We wanted the dinner to feel like we were throwing a dinner party for our friends and family at a favorite restaurant. And we wanted the food to be delicious and interesting and to generally reflect what's great about eating in Northern California in the summer. We were looking for a caterer that, like a great restaurant, had their own strong culinary vision and that we could trust to create a great meal rooted in their own style and sensibilities. TLDR on this review is that Potliquor is exactly that and so much more: incredible culinary visionaries; incredible cooks; lovely people, and a team that is damn good at the many, difficult, logistical aspects of planning and executing a gorgeous event. We had an initial call with Laura and Jennifer to discuss the budget, food preferences (what do we like to eat? is there anything we'd especially love to have on the menu?), and the venue details. We were really excited while talking to them and knew right away we had found our caterer. We followed up with a frantic list of other foods and themes we had forgotten to tell them we cared about (wild flowers! mushrooms! Jewish roots! Polish roots! biology!); I have no idea how they harnessed these stream of conscious ideas into a menu proposal, but they did and we loved it. The menu felt so personal - thoughtful and creative ideas that reflected our story and tastes. Having a custom menu created for us was easily our favorite part of wedding planning. Then we did a tasting a month before the event which was *also* our favorite part of wedding planning It was SO much fun to meet Laura and Naseem and collectively decide on a few tweaks to the menu, and of course, the food we tasted was delicious. Dinner at our wedding far exceeded our wildly high expectations. Our guests freaked out about it and so did we. We are all, still freaking out about it. Everyone says that you never get a chance to eat at your wedding but that was definitely not the case for us - we ate everything and it was so much fun. In keeping with the dinner party atmosphere, they served family style dishes that guests could share and enjoy together. All of the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Stable Cafe, where we hosted the wedding, has a wood burning fireplace, which Potliquor used to cook a delicious roasted vegetable and fava bean dish - it was impressive and very cool to use the unique cooking setup at the venue. Other highlights included the most delightful selection of breads; a stunning salad of locally sourced or foraged greens and flower; the fried maitake and vegetable appetizer that my mom talks about every single time we've talked on the phone for the last 3 months post-wedding; and definitely the roasted sea bass with red chermoula ---- a beautiful and unique dish and one of the best fish dishes we've had. One other important note is that working with the Potliquor team was straightforward from start to finish - everyone we worked with was so helpful and friendly. I worked most closely with Laura who is completely on top of everything. Especially when things got a bit stressful towards the end of our extremely compressed planning timeline, I so appreciated her quick communication and attention to detail, and found myself trusting her judgement not just on aesthetic and culinary decisions but also about the many practical questions that arose. And the entire food and drink serving staff was delightful at the party. I didn't realize how integral the catering team would be from a planning perspective and feel that we really lucked out that they are so fantastic on the service & logistics end too. The upshot was a MASSIVE success according to everyone. Potliquor is just incredible; the perfect team and we feel beyond lucky that they catered our wedding.

Everything they made was delicious and all our guests raved about it for weeks! We wanted to serve food from a variety of different Asian cuisines and they were extremely open and receptive to our ideas even helping us cook up a Kamayan feast (with suckling pig!). Brittany and her team helped scour multiple bakeries to find the durian cake of our dreams and Chef Richie made the most delicious ramen for our late night snack menu at our wedding. Additionally Brittany has experience working as a pastry chef and went above and beyond helping us transport our fragile wedding cakes for an extremely windy 4 - 5 hour drive up Highway 1. She really put our minds at ease as we knew she could handle / fix any damage on the cakes.

Not only does she deliver wonderful cuisine from her culture -- you can tell that all her heart goes into each one of her recipes -- she is attentive and caring. She will work with you to make sure that your event, whatever it may be, goes smoothly and that her catering services meet your needs. On her site, she lists variety of services ranging from personal meals to larger gatherings. I had the pleasure of enjoying her food this past Sunday at a bigger event. I have a sweet tooth, so my favourite dishes were the chocolate filled baklava and Lebanese cannoli. But all of her food (Armenian cheese pies, hummus wraps, spring rolls with tabbouleh, date-filled cookies, and more included in the photos below) is amazing. She truly goes above and beyond to provide for specific dietary needs. There was much consideration for attendees who were gluten free and lactose intolerant. I packed home some of the food afterwards, and everyone at home has loved it as well! Honestly, don't take my word for it. Try her food for yourself!

From day 1, Teri has been a dream to work with. For the hands-on type of couple that we are, she…read moreworked with us every step of the way. We were able to select and sample everything. This is everything that would be served at the wedding which included the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, the salad, the entrees, and desserts. We ended up not requesting the desserts from La Bocca Fina as we were sourcing desserts from a separate vendor. Once we had a sample menu set up, she invited us to come to the kitchen for a tasting of everything. We asked if we were to include a family member and she was able to accommodate. On the day of the tasting, we were invited into a small dining area and treated like guests in her home. Teri provided us tea and hot apple cider to start and served us dish after dish. She asked us all the right questions and answered all of ours. If there was any concerns or anything we did not like, she was able to substitute and accommodate. She was not stubborn but extremely flexible and completely understands that everyone's taste buds and palates are different. If we had a special request such as wanting to beets in our salad, she would suggest a variety of beets to incorporate more color. We were even able to request to substitute green beans with baby bok choy to go along with our sea bass over coconut infused jasmine rice. Since we were not completely satisfied with all of the appetizers that we sampled, she invited us to a second mini-tasting of additional appetizers where we happily selected the remainder of our menu. Once the food was decided, we had some minor homework which took us a while but eventually chose our dishware and table settings as Teri was in charge of taking care of the rentals for us. I am honestly surprised with how patient Teri is as I'm sure we went through a lot of back and forth before settling on our final items. She also helped us with the rental for a dance floor at the wedding venue as well. For our wedding, our top two things to prioritize was the venue and the food. The wife's was the venue and mine was the food. Everyone loved the food and I heard high praises for the lobster bisque soup sippers that were part of our cocktail hour. I was so nervous that I did not have the stomach to fully enjoy all the delicious food throughout the evening but I made the effort to at least take a bite into everything that was served. Teri was so wonderful throughout our interactions. She was responsive to our e-mails and shared her wisdom and experiences on what she has seen while working in the industry. Her expertise and attention to detail was what won us over even before tasting the food. The last thing that she did for us on the night of our wedding was set aside an extra pair of dinner and set of the each of the desserts we had ordered for our guests. This was so sweet of her and much appreciated as I was able to enjoy our wedding meal the next day when I regained some of my appetite. Teri is the caterer and pretty much a second wedding planner that you did not know you needed in your life. I have nothing but high praises to Teri and the team at La Bocca Fina.
