Zion National Park Visitor Center - He is a fine looking man :D

Zion National Park Visitor Center

This is a nice visitor center! It is CROWDED but there's a lot of turnover. Plenty of bathrooms,…read morereasonably clean (for a national park). They do have a sizable parking lot but that lot gets full FAST so if you want to park there you have to come early (recommended to come at or before 7am). The shuttle picks up here of course and I came around 6:20am; I was in the line by 6:45 and it was already wrapping around several times at the platform but the buses are big and particularly in the morning a bunch of shuttles come minutes apart so I actually didn't wait more than 15 mins or so to board one (I was on shuttle #3 of the morning). The organization is impressive, it's good they do it this way because the canyon would absolutely be loaded with cars otherwise!

Took a trip to Zion's national Park in Utah. What a nice adventure and a great way to get out of…read morethe Arizona heat in the valley. The temperatures were literally 40° cooler in the mountains. I had an opportunity to get a permit to go up to Angels Landing. The hike is a rigorous hike because it's straight up uphill, but it's a beautiful walk. Highly recommend. The shuttles travel frequently and we were lucky enough to not hit the crowds. I've recommend getting the national Park pass so that you can use it on all national parks. It's only $10 more to get the universal pass than it is for entrance into just one part one time.

I attended the Pinners Conference on a whim and found that the convention center was just lovely…read more It's not the largest conference center I've been in, but it did have adequate space for the event, with the exception of parking. We had to circle the lot a few times to find a space but eventually did. It's easily located just off the freeway and near lots of hotels (or are the hotels located near the convention center?) Either way, it's an ideal setup to attract folks from out of town.

I want to be clear I am not rating the service or the facilities with this review…read more What I am rating is far more important than that in my opinion. I was attending the Charlie Kirk Memorial at the Dixie Center on 10/10/25 but I didn't agree with the selection of speakers the WCRP and UTGOP had lined up for this event. So I decided to use my 1st amendment rights to take a picket sign to the event that said "GOD BLESS CHARLIE" " but I don't think he would be happy with the speakers that have been chosen to speak for him." My wife (who has dementia) and I sat quietly on one of the stone benches in front of the Dixie Center and were in no way hampering any egress to the event. The management came out and asked us to move 40 ft further away to the "FREE SPEECH AREA" and I refused because I told them as far as I knew the whole country was a free speech area. They told me the WCRP had requested to have the free speech area enforced during the event. And if I didn't move they would get the sheriffs deputies involved, I told him I wasn't going to move. So shortly after he went over and spoke with the sheriffs deputies they came over and began to harass and threaten us with jail if we didn't move the 40 ft to the free speech area. Well this caused my wife a huge amount of stress, and I even felt she may have a stroke or heart attack. While I was willing to keep fighting for my GOD given rights and even go to jail if need be. I wasn't willing to put my wife in any more danger so I relented and decided to leave. But the deputies had to get in their last digs of disrespect, which made me sit back down. But my wife hollered at me so I got back up and started to leave again, and that's when one of the deputies put hands on me. I shook his hands off of me and told him I don't need any help leaving. Then they followed us to the parking lot to make sure we left. What that deputy did would be considered "battery" if you didn't know. The reason all of this happened is because the management "LIED" to me and probably to the deputies. And the deputies didn't do their do diligence and check to make sure that what the management was telling them was the truth. So because of this LIE my 1st amendment rights were violated! The lie the management told was that the WCRP had requested the free speech area be enforced during this event. I know this for a fact because I have talked to the people at the WCRP and asked them if they had asked for the free speech area to be enforced for this event, and they have said "NO". If you are a Republican and you know anything about Charlie Kirk, you know that makes far more sense than what the management is claiming. So if you want to do business that doesn't respect the "Constitution" then go to the Dixie Center. If you want to teach a business a lesson on respecting our rights and freedoms and the Constitution, find someplace else to have your meetings. If they will lie about this what else will they lie about? Do you want to take the chance of finding out how little integrity or morals this business has?

Nevada State Parks Regional Visitor's Center is located near the park entrance for Cathedral Gorge…read moreState Park on US 93. They have maps and brochures for all of the nearby state parks inside. Walking in I was greeted by, Marcia. She was very friendly and I really enjoyed sharing memories/stories about the both of us growing up in NV. Marcia and her family go back generations in Panaca, so if you have a question about nearby cities or state parks she most likely has an answer and some neat story to go with it. There is a small gift shop inside that has mostly reproductions of things once found or that are very hard to find in the NV desert. Stuff in the gift shop is fairly priced, but I have to admit this VC is really lacking inside compared to some of the others I have been to. They didn't have any interpretive displays so it's just the gift shop inside and brochures. At least they weren't lacking a room where you can watch a short (it's about 20 minutes) movie about all of the nearby state parks because that's something I look forward to even when visiting national parks and wildlife refuges. I thought the movie was informative and it was neat to learn stuff about not just Cathedral Gorge, but also the other nearby state parks. This movie room is inside the doors to the left of the VC entrance. Outside there are a few signs telling some of the history of the state parks that are worth checking out. The trail for Bullionville Cemetery is on the side of the VC building. Near the parking lot there's a picnic area with grass and a table. Dogs are allowed on leash outside of the VC. Hours for this visitors center are open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and closed certain holidays.
