This time, I decided to stay at Mesquite, NV which is about 40 miles south of St. George or about 80 miles north of Las Vegas. Hotwire led me here as I like surprise:XD Upon walking in the lobby, my first impression was...is this the retirement home!? the interior has that old fashioned style, wide hallway with tiles instead carpet on the first floor, a library...etc I got suite #210, which is exactly like a one bedroom apartment with full sized kitchen, dining table, living room, bed room, walking in closet and a full sized bath. It's spacious! I assume this property was designed for assistant living and later changed to a hotel. It's freaking hot in Mesquite, NV even after the sun goes down. The air was still hot like inside the oven. The ac worked really well and of course this place is very quiet. The next morning, after checking out, I was on the way heading home. While pulling onto the 15 freeway I all the sudden remembered I left my charging cable in the room! Drove back from the next freeway exit, I told the front desk lady and she immediately made me a key to go up to the room to retrieve my cable. When I got there, the housekeeper was already outside and handed me my cable. If you are not looking for anything fancy, modern and elaborate, this is a good place! For clean, classic and awesome rate, I can see myself coming back for another good night sleep:) P.s there's no charging port on the bedside table, I had to unplug the alarm clock and that's how I forgot my cable :XD

Kitchens and living rooms in each suite (studio, one-bedroom, or two bedroom), well-maintained grounds: two pools, one heated, one with waterfall, hot tub, shuffleboard and tennis courts, nice sitting areas inside or outside the hotel. Each suite is furnished differently by separate owners, but whether a studio, 1- or 2-bedroom, all come with a fully furnished kitchen right down to the dishes/flatware and spatulas, pots & pans, toaster and coffee maker. If traveling with a group, or for extended stays, there's comfortable sitting areas on each floor, a library with fireplace, and a laundry room on 2nd and 3rd floors (bring your own detergent). Best of all, the price is comparable to a common one-room motel room at other motels. You couldn't ask for a better bargain. We very much enjoyed our stay! Will stay again.

I know nothing about Mesquite, but my best friend's grandparents live here. I'm going to be completely honest and straightforward here, I liked Eureka MUCH better than Casablanca, where we stopped at heading towards Utah. Compared to Casablanca, Eureka looks a lot newer and they have a lot more options and stuff to do. I had read after our trip that Eureka had gone under renovations about two years ago and they plan to build more retail stuff around it in the future. They have endless slot machines inside and they have a pretty big sportsbook, although I've seen bigger before. I did consider playing one of the slot machines since I had cash on me, but I didn't go for it. Being a Vegas local that has been inside so many casinos, I don't gamble or play slot machines all that much. Going forward, if we ever take another road trip to Utah, Eureka will be our permanent stop.

We headed over on a Saturday night around 9pm. The casino was hopping with lots of people hanging out inside gambling. I did find two of my favorite machines & had to hit them up. One was Lobstermania & I got to play for awhile on it but didn't walk away with any money. The machine was buy some doors into the casino & we got hit with a cold breeze every time the door was opened. We then ventured to the center bar for some drinks & to play video poker & keno. Bartenders were nice. Next I hit up another favorite game of mine, a devil game. Then I hit up the Black Jack table for some fun, it was hot for awhile then it wasn't. Then we hit up the electronic craps game because the craps table was full. I'm new to craps but my friend knows how to play it so he was helping me. We spent a lot of time there & the cocktail waitresses were very attentive. The ladies bathroom wall tile is very pretty. The casino was clean, didn't stink of cigarette smoke & looked new. Very nice casino & I can't wait to go back!

I can never get tired of seeing the amazing Virgin River Gorge while driving to St George, Utah or…read moreback to Las Vegas on I-15 freeway. When you exit from the freeway, park your vehicle in the parking lot. You can spend the day easily here! Taking a refreshing walk especially during the spring/winter or fall when the weather is cooler is ideal. Summertime temperatures are high and you can get heat stroke easily if you normally don't have experience with the desert conditions/temperatures. Down the river, there is a place where you can sign up for some water sports, like kayaking. I didn't do that yet but it is on my list. So I definitely return for just kayaking here!

Mesquite Airport was a refuge and oasis in the desert for us weary travelers. We stopped by here…read morerecently during a journey from Utah to southern CA. There was quite a headwind causing overconsumption of gas and we needed a place to fill up. When we landed, there was not a human in sight. We looked around the premises, desperately hoping to see a vending machine or anywhere we could purchase a chilled beverage. We foolishly hadn't brought liquids on our flight due to having small bladders and no restroom on the plane. We did have wide mouth bottles on-hand in case of an emergency, but there was concern that stage freight might make use of those quite challenging. After searching around for several minutes, we discovered a Pilot's Lounge, to our great delight. Inside was an air conditioned room with a sofa and clean bathrooms. It also had chilled beverages and and some savory snacks. It was all available based on the honor system, so we put some dollar bills in the box and also sent a small Venmo to the proprietor. We were able to rest from our labors whilst eating some chips and drinking some chilled diet beverages. I would like to offer one opportunity for improvement. The only snacks were chips, which were quite unhealthy. Perhaps some protein bars or granola bars might be a nice option in the future. A pack of string cheese would also be nice.

And the big lagoon/pool is really cool, but the flooring is kind of run down, and there's not enough shade on the artificial "beach." Also, unfortunately, the other activities in the community weren't well advertised, so we didn't learn about the movie nights and such until we were heading for home. I would come back, but I would also look at other housing options in St. George for a family vacagtion.

