The sales person that helped us came from the used car sales school....he had a quick-shot answer for everything. The mattresses were decently priced, until you add on all the extras: bed frame, delivery, and a mattress pad that they REQUIRE you to buy, if you want the WARRANTY TO BE VALID. He kept pushing how IMPORTANT IT WAS TO KEEP THE MATTRESS PAD IN PERFECT CONDITION OR ELSE THE WARRANTY WAS INVALID. There couldn't even be the slightest rip in it, or else the warranty was invalid. Plus the sales person flat out lied to us about their in-house brand, American Signature. He said that the beds are made by Simmons....a little Google search shows differently. Next we went to City Mattress and met John Ogletree, a very nice salesman there. The whole experience was a pleasure. John asked what we were interested in, and showed us a few different mattresses. The prices were good, plus no hidden fees. Not wanting to make a snap decision we decided that we would try one more place. That is when we made the mistake of going to Metro Mattress. I wouldnt even recommend them to my worst enemies. They deployed sales tactics out of The How To Be A Lousy Sales Person Handbook. We finally had had enough and told the rude sales person that we made a decision. She got excited for a second. Till I told her we were going back across the street to by a mattress from John. We went back, and John got the sale written up. He gave us a very fair and honest deal. Fast forward to today..... the bed was delivered today!!! They called right at 8 am on the dot, and said they would be here between noon and three. They got here a a few minutes before noon, and now I'm writing this review laying down in the most comfortable bed I have ever had the pleasure to be in!!!!! Great ! So far so good. The next day two workers showed up in a rental truck with the merchandise . When I showed them the room on the second floor , one of them spotted a small beetle on the floor and mistaking it for a bed bug said that they wouldn't complete the delivery. So off they went , leaving the new mattress and box spring on our porch and the old ones on the second floor. We closely inspected the existing mattress for any evidence of the presence any infestation and found none. It's also my understanding that if these bugs were present ,the person sleeping on the bed would have experienced bites. There has been no such thing. We had considered hiring movers to complete the work that had been promised by City Mattress but by now it had begun to rain and fearing that the new mattress might be damaged ,we dragged it indoors. Then we decided to do the moving and setup ourselves rather trying to hire movers ,causing additional expense . I'm 77 years old and my wife 76, but somehow we managed to carry the new mattress and box spring upstairs and the old ones down. Looking back, I don't think we would do that again, but at the time , it seemed that we had no choice. Well, after phone conversations and a written complaint to City Mattress's website, we've had no response. I guess the next action would be small claims court. I would say that if you're a senior and need a reliable service from a furniture company, avoid City Mattress.

When Sunday came, which had also required changing plans to accommodate, we received a call less than 15 minutes prior to earliest projected time informing us that due to an error, delivery would not be made that day. It was again rescheduled for 5 days later. We'll see if they come through this time. Very disappointing.
