Metro Access Control (part of Metro Overhead Door) did an outstanding job in providing us with an automated gate that's built to last with minimal maintenance and great aesthetics. More importantly, they truly exceeded my expectations for service. If only every company did business this way!
In the course of six months, I contacted several dozen fence and gate companies in the area (practically everyone). Most of them failed to give me sufficient confidence I'd end up with anything close to what I was hoping to have accomplished, sometimes by their own admission. Many didn't even bother to return my calls or emails requesting a quote which left me feeling I'd likely have gotten the same treatment if I'd hired them. I'd almost lost faith I could ever get someone to complete this work and if you've been down the road of trying to have a custom gate put in, you probably know exactly what I mean.
From my first meeting with Alex, my estimator / project manager, I received not only prompt but clear and precise communications. Ever write an email with three questions and get a reply responding to just one of them and ignoring the rest? This never happened with Alex. His replies were beyond thorough. I'd ask technical questions and he'd always have answers. Just the clarity of his responses is noteworthy because these days people think it's appropriate to send out typo-ridden, obscure replies from their phone with little or no thought. You can tell when people put time and effort in a response and Alex always did. This really facilitated the process of finalizing the gate design.
Alex was very patient in answering ALL my questions (admittedly, I can't help but to be thorough and try to ferret out any issues in advance). He also set up meetings so I could put my questions to Todd (who did a phenomenal job fabricating and finishing the gate). Not only did I get answers but they took the time to send photos and let me come see the progress during the build. All of this helped set expectations at every stage so there wasn't a disconnect on what I thought would be built and what got delivered. Throughout, Alex and Todd provided many great suggestions and ideas for the gate design. Sean, who supervised the install, came out a couple times to quickly and effortlessly sort out implementation details.
The install work happened in December on some truly cold days (like in the twenties with 35+ mph gusts on one of the days). Bill and Anthony worked all day outside in those conditions. All I can say is these guys are incredibly hardcore! They stuck to their timelines and did great work even under those circumstances.
As someone who has managed a large number of complex IT projects in the past, I truly appreciated having Alex at the helm. He brought excellent communications, transparency, expert-level task/time management, and professionalism to ensure a successful outcome. I knew I was in good hands. I went into this with a general idea of what I wanted and Metro successfully handled all the complicated details. I genuinely felt a lot of enthusiasm from Metro in working on my project and I'm sure they bring that level of motivation to all their clients.