The kids absolutely loved the bunk beds, which made the trip even more fun for them. The lagoon is stunning and definitely one of the highlights of the community. The only downside for us was that the water was extremely cold. If you're someone who gets sick easily from going between hot weather and cold water, it's something to keep in mind. One thing that could be improved was the bedding. We weren't sure if the sheets had been changed before our arrival because we were itchy throughout our first night. We also really enjoyed the community pool at the end of our stay. Just a heads up: make sure everyone has their wristband, as they do check before allowing guests to enter. Overall, despite a couple of minor issues, we had a wonderful family getaway and would definitely come back.

First, you NEED to make a reservation before going…read more I never knew we had a ranch with 30 Camels, Alpacas, a Llama, New Guinea Singing Dogs, a Two Toed Sloth, an African Crested Porcupine, a Donkey and a few other animals about an hour outside of Las Vegas. Guy the owner, an amazing bank of knowledge, he knows so much about each animal and more. He is a little rough around the edges and some may think him rude; you try to manage a 176 acre ranch with well over 60 animals who have to be fed daily, not so easy... The Camels have a diet of lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples; the sloth has a special diet which includes egg whites, the ranch dogs get the yolk as a daily treat and they know when that's coming. So in addition to taking care of all the animals, the ranch which is 176 acres, there are also tours to manage. So show him a little appreciation for what he does every day, seven days a week, etc... You can do camel rides, an ATV experience, a zoo tour on a tram, it's not easy and I feel for him so if you go out there, understand his personality has to be rough to deal with all this. Also understand, each animal has its own personality and feelings. Yesterday, Norm a camel used for rides was having a bad day. He was not in the mood for riders. I first tried to ride Norm, he was calm getting his saddle on but once I got on him, he was nope. When Allie got me off of Norm, Norm had an attitude with both Allie and Guy, Norm had to be put in a kennel which Norm was not happy about but needed a time out. So remember, dealing with 30 camels, mini horses, a Llama, Alpacas, a sloth, etc; they are dealing with a lot of different personalities and feelings in addition to people coming to visit. Safety is taken as a HIGH priority. These animals can inflict pain & even death, so I have a LOT of respect for Guy & Allie. They not only have to be concerned with adults but children as well. We arrived at 8:45 which is when the gate is opened, we met Allie and Guy along with another couple. We rode first and as I said Norm was not happy so I got off and they took my friend around the track. Upon coming back with my friend, a whole group showed up for the zoo tour so we were asked if we minded doing the zoo tour and then we will get back to the camel ride. No biggie... The zoo tour was amazing. We got on the tram and were taken to see every animal on the property stopping in each area, learning all about the animals in that area with the opportunity to ask questions, got to go in the kennel to feed the Llama and Alpacas, cool animals, petted the zebra, fed and petted the porcupine, got up close and personal with the sloth and just had an amazing experience. The knowledge gained yesterday was so cool. Once the zoo tour was over I got to ride Lodi. The camel ride was really cool, long and a really neat experience I would do again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go out and visit this Camel Safari. They need the support as they have a lot of mouths to feed daily and you will have an amazing experience in the Nevada desert.

This experience was unforgettable from start to finish in their 165 acre property. We kicked off the day with a short ride on Jafar, a stunning, gentle giant weighing nearly 3,000 pounds. ( love at first sight) After taking some amazing photos with him, he happily stayed nearby and spent the rest of the day with us. From there, we met several other camels and hopped on the tram, where more adventures were to be had . Along the way, we encountered so many incredible animals, more camels, a zedonk, llamas, alpacas, and miniature horses. One of the highlights was feeding Thorn, their adorable pet porcupine,grapes she was just the sweetest little girl. We also got to see New Guinea singing dogs (so cute!) and Ambien, their 20-year-old sloth, who was just as amazing to see in person as you'd imagine. Feeding the alpacas and llamas carrots was such a fun, hands-on experience. As if that wasn't enough, four friendly Ridgeback dogs casually joined us on the tram, roaming freely and adding even more charm to the day. Every animal we encountered was gentle, well cared for and clearly loved . I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this experience it was pure joy from beginning to end. If you've never met a camel, Ilama, or alpaca, you're missing out. These gentle creatures will absolutely fill your heart. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. When I was looking for management companies I wasn't too keen on hiring this company but they had…read morethe market cornered at that time and there were no other options. There are now. HIRE ANYONE OTHER THAN THIS COMPANY. They promised the moon and under delivered in almost every way. The general lack of effort, pride, attention to detail would be comical if it didn't cost me money. They do the BARE MINIMUM and charge 22.5% of revenue. They do lump all taxes and fees in that fee but they do not communicate or explain what is being charged when and why. The documents they send monthly must have been created by a child because they're virtually impossible to make sense of and when you do, if you're like me, you'll need to pull the numbers out and enter them in your own spreadsheet. If you have an issue (poor cleaning, which is a constant I've learned, landscaping that needs tending to, etc.) and you bring it up to them they will act as though they are surprised or that they'll get it taken care of and assure you that they will make it right. However, I cannot state this plainly enough, they will NOT address the issue. They WILL NOT make it right. The pool area of my home looks like a tornado ripped through town every time we've come down to stay and they are aware when we book time for ourselves as this must be done through the website they had made in the 1990s. You'd think they'd want to make sure the place was looking good when their clients visit, but no. They clearly just do not care enough to do anything about it. (Yes it gets windy here but not so much so that it would result in the mess that's always waiting for the next guests.) On top of that remotes will go missing. Garage door openers vanish. Among other stuff. They just expect you to buy replacements with no accountability on their end. Things do wear out so I asked them to let me know when something breaks or wears out and needs to be replaced, like patio umbrellas or patio furniture pillows which all take a beating in the summer sun. They assured me they would, they didn't. Last time we came down two of the three umbrellas were broken and tossed on the side of the house where they apparently like to throw anything they don't want to address or know what to do with. Apparently the junk yard if full. It's a joke how little they care. Bottom line. Hire anyone other than this company. They are terrible.
