Vanilla has some of the most exquisite cuisine ever. Their breakfast menu doesn't have a singular bad item and their drinks are always top notch (they're also served in large, beautiful mugs). The service is elite, with bilingual waiters/waitresses that can accommodate Russian and English speakers. Always very polite. Finally, the place is very beautiful. If you're a fan of salmon and avocado, the salmon avocado croissant sandwich is delicious and worth ordering. The chicken sandwich, on the other hand, was pretty plain--I would skip that next time. The real stars, though, are the homemade desserts. They are almost too pretty to eat! The apple dessert was absolutely incredible, with a light mousse and refreshing lychee fruit inside. The strawberry was just as amazing, filled with berry mousse that was fresh, light, and full of flavor. Both were outstanding. The peanut butter dessert was good, but it just couldn't compete with the apple and strawberry. At $8.50 each, these desserts are worth every penny. My family and I came across this place while looking for dessert, and we're so glad we did. The desserts were delicious, the presentation was beautiful and very eye-catching, and the space itself was unique and definitely Instagram-worthy. The place is fairly big, but it was a bit unclear where to go at first since people were gathered right by the entrance admiring the floor. We were quickly seated by a waiter, and service was good overall. We ordered a mango passion fruit tea and two desserts (mango and blueberry). Food - 3 stars and service 1-1.5 stars. This place is IG worthy, and their Somerton location is popular and wanted to try. I happened to be in New Hope, and I found out they have a New Hope location, so I went here instead. From the get go it was obvious they were understaffed. There was one worker who had us wait at the front for about five minutes before acknowledging us. She did apologize and explain at the end when we paid that most of the regular staff was out sick. We ordered the truffle fries, French Toast, Chicken sandwich, Benedict, dessert (mango and strawberry mousse), and some drinks. While we were waiting for our food the servers kept on bringing us wrong food (meant for other tables). I specifically ordered their house coffee, and they brought an espresso shot in a mug with hot water in a teapot. That's an Americano, which was a separate menu item. I said I did not order that, and the server insisted I ordered it. I told them I ordered their house coffee, which I presumed to be drip coffee, and they said this is how they serve it as it was "basically the same thing." I would have been okay if they said they are out of their drip coffee and this is the best they can do, but I found this behavior odd and dishonest. The food was mid, pricey for their portion (ex. my Benedict came on a dinner plate which accentuated the small portion size; the photo does not do justice). The best, most reliable dish we ordered was probably the truffle fries. Adding a star because the dessert was good. The strawberry was a favorite in my group, and the decor is also done nicely. However, I got the impression this place was trying to compensate for the mediocre food and service by focusing on pretty tableware and vibes. It is Instagrammable for sure. The place was really cute and towards the door there are window seats that r good for flics. I had the mango, blueberry, strawberry, and wet apple cake and here is my honest opinion: the strawberry was the best one, the mango and wet apple were unfortunately heinous, and the blueberry was fine. They all look great presentation wise but the actual taste was hit or miss. The matcha was mid, but I am definitely someone who likes a strong matcha taste which is why I didn't care too much for it. We came for a coffee on Valentine's Day and they were packed. A lot of people had reservations but they were able to seat us. We ordered a dessert, and two espresso based milk drinks. 1st visit - and I HOPE so much to return soon!! Service was friendly, enjoyed their sweet treats and cafe mocha. I tried a strawberry (mousse) dessert. It was sweet and fresh tasting. My husband had the shakshuka and said it was fresh & light (and that he would definitely have it again). The decor is just too cute here too. My only suggestion for improvement would be to lower the music volume ever so slightly. I am so happy we came here, it was a memorable spot to visit. read more

We love it here and come at least once or twice a month. The desserts are beautiful and delicious. Their brick oven pizza is better than most places we have tried. The coffees and teas are too notch. Yesterday, my 15-month-old daughter and I spent the day visiting New Hope. After an emotional week, we decided to stop at The Vanilla Café. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was amazing - you could tell that every detail of the space had been thoughtfully designed. It was a busy Saturday afternoon during lunchtime, and after I sat down, a very kind young waitress came over to apologize that all of their high chairs were currently in use. Normally, that wouldn't have been a big deal, but after a draining week -- learning that my grandfather is dying of cancer - and a day that hadn't gone quite as planned, I just broke down. I felt defeated and was ready to drive the three hours home. The waitress was so kind and said she'd check the basement just in case there was another high chair. Then John, the manager, came over, apologized sincerely, and showed such compassion. His kindness was unmatched, and he went above and beyond to make things right - even though it wasn't the restaurant's fault at all. We ended up leaving for about twenty minutes so I could collect myself, and when we returned, we had the most wonderful lunch. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. What started as a hard moment turned into such a meaningful reminder of how a little kindness can completely change someone's day. read more

Ambiance very cool and good Food was ok - not great not bad However, the service was not what I expected from a restaurant in New Hope. Our dinners came out unevenly, whereas 2 of our party was finishing their meals, the 3rd got his late and was partially done. My meal was nowhere to be found. Awkward and disappointing. After I received mine, not even an apology. and that was the last we saw her, no offers of desert. I rarely post Yelp reviews but I need to express how disappointed we were in our lunch here. I frequently eat in restaurants all throughout New Hope and Lambertville and this was, by far, the worst meal I've had in a long time. Both lunches took forever to be delivered to the table and, when they did, the food was cold. A pot of hot tea had no strainer so when it was poured into the cup, all the tea leaves were also there. One lunch had a small plastic cup on the plate with it. Inside the cup were a pair of black latex gloves ( like your doctor would use when giving you a rectal exam). I am not joking. We were told it was to use for a sloppy, wet sandwich. Finally, the prices are insane..$20 for a tuna fish sandwich. One and done for me. Both of us are actually feeling queasy after eating there earlier. read more

Services was terrible. Greeted by the host who said he could seat us then one by one each waiter came to me to ask if they can help and I stated waiting for a table your host said he would seat. Then the last waiter came to us to tell us NO. There were plenty of empty tables. The worst part was them speaking in another language in front of us arguing about not telling us no from the beginning. All very uncomfortable and rude. We love the original Vanilla Cafe, so it was a must for us to check out the new location. Decor was set cute as always. However we were disappointed and I would say highly concerned for a few reasons. 1. Ordered tuna tartar, it came out with Tuna being pretty much grey color in most of the pieces. In fear of food poisoning, I asked to please take back, if there is no fresh tuna, I'll order something else. They brought out second plate, it looked better. I felt bad to send dish back again, but now I'm actually very sick on the ride home. CONCERN is for lack of quality control and comfort with serving spoiled food. And they actually didn't offer to take it off the bill by the way, a standard practice. 2. The flavor of our other dishes was very flat (we also had mushroom soup and burger). Which again we love the original location dishes. Everything is delicious there, so not sure what happened with chef assignment here. Burger was very basic flavor wise. I've always gotten the desserts from this place and they are both cute and delicious. I've tried a few but the mango one and the coconut one are my favorite. Normally I would have to go all the way to Philadelphia for desserts like this, so I am very happy to have this in New Hope read more
