"The Forgotten Patient" Worse hospital ever for the "I…read moreforgot you were here" people. Not just one time but for over five-six hours. I begged all that time "Can I please have some water?" I had the IV line (two the first sticks one "blew" a vein, blood was just pouring) inserted but no IV fluids bag installed. My veins were collapsing because I was DEHYDRATED! Never got fluids of any kind the entire time. I came in by ambulance and had an immediate CAT scan but the dye or contrast didn't go in my veins but collected at the puncture site causing a massive painful red/purple/blue lump. The size of a lemon. The nurse grabbed some sticky bandage as tight as possible but that caused the lump to break into THREE huge painful lumps and my entire arm swelled. After hours and hours I realized if I wanted the basic needs of human being food and water, even sleep I needed to go home this was basic care which I couldn't get at this hospital. If something was wrong I figured 5-6 hours after one test was long enough or, unless they were truly cruel just did not care. That was so hard to believe so I must be fine. Definitely forgotten! I asked before I left if they would call with the CAT scan results "Absolutely!" Never got that call either! What did I get from Richardson Methodist? Massive bruising from blown veins, missed veins, vein, blowout contrast lumps, other arm collapsed veins (could I be DEHYDRATED! hint!) and extreme depression knowing I'm not worth their time. More tortuous than helpful. No fluids, diagnosis, recommendations, doctor, test result, medications, bloodwork (can you be charged for an IV if they never attached the IV fluid bag?) no physical exam of any kind, nothing. Going to a hospital like this when you're alone is like going to court without a lawyer! No-one to help and stand up for you and you end up being a "forgotten patient" Interesting fact, this is becoming a "phenomenon" in the medical world, coming in alone by ambulance, put in a room, might've been seen and had a test, then forgotten! I was shocked. That's what happened to me!! "Forgotten patient" is real! Even when it's a very slow time it still happens. Like "hot car" baby death, parents just forget they're there. So I guess make sure you're never alone! "Forgotten Patient" is real and it is terrible.

They are all competent and I wouldn't hesitate to see any of them. My favorite is Dr. Sheryl Cowan. I enjoy her the best because she is a woman around my age group and she is very understanding and caring and she gets what I am saying. She's down to earth and I never feel rushed. I always feel listened to. Her nurse, Tony is awesome as well! He's straightforward, yet you can joke around with him. COVID safety protocols are strictly observed. I called yesterday afternoon and was able to get an appointment first thing this morning! Eileen is the scheduler and she is always pleasant to talk to on the phone when making your appointment and in person when you are checking out afterwards. I was joking with Eileen yesterday that I needed to see Dr Cowan so I could get my prescriptions refilled. She said, "oh she's holding your prescriptions hostage, huh!" Sweet, friendly humor that I appreciate so much! If you're looking for a great team of family doctors, you can't go wrong!

Several recommended Dr. Lin at Arapaho Clinic. I'm happy to have found him and would recommend him to anyone. He's knowledgeable, explains his intent and choices (if you want him to) and is contentious of your health and healthcare costs. The one thing that could use some help would be the wait times. If your appointment is for 2:45, which mine is right now (I'm in the waiting room right now as I type), it's currently 3:16 and I have yet to be called in, then, you will wait more in the examination room. It's not that big of a deal for me, but I know others may be on a time schedule and my not have time to dilly-dally. If you know what to expect, you can plan accordingly.

The check-in staff are nice enough, but once you are waiting to be seen, there seems to be very little interest in hearing the patient's history or listening when you try to explain why the situation is concerning. My husband does not always present like a typical cardiac patient, which makes his history especially important. On previous visits here, he has ultimately been admitted and required serious cardiac intervention, including emergency procedures and valve surgery. Once we actually get back to the ER doctors, our experience has been very different. The physicians have provided good, quality care. My concern is getting to that point. If this weren't the closest hospital to our home, especially during a possible cardiac event, I'm not sure we would continue coming here. There is a large sign warning patients that aggressive behavior toward staff will not be tolerated. I completely understand and support protecting hospital employees. At the same time, after sitting here again and watching how frustrated people become when they feel unheard, I think compassion and communication need to go both ways. We are currently here again, sitting in a mostly empty waiting room, so I will update this review as our visit progresses.

Then show you that your numbers are low and recommend testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) which involves 1 bottle of prescription testosterone and syringes you can use at home. All for just $400 plus the blood test. So what about when you're done with the bottle? Another blood test and another $400 bottle. So no regular blood testing, no follow up and no discussion of whether you'd like to continue the shots or how to recover if you'd like to discontinue. Apparently if you discontinue TRT your body needs special meds to recover back to normal testicle function. They will not help you with this. Only interested in selling you another $400 bottle.

They wanted to get me on their treatment right away. But I was hesitant because of how expensive the treatment is. They don't let you self-administer, so it's a co-pay each time. When you have to see them frequently, that adds up. To give you an idea on how expensive the convenience is, if you were to do HCG monotherapy with the clinic it would set you back about $400/month. If you decide to self-administer, HCG mono would cost less than $30/month. For me, a co-pay is $30. So bi-weekly injections would be $240/month. If i self-administer, ten weeks work of test will set me back $35. So that's $14/month. In total, I'm saving myself over $7500 a year by doing self-injections of HCG and test. So if you can't stand the thought of giving yourself injections than this place will work for you. If you think you can handle it, you could save yourself a lot of money by finding a doctor who will let you self-administer.

I went in and came out so much worse, and with debt I did not consent to. The things I saw in the ward were hugely detrimental to my mental health and I had a doctor who threatened to keep me in the ward longer for requesting to be discharged on the weekend as my assigned psychiatrist was away on vacation. He said he would put on my file I threatened to harm my family, I reported him to the social worker. Do not seek medical attention for suicidal ideation at this facility, it was one of the worst decisions of my life. I just wanted resources and options as being low income it is difficult to find mental health services for a reasonable price. They charged my insurance 22k for 6 days, many of which could've been avoided had my assigned psychiatrist been available. They drug you on SSRIs and anxiety medication and think group activities will somehow help you. Instead they make you realize how broken our healthcare system is. Supposedly this is a non profit but they didn't work with me at all on payments as they changed their policy after I sent in my paperwork and required me to pay more than I could afford. Only light in that ward were my nurse Dolly and ny social worker. Only decent people I came across who were not desensitized.
