they will take care of it in 2015 when my dental plan recycles again, having full allowance again. I am paying more monthly premium in order to continue going to Dr. Sutton, but it is well worth it! read more

I called here today to ask some questions about getting an appointment for a root canal and when I asked the women on the phone about payment options she was very rude and said payment is due at time of service and hung up without saying bye or anything. I got a message saying that i was "drawn as a winner" at the bridal expo I attended, This office was extremely unprofessional and moved back my appointment time twice and acted like I had gotten the times wrong even though I had voicemail's telling me different times. This was the 1st out of many lies this office told me. Everything that they had told me was twisting the truth including them confirming (multiple times ) my insurance would cover everything when they tried to get me to sign a form saying I would pay 200.00 on my cleaning. When I came in the office it looked like it was in a sketchy old apartment complex, no signs indicating they were an office , like they were trying to hide something. The paper work I had to sign confirmed my uneasy feeling, no paperwork should ask for 4 different peoples social security numbers. When I was called back, they spent 1 hour doing painful x-rays, I kept saying how much the x-ray hurt, How I needed a smaller size, the women doing my x-ray said "do you just want me to jam it in your mouth so I can get it over with or try and be gentle" after 40 x-rays (only 4 were good) I began to cry and went into the bathroom , my mouth was bleeding. I had been exposed to radiation from the x-rays for an hour and the women doing my x-rays said, "Sorry I am just the receptionist" I was shocked! I am not confident from her own admission that she was a licensed medical professional instead of a "receptionist." I immediately terminated the appointment and left the office. read more

I've had my fair share of dental work over the years under the care of a few different doctors. But Dr. Sutton has been hands down the best dental experience I have ever had. The time, detail, and care that goes into all dental work done in that office is impeccable. I learned more about my dental hygiene in a 45 minute consult with him, than I have in my years of dentist visits. I too "won" a free teeth-whitening service, but in retrospect it was a scam. I get that it's a way to get people in the door (i.e. everybody wins), and I respect that, but I felt like it was dishonest from the start. When I booked my appointment I was asked when my last cleaning had been and I told them it had been the previous day (true!) with a full visit. She sounded disappointed, and said, "oh, so you already have a regular dentist for those things?" and I said yes. When I arrived, the regular receptionist wasn't there so others were filling in, which I know is tough. I filled out the new patient paperwork but didn't sign the "I was given the HIPAA info" because there wasn't any! When I asked, the girl said "well, it's just standard. HIPAA is a law that says we can't share your information." I know what HIPAA is, but I wasn't signing that I'd been given a copy when I wasn't. She seemed lost, but dug around and eventually came up with a copy. But then... I noticed my "treatment plan", which she'd accidentally handed me with the HIPAA form. It included an exam, cleaning, X-rays and the whitening (all billable to insurance, except the whitening). I told her I thought there was an error--I wasn't in for all that--and she said that X-rays are required before doing the service. What??? I had just had films three weeks prior and wasn't up for more. She was insistent that they're necessary to be sure the whitening is safe, and that they have to do their own. I told her that 1-I was frustrated that they didn't have me request films when the appointment was set and 2-they wouldn't accept them from my regular DDS. Then she told me "well, they're digital" (as if that lowers the exposure!) and THEN "they're just low dose". That made me lose confidence in her completely! Dental films, while limited in area, have to have deeper penetration to get through enamel. And I'd just had films! And--she didn't know--I work around X-ray and don't need one single extra mGy, especially for an unnecessary test. At that point I decided that having whiter teeth definitely wasn't worth unnecessary radiation exposure, possible billable procedures that wouldn't be covered and the almost sure follow-up of dental work that I "needed". (The client before me was leaving when she was told about a cavity and that "they could just go ahead and fill it today".) I walked out, lesson learned. Two stars instead of one because the people I spoke with at the office were nice enough, but the business and subsequent clinical model are obviously flawed. read more

Nothing against Dr. Sutton he deserves 5 stars but unfortunately front office deserves nothing. I have been a patient for a couple years now great dentist, great work, great staff except front office everytime I have gone she is always on her phone texting, it never bothered me until now that I have been trying to get a hold of someone since thursday, I have left voicemails and no returns. I went to the office today because I called 3 times and someome would pick up and hang right up. The lights were on but the door was locked it was a little over 11 A.M, I did come back because maybe they were out to lunch and I live around the area so no big deal, I came back an hour and half later and still no one. I'm so upset because I spoke to someone on Friday but they couldn't answer the question I had so she did say to call back Monday that Melody would be in all week answering calls because Dr. Sutton was out. I can't believe it's been since Thursday and I haven't been able to get a hold of Melody. I will be looking for a new dentist after this not because of the dentist but because of how the front office management is handled, what if this was an emergency I don't want to believe how It would be handled. It is such a pitty because he does amazing work, and I have spent a lot of money here. read more

I read other reviews before going to this dentist. Sorry to hear about the person who got the raffle from bridal expo. I tossed my name in at the women's expo recently and received a text that I won free teeth whitening also. I called ahead of time to ask all the questions....is there a copay? do i pay a percentage? and was told nothing. Spoke with Shelly and she was helpful and very nice. Even set up a cleaning when she let me know my insurance has them as a provider. I just got back from the office and it took me ten minutes to fill out new client info. The girls at desk were extremely friendly. Had no issues during xrays....I mean xrays in your mouth people....of course it is going to be slightly uncomfortable, but nothing I haven't experienced before at dentists. Dr Sutton was extremely nice to me and no one pushed me into anything. I definitely will be making them my new dentist and going back.....and I live in Surprise so that's saying something. Can't wait to try the teeth whitening kit I got!!!!!! I am sorry, but I did forget the technician that cleaned my teeth.....incredibly NICE and FRIENDLY woman!!!!!!
