Cozy Indian restaurant with excellent service and mouth watering dishes. I took me forever to get here but I finally made reservations for a Saturday evening solo date at the bar. I started with a Spanish white wine recommended by the bartender Paula. I also had a little help deciding between the final two contenders for my entree. I ended up going with the Crab Curry over basmati (med heat) and it was absolutely amazing! I had an order of Roti to help balance the heat. The owner came over for a chat and explained a bit of the restaurant's history, ingredient selection and style of cooking. You can tell that everything is made with love! I can't wait to get back to try the shrimp and grits, wings and fries.

I cannot stress enough how much I loved this restaurant. The owner Saji was delightful and treated all the customers like we were visitors in her home. Sarah our waitress was exceptional. Now lets talk about the food! I will dream about those chicken wings, twice fried in palm oil, slathered in some sticky spicy sauce and dipped in cilantro ranch! So crunchy with the right amount of heat and they give you warm towels cause you are going to need them! The shrimp and grits (which is actually basmati rice) is perfection. It is a great spin on the traditional and shrimp were large and just a little bit of heat. The dessert was creamy and had fresh blueberries. Everything was delicious and cooked with no seed oils so healthy too!

Elevated Indian food is the best way I can describe what Mesa is and what Mesa does. Such a treat to eat the owner and head chef's creation. From arriving to complimentary valet parking (but please remember to tip these hardworking folks) to knowledgeable and friendly service to the flavors on the plate, this has always been one of our favorite restaurants in the Jacksonville area. Small plates, drinks, mains and desserts all just hit right. Started with some SPICY wings, unfiltered sake, and pav bhaji and moved to the kerala fried chicken bun, salmon mole, lamb chops and their steak special. Lychee sorbet and watermelon granita finished us off. Oh and these folks will adjust the spice level and customize for you on the dishes they can. Just go, spend the money and enjoy the culinary ride!

Got a level 3. Crazy spicy. Very very good though. I would order the ishtu again. The ambiance is super cute. Small place. They have an outdoor patio too. The waiter was just fine. The summer shandy beer is amazing. I would totally come back. You won't be disappointed.

Finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint! Visiting from Gainesville, I was nervous that this may not be a great atmosphere for a toddler but everyone was so nice and welcoming, and I was relieved to see there were high chairs and other little ones enjoying their meals. We sat on the patio, which was lovely, and our server was friendly and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised that they asked up front about any allergies and were so gracious in accommodating. The food was delicious, from the marinated cucumbers we got as an appetizer to the chicken curry and paneer curry we selected as our entrees. There are so many other items I'd like to try if I'm able to return. Overall a great spot for a date night, family dinner or night out with friends!

Mesa's spin on South Indian cuisine is definitely worth checking out if you live in the area. We ordered the uttapam, lamb burger, and lamb chops. The uttapam, a pancake with onion and herbs, was my favorite dish - absolutely delicious. The lamb was really well cooked and not too heavy on the spices. The bite of my wife's burger was excellent: juicy, flavorful, and really great bread. The fries with the burger were a little too heavily seasoned for me, but someone who really loves Indian spices might not feel the same way. Drinks were excellent. Service was very attentive and friendly. Ambience is pleasant, although a little drab. Cost is pricey, but reasonable for what you are getting.

The food at Mesa really surpriser my taste buds! It was so fresh and flavors are very well balanced. Service was great and our bartender was very attentive, i loved every minute i spent here, it felt like home. Ambiance is very romantic, low lights, and soft music that allowed us to have a conversation over amazing food!

What an INCREDIBLE Experience me and my wife had at this Restaurant. You can truly say that the owner/Chef genuinely cares for the food and Customer experience and feedback. We did their 5 course Summer Special 2025 Menu. To Start off we had their Nimbu Paani as our drinks and 1st Course we had watermelon Salad it was very nice and fresh. For 2nd course we had Uttapam with their signature chutney it was perfectly balanced and great flavours. For 3rd course we had Pav Bhaji it was amazing and for 4th course I had Paneer curry and my wife had Tamarind rice it was amazing truly mouth watering and finally for the 5th course I had lemonana Sorbet and my wife had strawberry Semifreddo. Overall the food tasted incredible you could see the oil used to look is amazing. Finally we had the owner/ chef come out and talk to us regarding the restaurant and its history and her passion towards food. It was just an amazing and a memorable experience we had. The ambiance is great, wall art is cool and the interior decoration is very nice. The service was very nice and professional we had Khalil F as our server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained everything well and made sure we were ok on a Timely manner. The other staff were very kind and courteous as well. The toilets are well maintained as well. Overall I HIGHLY Recommend this place when you're in Jacksonville. It's a must try place !!!

Absolutely wonderful place! The server I had was fantastic and really went above and beyond with making our experience enjoyable. I also have a food allergy, which can make dining difficult, but the server and chef did go out of their way to make sure I could enjoy the wonderful food they have! We also got to meet the owner; she was fantastic and so friendly! The food was perfect and I absolutely will be coming back here

I have been dreaming about returning to Mesa! Went here for a girl's night and we all shared a few different things. The salmon, fries, wings, pav bhaji ( potato, pea, tomato, buttery pav), watermelon salad, and shrimp and grits. The watermelon salad was a delightful seasonal surprise! We couldn't get enough! The pav Bhaji was so unique and delicious. Buttery bread filled with potatoes, peas, and tomatoes. The wings were amazing, such great unique flavor and crunch! Everyone loved the salmon it was not my favorite but I would recommend it if you like salmon. The star was the shrimp and grits. It's made with Basmati grits and they were so creamy. Just a butiful texture! I can't wait to go back. We had reservations at 8 and we're seated right away. I would recommend making earlier reservations because they were out of curry which was a big bummer.

Mesa is a must go to if you're a foodie in Jax! The flavors were all amazing. A nice fusion twist on authentic South Indian (Kerala) flavors! Our favorites were by far the naanchos and the salmon mole but all of the things we get were amazing. The restaurant is owned by a mom and her son, they both were so great and greeting all of the tables! The owner stopped by our table multiple times and checked in to see how we were doing and did the same with the rest of the tables too. The service was overall great as well. The restaurant has a very cozy but elegant vibe. Today was the last day of their fall menu but I'm excited to go back for the winter menu soon!

This is a must stop for anyone who likes Indian food. The menu isn't extensive but that's a big part of the charm. They know what they are good at and that's what's available. Our waitress was spectacular. She was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. Great recommendations. The vib is lowkey upscale without feeling pompous. The naanchos were good but were entirely outshined by the pav bhaji which may be the best dish I've ever had. It's a must try. The grits were so incredibly unique with a delicious sauce and perfectly cooked shrimp. The curry was great and the portion sizes were nicely done. Not excessive sizes but we were not able to finish our meals after the apps. A little pricey but worth it.

I'd like to give this place a 4.5. My only complaint of the night was that it was a bit warm inside. We were using the menus as fans. But it was a warm summer night so that wasn't helping. Otherwise food, service, atmosphere all amazing! I really think this place is a local gem. Highly recommend checking it out. The Salmon dish was amazing, a large portion and full of flavor. Also highly recommend a reservation. Plenty of parking and valet available!
