Methodist Richardson Regional Medical Center
Dr. Jeremy S. Carrasco, M.D. (General and Laparoscopic Surgery) Methodist Richardson Regional Medical Center is recommended by Dr. Clothier; at this time in which Jean complied and set the appointment to confirm. Dr. Carrasco makes first examination of Jean as she explains her pain and the area in which it seems to be coming from, Dr. Carrasco reviews Jeans history and file folder from Dr Clothier office. .Jan.17t.h. Jean is scheduled for consultation with:
Dr. Sripathu R. Kethu, M.D., F.A.C.G. Gastroenterology Heptology
Methodist Richardson Regional Medical Center, Richardson, Texas
Jan.21th. Meet with specialist Dr. Kethu who recommends that a G.I. Test is performed. At which time he then obliges to extend an additional examination (on his own, which was "not mention" by any other of the proceeding doctors) which would probe the "Lower Bowel". Not given the opportunity to discuss or consult with Dr. Carrassaco she is now faced with the increased and un-additional extra pressure to give approval (she is still in pain) Jean reluctantly complies.
Jan. 23th. Friday: 11:00 to 4:00p.m. Upper and Lower G. I. Test Done
Dr. Kethu informs me after procedure everything looked fine she only showed one-polyp which was removed, to which then I proceeded to return to my wife's bedside and wait, she still seemed to be suffering from a lot of abdominal pain. At this time Jean is throwing up and running a fever. I questioned the nurse about what was wrong, and was told it was due to the pressure from the air-bubble in which they induce for inflating to manipulate the probe. This discomfort continued for a longer time than what we were told it normally takes. Both doctor and nurse said it would pass after a short time, releasing her from the hospital. At this time we proceeded directly home, to which she promptly, still suffering pain proceeded to go to bed. Through the night and into next early morning, at which time Jean is still throwing up and in much pain and it still running a fever.
Jan. 24th. Sat. morning: 7:30 A.M.
I call Dr. Kethu and tell him of her continuing pain which was still causing undue pressure and pain to which she did not ever go to sleep that night had not dissipated. His comment to me (Rick) "there was nothing in the procedure that would have caused this lasting pain to which she had previously described to him before leaving the hospital "to which then he thinks I should take her to the emergency room and see what they think is the problem. My son and I take Jean to emergency and I (rick) do my best to describe what took place and describe in my laymen type terms what was done and what the doctor had told me, and here we are. Jean is still in pain with no let up; Dr on staff in E.R. administered some pain medicine and proceeds to investigate the past 12 hours before, in the meantime.
I wait, and watch my wife lying in the E.R. unable to even hold her head up without a lot of abdominal pain in which has still not been determined what it is or what the cause is. I explain to Dr. on staff, (E.R) of the so called "simple test" of upper and lower G.I. that she was subjected to, he recommends x-rays immediately, after more time and waiting while sitting alone with my wife and praying a prayer, finally the E.R. Doctor comes in, says the negatives are not showing what is causing the picture to form a large mass, this means nothing to me, I ask what is going on? Jean is wheeled up to 4th. Floor, I am right by her side not about to leave, as soon as she is located in her new bed-placement Dr. Carrasco comes quickly rushing in, his face is one of concern, he talks to Jean and I and tells us both that he is "very concerned" and she needs "Emergency surgery Now" we are to say the least, shocked, how could this happen and what has happen to cause it. Dr. Carrasco says he thinks that the Lower Colon has been torn open which would be the reason the x-rays being unable to show the puncture or where. He then tells us both, by this time my wife is already suffer from euphoria, and cannot understand what is happening to her. Dr. C. also brings up the procedure, (as if it couldn't get any worse,) that surgery will have to go into what he calls an "Exploratory Surgery" Which will involve a clearing of the entire length of her bowel...Doctor Carrasco, then prays. Dr. Kethu comes by and said he cannot understand what the problem is nor can he tell from the x-rays where the blood is coming from, he then tells us, he is "out of the loop" and will leave further decisions to what would be done to Dr. Carrasco. (Leaves hosp.) 11:ooa.m. Sat.
Jean is taken to operating room to have what is now called "exploratory surgery," the cause of the bleeding is still un-determined, based on what we were told "was a simple test" ... read more
