Our 3rd visit and it's been wonderful each time. This time we brought a bottle from our own collection and I felt the $25 corkage fee was reasonable. Our server decanted the wine for us which is always the best way. I had the surf and turf and my wife had the Veal Saltimbocca. Hidden gem in Ocala! Looking for a spot to grab dinner before a triathlon in the morning, came across Mesa de Notte. Place was busy, but grabbed a table without a reservation in about 5 mins. Had the mushroom soup, which was good, but it tasted suspiciously like Marsala sauce . The spaghetti bosco was amazing! Loaded with mushrooms, garlic, and spinach, it was light and filling and the portion was huge. Got a side of grilled veggies as well, which were delicious! Squash, zucchini, and bell peppers, I should've asked what they seasoned them with. Couldn't leave without a cannoli to go as well before bedtime. Service was fast and friendly, and the place was quaintly Italian inside. Would definitely go back! read more

We really planned to eat at home Saturday night, but... no one wanted to cook. And I wanted to get us out of our normal rut. So we went to Mesa de Notte. What a treat it was! Dinner started with calamari and hot fresh bread with Italian butter. The main dishes we ordered were Fettuccine Alfredo, fettuccine carbonara, Marsala chicken, and capinellini el notte that had angel hair pasta onions mushrooms, spinach and a light sauce. Wow! What a great meal! Amazing flavors, perfectly prepared and served quickly by an amazing server, Siboney. And for dessert, my wife and I split a zabaglione...that the girls ate, too. I had heard a lot of wonderful things about this restaurant and was excited to try it out. We went on a weeknight so we didn't have to wait. But I was told it gets pretty crowded on the weekends so it's recommended to make a reservation then. We got the Italian martini and a glass of montepulciano red wine. Both were excellent, the martini is not as strong as other places are, so definitely much more palatable for lighter drink folks. It was so hard to choose entree dishes because so many things sounded good! We ended up getting the antipasto freddo for an appetizer. This was pretty good value for us as we could sample a lot of things including cold cuts, artichoke hearts, olives, roasted red peppers and chunks of parmesan. For entrees, we got the fiocchi mandarino, linguine vongole, and chicken piccata. Everything was very, very good. We were particularly impressed with the purse-shaped pasta in the fiocchi dish. Loved the sauce of the chicken piccata. Service was also very friendly and efficient. Can't wait to try out more items - I'm looking at you veal parmesan and cannelloni. read more

Delicious food and excellent service! The salmone Grigio was perfect! Hubby had veal parm and he would go back for more.

Was just there over the weekend, and prior to that about 3 months ago. The Caesar salad was completely different. The latter had hardly any dressing (which I know can be easily remedied), but the large pieces of Parmesan were missing...the best part! When asked I was told they now use Parmesan from the large bowl they walk around with. Also, the Canneloni was way different. Instead of the smooth meat -blended filling, it was a coarse puree that made it most unappetizing to look at and eat. Not sure what has changed in the chef status but please re-evaluate your recent choices. read more

My first visit and an extremely pleasant experience in a comfortable place with enough privacy to have a personal chat. Started off with Burrata de Buffala with a beautiful creamy buffalo mozzarella cheese, fresh tomato and basil, and stuffed roasted red pepper. Then on to a wahoo fish pan fried over parmesan risotto with a cherry reduction glaze and zucchini fritters. Spectacular. The fish was perfectly cooked, the risotto generously served, and the reduction an amazing contrast to both. I would have loved to eaten more, but was sated with the salad and entree. I will be back for sure. Looks like a real Italian scratch kitchen. Service was good too. What an amazing place. read more

The restaurant was super busy, and we didn't have a reservation for five. We happily accepted a table outside. It was a beautiful evening, and I believe warmer than we would have been inside. The service was great and the food was delicious. All five of us were very pleased with our selections. Note the picture is a half serving of spaghetti, which was plenty. On a recommendation went to Mesa for a birthday/ valentines dinner and was very pleased with everything. Our server Joshua was fantastic and fun and very knowledgeable about the menu. The Fiocchi Mandariono was incredibly delicious little purses of Gorgonzola and pear in a yummy sauce that I could almost drink! The birthday girl got the Salmon eggplant mushroom roll up and was delighted by it ( them as there were 2). Big enough that one came home with us. From wine then soups then entrees and finally dessert it was a very memorable experience. We will definitely go back as there were many offerings on the menu that we really need to try. read more
