Only during warm up or Top Tracer 30 option, will they track your distance/performance in the history on the app to give you insights. You can even use it to play a game or use targets to simulate holes from different golf courses. It doesn't record my longest shot distance when I played a simulated hole from a golf course. It would instead record the distance to the pin. The mats on the right or left side don't have these machines. This place is still busy as ever even on a weekday night. We were able to score a free basket by collecting points. It makes practicing so much more fun! I went through my basket quickly playing this, and it motivated me to get better. Now this game changer solidifies this place as my favourite driving range in the city. There is a putting area to practice and an area for without a pin for chipping perhaps. However, there's sometimes a class going on there. I've heard the owner can be pretty harsh, but I have yet to interact with him and have been here many times without hiccups. He has left us alone every time we came here to practice. This driving range and another near the airport are the only ones in the GTA that use these TopTracer machines so it'll get us coming back for sure.

The grass areas has been a bit dry so far this season and there are no tracer machines there. But it's available. They seem to take decent care of their mats and replace them fairly regularly. You still have access to an okay chipping and putting range. Line-ups haven't been too terrible compared to right after the pandemic. The kids working have always been great. Just avoid most of the older guys in the golf carts and you'll be fine.

There were not very many houses around the course either. Since that time I played the Academy 9-hole course a number of times. I liked the Academy because it was very challenging for a short course. If you miss the fairway, there was a very high chance that you would lose your ball in the rough and/or fescue. The fescue is baaaaad. Don't even bother trying to hit out of it. I finally decided to try out the 18-hole course after years of procrastinating. I played on a Sunday afternoon at 3:01 pm (twilight starts at 3 pm, and super twilight at 5:30 pm). For $65 you get a cart for your 18 holes. I highly recommend getting a cart. There are a lot of hills and you won't enjoy your round if you had to carry your bag. Both the 9- and 18-hole courses are very well maintained. There are some tough spots (we played after it rained) and the bunkers can be brutal. We took free drops instead of playing out of the bunkers, especially after rain. Also a couple of the holes had very strange layouts. There were two greens that were absolutely hidden and nearly impossible to aim for unless you had played it before. Thankfully all the carts are fitted with GPS devices so you know how far you are from the green. The staff and marshalls were all very polite and kind. We had a slow group but the marshall tried her best to keep everyone moving. Their service really stood out to me. I would definitely play Braeben again. For $65 and the convenience of the course's location, I think it's a great value. You might have a tough time if you're a beginner because of the fescue and tight fairways, but there are some easy par 3s and straight 4s to keep you going.

Don't expect anything too fancy.. everything is kinda straight outta the 70s and kept that way, so it feels like a bit of time warp. The golf course itself is ok. If you decide to walk it, prepare to track a lot of mud on your pull cart and golf shoes. The first few holes are a land mine of geese poo, like a public restroom for geese to do their business. If you're a clean freak and want to keep your trunk clean, you might want to pony up and get a golf cart to save the hassle. It's a warm sunny day and I've played golf in worse conditions with the rain and mud, but this type of mud is the worst - gummy, cakes on. We took 30 minutes after attempting to take off. The staff only offered a muddy broomstick, which wasn't much help. We couldn't use their power wash. During Twilight time, prepare to play with greens with Autumn leaves all over (see pic as reference). There aren't many hazards/bodies of water, so chances of losing balls are minimal. We started at 3:15 pm on Sunday as a group of 4, all walking. We are primarily beginners and played slow, 13 holes by 6 pm. I have to admit I was terrible today, I was Duffy the Bogey Slayer. There's still enough light, so it's possible to finish as single or pair if there's no one in front. Weekend Twilight rate is $38.54/per person +tax.

Special shoutout to Sal for going through the extra trouble of locating a more suitable club for me when I wasn't really happy about the one they initially gave (& also bringing it right up to me at the range!) The driving range is pretty spacious & there are plenty (although it does get more crowded later on in the day). There are a few target practicing flags on the range as well. It's also easily the best value you're going to find. For a little over $20, I paid much more for farmer field type courses. Everything was just so lush!! There were lots of ball marks on the greens, but that's probably due to the amount of newbs this place would attract not fixing their marks. But even then, it's still in pretty good shape. We were playing sandwhiched between two groups of seniors, and they all did it happily. There are no powered carts and only pulls, but you really don't need it. It's a fairly flat course except for the first and last holes. Plus its a very lovely stroll through the park.
