So I've been trying out different fitness locations and this one was close to home so I decided to…read moretry it out. I signed up for the hot yoga class at around 10am a couple Sundays ago. The location is right off the street so it's really easy to park near the parking garage and walk around to the front. When I walked in I noticed a clean lobby area with merchandise to sell. It was clean and tidy and well lit. I always love to walk into a clean lobby area especially before a fitness class. I met the person at the desk who happened to be the teacher and she had me fill out a waiver since it was my first time and she also introduced me to the studio space. She explained a little about what the various supplies were for and where the bathroom was. Now, there were only 4 other students in the class which was so great to get that personalized experience and she was a great yoga instructor. The only reason im giving it 4 stars is because when I saw "hot yoga" I thought I would be dripping with sweat. Instead, there were three space heaters along the wall that really didn't translate to hot yoga at all. But I want to give credit to the teacher who was a great instructor and I would be more than willing to come do their barre classes or other courses available! I would recommend for sure! But if you're looking for that sweaty hot yoga session, this wouldn't be the place.

I tried out my first class which was free, and there were only a few other ladies at the 6am class,…read moreso I got a lot of personal attention and guidance from the instructor, Elizabeth. The class started with a 10 minute warm up followed by 3 15-minute "blocks" of activities that focused on arms, legs, and core strength. We then finished with some light stretching and yoga poses. I was expecting more exercises using the bar given the studio name, but we only used it for the 15 minutes working on the thigh exercises. As a first time visitor with no experience in ballet, I was still able to keep up and perform the exercises. I especially appreciated how Elizabeth gave many tips on good form and which muscles to focus on, but I would've liked if she had provided modified versions of the activities (she only offered more difficult variations). Overall, the class had very balanced, holistic exercises that would be great for runners, climbers, and anyone looking for hip-opening exercises or ways to develop more well-rounded strength. Membership is $139/month ($125/month for students), and after the free first class, there is also a $49 2-week trial option. Those options include unlimited classes, but you can also get 6-class and 8-class packs for about $100-125.

The workouts are fire! You don't realize how hard you're working when you are literally moving in inch increments. The instructors are incredibly helpful with your form, so you constantly get the best workout, leading to the best results. Night and day difference. I absolutely love this studio; I love these girls and love this community! If you are looking for something new, looking to be challenged, a new community of uplifting, powerful individuals, then look no further. You already found it. I am not going to lie; these classes are not easy, but you can do it, and no one wants an "easy" workout. People of all ages and all sizes take these classes. We may be at different levels of our workouts, but everyone is 100% capable of doing PB. The magic is in the small, tiny, INCH (literally an inch, think of a ruler, an INCH) movements. The way you build muscle and core strength overtime is insane! I can't explain it; you just have to do it. Each class is different than the day before keeping classes exciting and not burned out. Each class is about 50 mins long and I promise, you will be 'inching' for more, later. If you read this entire review, just take a class. I know you're hooked :)

Like hearing the instructor over the music, understanding how to transition into certain moves, and of course not know that Black Barre Challenge can only be completed if you completed it every month of the whole year. To start with they have something called a "Foundations" class. The goal is teach you the basics done throughout a "Classic" Barre class. Im assuming also that you should have an idea of their infamous position "the tuck" somewhat down by the time you leave. There is a tour and you should leave with a basic understanding of Pure Barre is about. At this class they should probably go over in depth the "Black Barre Challenge". I didn't know about this until I was two months into the studio. I left the class thinking that was simple but I knew they advertised as a gym that is "high intensity, with low impact". Low impact was essential since I am still healing from a spinal injury. Here lies the issue there are tons of bending and twisting motions that have to completed during classes. Which consist of: Classic: Basic Total Body Workout Empower: All about the Cardio Reform: All the Resistance Feels I was getting discouraged because I wasn't feeling a lot of the moves at the bar because I couldn't bend far. Therefore I was happy after talking to my Orthopedic surgeon about the difficulties I was facing. He explained its because I haven't been rehabilitated fully yet. After physical therapy I will be ready to go and could start rebuilding my core with Barre! Happy to hear the news because I specifically went on a monthly membership which I was told I "COULD CANCEL AT ANYTIME". BTW when you sign the documentation it's all on their computer so DO NOT take the representatives word on explaining how the membership works. It's a 31 day process. You will be out of a months dues. To give you an idea if their membership is 169.00. When I first called to email their emails came back with delivery issues and now than there is just a game of phone tag back and forth. Today the pulled for the FULL amount of dues after playing phone tag back and forth the past three weeks. In all honesty I'm just so disappointed with this studio. I would've returned after six weeks of PT had they just cared about their customers enough to call or email us back.

