I had an extremely disappointing experience at the Metro Mobile store location. While assisting my 86-year-old uncle, who is unfamiliar with smartphones, the two employees there seemed disinterested in providing any customer service guidance. Instead of patiently explaining the phone's features to someone of his age, they appeared to take advantage of his limited knowledge by selling him an overly complex device.
When I arrived hoping they could walk my uncle through basic setup, the employees were dismissive and unhelpful, simply telling me to call customer service. Their lack of willingness to address the situation was very frustrating. I expressed these concerns, but they responded unprofessionally, accusing me of having an "attitude."
The entire interaction left a poor impression. Employees should be trained in effective communication, ensuring all customers understand the products they purchase. This was a case of inadequate service and what seems like exploiting a vulnerable elderly customer's inexperience with technology. I was also dissatisfied with the quality of Metro's customer service line, where representatives were difficult to understand.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this Metro Mobile location or their customer service. Improved training in respectful customer interactions and product knowledge is needed. Companies should make an effort to assist all customers, particularly those who may need extra patience and guidance. read more
