Okay, I'm going to let you in on a secret but please don't make me regret it. This place is high level. Like it's among the best in Portland type of high level. Granted I've only had these two slices, but I was floored. If this was just the start I'm so excited to try more. Might be providing a follow up review, but for now please just understand this place is an amazing, but also like don't blow it up and ruin it right? But like give these people your business, but also shhhhh we got to gatekeep a little bit. You know? Okay thanks! (4.8 Stars)

We have found Meta to be consistent and provide delicious pizza. The food was easy to order online and was ready at the time we were given. We ordered the sausage and peppers pizza, half cheese/half pepperoni pizza and a Caesar salad. The pizzas were great- good amount of fresh tasty toppings and barely any grease. The Caesar salad was pretty basic, could have used more dressing. We'll continue to keep Meta in our rotation of pizza places.

I wanted to check out Enthea Tea house...oh no...steps...but Meta Pizza had a sing that says... open and slices. I could see in the window a person seemed happy tossing the pizza dough which comes from Fleur de lis by the way. I checked out the slices...pepperoni was looking at me but I went for Grandma style. Three different sauces flavors that had my mind thinking about the flavors wait is this wine. A cozy place with a couple of inviting picnic tables outside. Inside the counter where you can stand and savor your selection. Reminds me of the bocadillo shops in Spain. Nice selection of condiments on a table near by. Jake the owner greeted me a welcoming place. Many to go orders passed through as I was enjoying my grandma's style slice. Great little spot with excellent pizza. Stop by have a slice take some to go.

PIZZA WEEK The Stissing House BBQ Chicken Pizza and Half & Half Pie of Brooklyn Raab and Sausage and Peppers
    Ploy N.

Got some pies from them recently and I really enjoyed thier topping combos. The Pizza Week Special one had tons of tender chicken and slightly tangy, spicy sauce. Delicious. Also really love how you can do half-and-half. The other pie was half Sausage & Peppers and Brooklyn Raab. The white sauce on the Brooklyn was nice but I thought the greens kinda threw the balance off a bit. The sausage was tasty though. Again, very generous on the protein. Dough was soft and had a good texture. Wish I could have had them fresher out of the oven. Prices were great and the person on the phone was super friendly. A solid takeout pizza spot!

I love some good pizza. Who doesn't? Meta Pizza has been around for a short time in the formally occupied space that was Pizza Doughnais. One of my favorite places in town prior to them closing. (side note, I hope the two of them come back with another pizza idea, I need some sfincione.) So the folks from Pizza Doughnais, on their IG feed, recommended Meta and granted it took me some time, and a recent stay at an AirBnB around the corner, to finally venture in. I'm glad I finally did. In an article last year?, the owner of Dimo's Apizza made mention of basing a good pizzeria by their margarita pizza. I grew up eating fresh garlic pizzas, so a maragarita with roasted garlic sounded like a plan. Good choice. The crust was right on par with places like Dimo's, Red Sauce and Pizza Thief. The sauce had a little sweetness to it but you got the full tomato taste and cheese and roasted garlic? A nice balance and bite. Overall, a solid pizza right up there with the upper echelon of PDX zah. I also got a seasonal salad that had baby arugula, roasted Delicata squash, goat cheese, balsamic syrup, lemon oil, black olive/hazelnut crumble. Really nice textures and tastes. The balsamic syrup was totally key. The also make a Ceasar salad. Meta Pizza is putting out some good product and they have several great pizza choices. They have a few vegetarian options along with sausage and peppers, pepperoni and a spicy lamb pizza. I'm sure that is quite interesting. Give them a try. Support local. Enjoy!

As I was visiting the Enthea Tea House for the first time this afternoon, I was surprised to I see the Meta pizza shop sign hanging from the next building on the street. It's been on my "to try" list since reading a very positive review in Eater. After the "tea course" I stopped by and ordered their recommended lamb sausage pizza, a personal order hot from the oven! To me, a perfect crust: thin enough not to dilute the flavor of the toppings, the bottom cooked to a crisp that gave a gratifying crunch and supported a good quantity of toppings. The lamb sausage with feta was outstanding, the inclusion of green olives an inspiration. Cooking dampened the bold green olive flavor just enough and added the perfect tangy bite. The only improvement that I would suggest would be cutting a bit back on the salt and adding a little more sun dried tomato. Ready-made, by-the-piece pizza options were available at the counter. The guys behind the counter were cheerful, informative and very pleasant to talk with. The shop seemed to be doing a brisk take-out business, which I was glad to see. It's unsuitable for sit-down dining: no inside tables and only a couple of outdoor picnic tables, which will be in high demand during warm weather.

Meta Pizza is yummy! The crust is what I am most interested in - remarkably light, flavorful, slightly chewy with a nice lil crispy crunch. Small, thoughtful selection of some classics. Go for the grandma slice or pie- the pesto is delish! Great for a single slice or a pie. Casual, fun, energetic atmosphere with a couple tables outside and fast, friendly service!

We tried the 2024 Pizza Week slice here - The Stissing House BBQ Chicken . This was tasty, but it could have had a bolder flavor, even just more of the bbq sauce. The hot honey definitely improved it.

I wasn't expecting much from Meta as I haven't heard much about them in the pizza scene, but they sure aren't the underdog! I gave them a chance during Portland Pizza week and I wasn't disappointed! They are a small store front in SE Portland with a couple bar seats inside and picnic tables outside. A small, yet mighty crew working in a small kitchen, they work together like a well oiled machine. We were quoted a 45 min wait for a full pizza, but it was closer to 30! Their pizza week special was delicious! Beef cheek, bolognese, basil aioli - the flavors were hearty and worked together oh so well. The beef cheek was tender, smoky, garlicky, and the bolognese was rich, balancing out the meaty-ness of the beef. OMG the bail aioli! It was like a creamy pesto, and it made the pizza. It was like I was eating pasta on a pizza...if that makes sense. Wowie. I hope they bring this pizza back some time. I did think the crust was a bit too done for my liking, but the taste and texture were on point. Meta brings their A-game, and I can't wait to be back.

Came by for a vegan slice today which was perfectly crusty with solid flavor. I hadn't been in a while and was craving a slice. It was super tasty! The staff were very friendly, and I love the rock music in the background. Note it's takeout only with a few picnic tables out front. You can't order slices online from their website it seems, but you can always walk in. They generally have four pizzas ready for all your slice needs!

Great pizza and fun vibe. They have a small but great wine list and beer on tap. We like to go for slices and order pizzas for delivery.

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips.
