The Cait

I've been here a few times, the food is fantastic, the drinks are great and the people go about and beyond and are so kind! On several occasions I felt like they really went out of their way to be extra hospitable and we really appreciated it! Here's a photo of The Cait, I cannot believe I had the restraint to wait and take this photo before digging in

Small breakfast and lunch spot packs a big punch of flavor! BYO. They're happy to customize your order. They can seat up to 9 people, but also do a lot of Take-Out with area residents and shopkeepers. A clean and comfortable interior lends itself to lingering.

This was In such a cute town. The food was delicious and the service was very good and friendly.

Turkey on the left, ham on the right. Fantastic flavors and delicious bread!

Spectacular sandwiches!!! I have been twice and am an official fan! Both times I shared 2 sandwiches with a friend and they were all unbelievable. One of them made my friend exclaim that it was the best she'd ever had. I didn't realize that there had been a change in ownership a few days after my July visit, but learned from the new, and very nice, proprietor in August that the transition was smooth and the menu remained the same. Don't miss this spot for a quick amazing lunch (I'm sure breakfast qualifies, as well)!

Lovely place! Amazing statf! Really accommodating and kind about dietary restrictions.

Food and service was great! I ordered the chorizo and egg with hot honey. The chef in the back was so personable and made sure everything was as we would like it (asked how we like our eggs, what kind of bread, etc.) as if we were the only ones there. I was not a fan of the slice of chorizo but I was expecting a different cut. Overall, great!

The best breakfast sandwiches on either side of the river. Great coffee too. A lot of attention and care goes into everything they serve here.

Amazing food and good service quite away from the street noises! 10/10 would recommend.

Wow. Not too many choices & total satisfaction with those choices. The Philly muffin is as magical as the eggs & fixings.

Music with profanity played while we were there. Not kid friendly. Sandwich was ok. Comes with no sides so a bit pricey.

Two words: Breakfast Sandwich!…read more Cafe Duet is a great little spot tucked away by the Monroe County Courthouse. They have great coffee, pastries, small bites, and lunch options. The breakfast sandwich is phenomenal! As their menu states, it consists of "two organic eggs, split and grilled Spanish chorizo, sharp cheddar cheese and baby arugula on a fresh baked roll w/ a touch of sriracha mayo." The eggs are cooked perfectly! The contrast of the cheddar against the chorizo and sriracha mayo is wonderful and the peppery arugula comes through at the end. I would eat one every morning if my wallet/waist could afford it! The cafe is both large and small (you'll really only understand if you go) but I never have an issue finding somewhere to sit. In the warmer months, it's really nice to sit outside in their patio area. The staff is always accommodating and the place is well kept. Sometimes you wait a bit for things but it's never super long and they are pretty good at keeping you in the loop if there's an issue. Definitely a great spot worth checking out!

The coffee to milk ratio was good and the chocolate flabor was not too overpowering- it still tasted like a latte and not hot chocolate. It wasn't watered down, and was still rich and creamy. The americano was a good cup- straight to the point and robust. We also had the banana nut bread and the pistachio-cranberry-white mocha chip biscotti. Both pastries were pretty good. Some tables had ordered hot food like waffles and soups, which looked pretty good and we might try this place out for a snack or breakfast in the future. Interior is pretty with plants, a record player playing jazz, and clean tables and chairs. Service is friendly, interior is old world charm, coffee and pastries are great. Public parking, ccs, Apple Pay. Public metered parking. Would recommend!

They were very sweet and happily accommodated our 7mo old daughter with a highchair (and buttered rigatoni!). Our reservation was a 6:15, and we were promptly seated in a beautiful part of the dining room. They had vases full of garlic scapes, peonies, hydrangeas. The decor and ambiance was beautiful. On each table, they had a small vase of fragrant herbs. The dinner is $95 and three courses. We chose from an entree list of duck confit, hake, and summer risotto. We chose the hake and duck to share, The first course was an herby salad with little gem lettuce, bacon, and crispy croutons. I love an herby salad so this was very delicious. The hake with hollandaise sauce and asparagus was good perfectly, it was a really delicious, plump piece of fish. The Eaton mess for dessert was fabulous. Berry preserves, berry sorbet, vanilla ice cream, and merengue. A winning combination. I definitely recommend as a destination restaurant along this cute Delaware River town. PS it's BYOB!

The food, however, was something of a disappointment; for a restaurant with this many accolades and a very small menu, I would not expect the confit to be dried out or the sole to be dry and mealy. I love almond cake, but again, it had five minutes too long in the oven. Felt the chef's attention was not on their timing.
