At green fees averaging around $50 including a cart, they certainly has the best value for an 18-hole outing as the other clubs would cost you closer to $70 pre-twilight. The staff at Bushwood are always very nice and the course is looking really good. They have been working on course improvements and though I did not visit prior to the improvements, I have heard from a couple sources that it turned out well. The course consists of 3 par-3s, 12 par-4s and 3 par-5s. From the couple times I have played here, conditions on most of the holes were great. The tee blocks could get worn out sometimes, but to be fair, Bushwood does see a high volume of play. Around the greens, I found that the grass was always lush and well kept. The greens are quite slow, but they were clean and also well kept. The main problem that I was having was the abundance of leaves on the fairway. I ended up losing a couple balls simply because I couldn't locate it among all of the leaves! During play, I was wishing that par on a couple of the holes would be bumped up while a couple others would be moved down but afterwards I realized that everything fits in perfectly. Staff is very friendly here as well. From my experience, they always welcome you and they always say goodbye. So overall a great course and a great playing experience. Just two things that could make it great. 1) Have the leaves regularly cleared from the fairways so they don't accumulate too much(there was also some weird mess of burs of hole 14, I think) 2) Have a starter

I thoroughly enjoyed all the days, sunsets & hours spent at the driving range practicing This place is just beautiful & so conveniently located close to home. Workers here are friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Special shoutout to Sal for going through the extra trouble of locating a more suitable club for me when I wasn't really happy about the one they initially gave (& also bringing it right up to me at the range!) The driving range is pretty spacious & there are plenty (although it does get more crowded later on in the day). There are a few target practicing flags on the range as well. I haven't had the chance to play holes here but I would love to next season!

The grass areas has been a bit dry so far this season and there are no tracer machines there. But it's available. They seem to take decent care of their mats and replace them fairly regularly. You still have access to an okay chipping and putting range. Line-ups haven't been too terrible compared to right after the pandemic. The kids working have always been great. Just avoid most of the older guys in the golf carts and you'll be fine.

You can even use it to play a game or use targets to simulate holes from different golf courses. It doesn't record my longest shot distance when I played a simulated hole from a golf course. It would instead record the distance to the pin. The mats on the right or left side don't have these machines. This place is still busy as ever even on a weekday night. We were able to score a free basket by collecting points. It makes practicing so much more fun! I went through my basket quickly playing this, and it motivated me to get better. Now this game changer solidifies this place as my favourite driving range in the city. There is a putting area to practice and an area for without a pin for chipping perhaps. However, there's sometimes a class going on there. I've heard the owner can be pretty harsh, but I have yet to interact with him and have been here many times without hiccups. He has left us alone every time we came here to practice. This driving range and another near the airport are the only ones in the GTA that use these TopTracer machines so it'll get us coming back for sure.

There are LOTS of mature trees, creeks, and ponds, waiting to swallow your ball. Changes in elevation make club selection crucial. Hitting your approach shot past the hole could make your next shot very tricky. Don't let the Par 71, 6,026 yards fool you. All of these factors can bite you before you know it. On this occasion, I was co-hosting a small golf tournament (28 players), with dinner following in the restaurant. The weather was near-perfect, with just a little cloud cover to prevent us from getting burned. Despite a minor hiccup with registration at the beginning, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We got everything sorted out to everybody's satisfaction. Our starter, Michael, was great at pacing us off the first tee and giving everybody, especially first-timers, tips on where they should be aiming. Marshals checked with us several times during the round. After seeing the scores at the end of the round, it appears that not many people took Michael's advice. The scores were abnormally high, even from the players that have been here before. After golf, we had a nice BBQ dinner on the patio overlooking the 18th green. The menu included crudite, salads, burgers, sausages, and desserts. There was more than enough food for everybody and it tasted pretty good. I had arrived early, before the tournament, to have breakfast with my co-host and another friend. The breakfast portions are quite generous and the meals were prepared well. I'll be back (even if it's just to find all the balls I left out there)...

These are the names of the three Championship Nines that make up this challenging championship course. Each course has it's own set of challenges, with the Grind being the newest of the three nines. It is arguably the easiest nine holes to play but the most challenging to walk. It is designed around the perimeter of the property, going up to the highest point. It's quite different from the original eighteen holes. Personally, I like the unique challenges it presents, lots of changes in elevation. The original eighteen holes, The Grist and The Wheel, are more mature but a lot flatter, perhaps a little more challenging. Wednesday's round was a practice round for a tournament that I was hosting on Sunday. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate on either day, making the course less appealing than usual. While it wasn't soaking wet, some of the holes, especially on The Grind, needed a few dry days to come into shape. That's nobody's fault but Mother Nature's. As far as the tournament goes, everything went very well! The setup in the morning, the check-ins, the driving range, and the round were all good. After the round, the setup was equally good, with tables on the patio, BBQ on the terrace, and the food. The staff were very patient and helpful. Thank you to Matt Savage, Director of Golf, for all your help in arranging this tournament! And the staff for keeping us on time and on task. The food and service were all excellent!

I have played approximately 1400 golf games in my lifetime which is an average of about 35 rounds each year. I have played all over Canada, the USA, Thailand and even in Mombasa, Kenya and never have I played such a poorly maintained and dysfunctional course. The club house is a shack, the tee boxes are a mixture of sand and weeds, and even the cart girl had attitude. If you are even on a tight budget I strongly suggest another course because this is definitely not good value for the money however If are not fussy and you accept mediocrity then this might be the course for you.