Patricia taught my class and let me tell you, these small incremental moves really do pack a punch. Days later my legs were still jello. She was so kind and was great a cueing. I love when an instructor isnt judgemental but is helpful and inspirational and she was all of those things. The women in class were nice. It seems like many of them have been going there snd are familiar with one another. After class a few women made it a point to talk to me and made me feel welcome. It gives off a very community driven location which is something we should all be looking for in a fitness studio.

The Bar Method is the first and (so far) only place that has motivated me enough to stay consistent with a workout routine. Before choosing The Bar Method, my workout buddy and I had tried other Barre/Pilates places. What made me choose The Bar Method over the others to start: -the amazing promos and affordable pricing; have to be mindful with budgeting in this economy y'all (send me a message if you want a comparison chart LOL fr) -honest; transparency with pricing and information, unlike some others -flexibility; there is NO membership sign up fee, there is NO membership cancellation fee, there is NO minimum commitment, they allow membership freezing for up to 3 months (just let them know the month before) WITHOUT a freeze fee for 2 times a year, there is no penalty for class cancellation 2 HOURS before class starts (there IS a fee if you cancel after this window and/or if you no-show, but you can call before class to explain if there is an emergency and they are understanding in these cases), and you can come to class 10 minutes late max (DO NOT make a habit of this tho!! I only mention this because other places lock their doors as soon as class starts) -variety of class start times; 6am-5:45/7pm M-Th, 6am-12:15pm Fri, 8:15-10:30am Sat, 9:30-11:30am Sun as of May 2025 What made me stay: -"low impact, high reward"; this is in their website and it is true, you feel the burn/shakes/soreness without doing exaggerated movements and you WILL get a WHOLE BODY work out while they guide/direct you on proper form as well as emphasize strategies to ensure your joints/back are protected at all times -improved overall strength, balance, posture, and mental health; the Bar Method has truly become my happy place, plus my knees no longer crackle-pop while climbing up the stairs! -variety of classes; bar method, cardio, strength, bar flow (like yoga), then some include restore (stretching) and some combos (30/30) -ALL of the instructors, which includes the owner; they know your name by your first class and onwards, are genuinely nice, will challenge you in the best way possible, and celebrate YOU (such as class milestones/your birthday) -the community; you truly feel like a part of the Bar Method Family Fun bonuses: -happy hours -special member classes every so often; sometimes themed -monthly challenges and raffles; I love me sum free socks and goodies heehee TL;DR, I love the Bar Method and you will too. Give it a try!

Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.

It was a really welcoming environment from right when I walked in. Lynn, our class instructor, showed me to the cubbies and explained everything after I got checked in. She was so kind to give me a heads up about the class format which was super nice to know. In the 90 minute class there's no music and it's all spoken instruction and timing through 26 movements (I think that was the number). It was a much different setup then any other yoga class I've been in so it was really nice to know that beforehand. The way Lynn instructed was very matter of fact- she knew the names of all the participants well, even myself as a first timer. Some may have taken it a wrong way when she calls your name to correct your form, but once you get used to it it was actually really nice. She paid close attention to everyone in the room even though it was full, to make sure everyone was getting the most out of it. I really appreciated the corrections as I still don't know a lot of the verbiage with yoga flow so I got lost at different points but Lynn always patiently pointed me to the correct direction. My class members were so supportive and even though 90 minutes in a hot room was so hard, it felt amazing after. They do have showers there as well so you can clean off right away after class. They offer the normal 60 minute hot yoga, hot pilates classes, and a few other things. It seems like a great community here that I'll definitely try to come back to even though I don't live in the Orlando area!
