We had intentions of going to…read morea state park in Utah, but it was a Friday night (mid-May, 2024) and we hadn't made reservations, and they were full. So, I went to Recreation.gov and found that this campground had spaces available. It was 25 miles away, but it was on the way to our next destination. The campground is located in the Virgin River National Recreation Area, managed by the BLM. It was also very inexpensive -- $12 with a National Parks Senior Lifetime Pass ($16 without) for a non-electric site. We found the campground easily -- very close off the interstate but still surprisingly quiet. Finding our campsite though was another story! We were site 69 & the loops seemed to end at 68. We only found it after enlisting the help of a maintenance worker and a map in the restroom. The campground is in a lovely location, with many sites having views of the canyons or the Virgin River. Handicapped sites also have covers over their picnic tables to protect opponents from the Arizona desert sun. Restrooms have modern toilets and running water. The campground also has a few easy (and some harder) hiking trails -- including one down to the river where people were swimming and cooling off. None that we encountered were shaded so make sure you bring lots of water.

The room is clean but has a very strong poop smell when you come inside, makes my day after a long trip. You don't need to worry at night, you can hear everything, from your neighbors opening doors to cars parking outdoor. You'll be welcomed at the nearby gas station for your checkin / checkout, between someone coming taking a pack of cigarettes and another pumping gas. Attendant seems to not care much. I recommend you look a bit further and spend some extra bucks to find a decent place. First and last time I spend a night here.

I was skeptical about this hotel but it was the closest location to our church camp out. While the…read moreroom was clean the bathtub/shower area had a stained/dirty shower curtain and mold around the tub. While I had no plans to take a bath/shower I was hoping to sponge bathe. Alas NO hot water. I reported this. Was told I just needed to run the water longer. I ran the water for over 10 minutes. Still no hot water. Reported again. No response. Tried again this morning. It's 5:30 AM. Still no hot water and no response to my report. Checking out. Lesson learned. I just checked out of the motel. Expressed concern about no hot water. Clerk stated, "Yah, they need to get that fixed." What??!! I will be reaching out to the manager at the light of day.

Trees are young- so no shade due to size. Dog park is all rock and has weeds and thistles growing up. My dogs hated it. They just stood there. Lucky for us there is a business next door that has some grass we could walk through to help encourage the #2. Which of course we picked up. They do provide 3 dog stations to dispose waste into along with bags, in the park. No one here to check you in. You just reserve your spot and drive to it. It is a Good Sam's but we didn't know where to add that info when booking. And there is no one here to talk to. Camp host on site- but we never saw them. If you're needing a quick stay or easy over night, it will do. The wind blew every day- so we didn't play pickleball on the single court they have. The putt putt is just a single hole. Didn't use laundry. They need weed maintenance in some of the lots.

If you drive through here looking for a place my suggestion is to keep driving out and get a more suitable RV Park in the area.

The hook ups were easy to find and install. They made up a rule you cannot have a dirt bike or noise making machine anywhere on property. I explained the bikes stay in the bed of the truck unless at the track and they still refused. Go to Casa Blanca RV Resort. Cheaper, less ridiculous rules, more amenities, there a pool and access to a casino.

But the guest WiFi is horrible and for me, that's important. It works in the lodge but not in the RV sites. Yes, it connects to the router....but not to the internet. Wish it were better because I'd love to give them a better rating. They've been pretty friendly to me and both individuals I've run into are hard working, friendly, and want to help out the customers. I'll gladly tip them. But I need my internet. I'm running out of data on my phone plan (haha). Why do RV parks have such lame WiFi?

Speaking of RV Park or resort as they call it is an absolute joke to put it simply. I know they are…read morenew in the RV Park business but there is absolutely no excuse for being rude and inconsiderate on part of the management. We are part of a RV club that's been around for the last 30 years and have been around many RV cams with monthly outings. We never had experienced anything like this before. Our members are older couples ranging in ages 62 to 92 and this was our first time here excited to have found this new place where we can enjoy as a group as we have at many other camping trips. Not at this place! We were given conflicting information and when trying to follow the instructions given we were rudely interrupted and thrown out of the back area of the building where we were previously told by the same manager to assemble in the first place. After we had our meet and greet and started to have our "finger foods" dinner outside in the back of the building (restaurant) where we were told we can assemble the manager comes out and as rudely as she can be ordered us off the area and back to our RV spaces where (by their rules) we couldn't be assembled as a group without management permission. So we had four people with their walkers and trying to carry their food at the same time having to leave the area "right now" as manager yells out to them twice very impatiently as if they were bunch of young hooligans disturbing the peace. These are the older folks in their eighties who have paid high price for these camp sites and didn't deserved to be treated this way. The prices they are charging are outrageous because this really is not a resort as they claim because they have no amenities it's a small golf course with a small restaurant, period now wan to be RV resort. They may get there some day but only with different people who are in charge because the current one is not going to cut it. Good luck to them. As far as we are concerned our group will never be returning here. By the way, when my wife told this to the manager her reply was "well good ".

Not much shade but your welcome to use the Gazebo and watch the gold fish in the pond.. Just a 1/2 mile from the interstate, but a little close and you get highway noise.
